I don't know if ya'll play the instrument, but I find Jerry to be one of the most difficult players to keep up with. If one tries to play along with him, pretty soon he'll be leaving you behind, scratching your head. I'm not the biggest Dead Head, but I'm an absolute fan of Jerry Garcia's guitar skills.
@@cicadagodking absolutely, Jerry technically knew scales but associated the sound of blues ,country , and the dorian/mixolydian jazz approach to playing with the feeling of the sounds. All great guitarists seem to have the ability to reject the common cliches, and go thier own way. it doesn't really matter if they are fast or slow, that is not what makes them great . Some of my buddies who play metal and hard rock and also some jazz actually reject the Dead and Allman Brothers . it's actually funny Jerry looked at fame as a necessary evil, that he didn't actually like, he was able to see through the BIZ and just play. A players like Page Beck, Blackmore and Iommi also have the ability to play riffs you have never heard before

I look over at my friend and he/ she is so cute and seems like they are smiling, I would say even gigiling with me too! Then my friend interrupts me by transforming into some theatre guy in long robes, no it’s Saint Peter, no its John Cleese as St. Peter, no it really is St.Peter [ who looks exactly like John Cleese & really sounds like him, too ] and he says we are on the precipice that opens to Heaven. He pulls out this pinky/ mauve, velvet satchle, and He shakes it up and asks me to draw out a question from the bag. If I can answer it, my little friend and myself will be entering paradise today. [ There are more animal souls than human souls in paradise! ] I hand him my lot and He asks me, “ what is your favourite colour ?” I say that’s it, I can say anything? He says, “ Sure.” That’s all I can remember. Sorry about my drawn out story. I really dreamt that, I was so tripping when you mentioned this. And it really happened to you ! Man, that is so WiLD !!! ~ Take Care! [ By the way, I dreamt this shortly after Jerry passed. I was so stressed, I was dreaming so many really intense, and so vivid dreams that are burned into my brain.
