- This is my Instrumental Rendition of a Classic Song that Cat Stevens popularised in his 1971 album (Teaser and the Firecat) - "Morning Has Broken"!
I have played this using my Roland FP 90 Keyboard (Piano) & my Acoustic Violin (Melody)!
I really love the piano interlude parts of this song especially as it wouldn't sound the same played on any other instrument!

I just caught up with this - it's a lovely version. Although Cat Stevens' recording is most remembered these days, the song was written in the late 1920s by Eleanor Farjeon, who was then a well-known children's author: she wrote 'Martin Pippin in the Apple Orchard' and other stories, mostly with a refreshing atmosphere of personal spirituality - quite a break from the tradition of 'Ripping Yarns' from British history (G.A.Henty etc.) and jolly schoolgirl escapades (Angela Brazil etc.). I had thought that the tune might have been by her brother Harry Farjeon - a musician and composer - but Wikipedia tells me that it is a traditional Scots Gaelic melody.
@Rick Townend - Thanks so much 👍 & for sharing into the background info!

@CHRISTIE JOY STA. MARIA - ❤️❤️❤️
This is absolutely lovely...and I love your aim "to bring out the "HIM" in HYMN...! I would like to try this version with my husband, but with cello and piano. Is this your own arrangement of the duet?
@ABMRSolutions - Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes it was an arrangement I put together which I picked up by ear. Definitely worth trying with your Husband 👍
