I saw him at THE BOATHOUSE in norfolk when i was in the navy most packed ever saw that place it was one of his slightly drunk shows pretty sure he didnt even finish we were there he was there.It was awesome i feel like we lost a way underappreciated superstar

I've read exactly the kind of fan reviews that expressed serious dissatisfaction with the film: "The songs are so jerkily cut in the middle'', ''Meat Loaf himself is utterly without charm'' etc .They didn't like that he was shown as a nervous man on the verge of a breakdown.
"Russell" (Josh Mostel... his dad was Zero Mostel... of "Fiddler on the Roof" fame...) would also play the brother, named: "Blotto" Blutarsky - of "Bluto", Blutarsky (John Belushi) from the movie Animal House , on the short lived TV version sitcom called, "Delta House"... The theme song to "Delta House" was written by Jim Steinman... It was canned 'cause Jim wasn't involved and didn't want his songs used in it (the start of their falling out period)...and instead got chopped up into segments that they used as videos to promote "Dead Ringer" the album. Never saw the film, but it looks like it'd be a fun one to watch! :-)
And, oh yeah - the >movie< was called "Dead Ringer" because it involved some nutty fan (played either by Josh Mostel or Meat Loaf himself) who looked like Meat Loaf's twin trying to find him and meet up with him somehow (it was fictional, needless to say!)...or something like that! I believe the ALBUM "Dead Ringer" was called that (and I'm probably the only fan who thinks so) because, even though it contains the track "Dead Ringer (for Love)," and it would seem that it was just named after that title track, to me it seems that Jim Steinman was trying to make it a "dead ringer" of "Bat Out of Hell," where you can compare both albums track-for-track and see that one is a "mirror" of the other. While that's just in theory, you can also see, however, that he does something similar with that song listing pattern on "Pandora's Box" and "Bad for Good." ;-)
