It's a demonstration. She doesn't need a dirty chimney to show how to clean the chimney. However, she should have shown how to seal up the front of the fireplace with plastic the best she can while the person below helps you pull.

That knot will break free! You need a much better knot to ensure the cleaning bristles don't get stuck in the middle! Other than that, great video!
