Was getting real tired of getting up a ladder, so I bought something like this. The instructions that came with it were bad. Your video is FANTASTIC!!!!! . It taught me everything I needed to know. Just cleaned my chimney and was amazed. Thank you again!!!!!!!
Great tip for cleaning and lubing at the end. I just swept my chimney yesterday and I only wiped down the rods then packed it up. Time to go clean and lube those connections! Thanks.
Pouse! These little videos have helped me in the past... but I am a bit addicted to your loft conversation (doing similar myself). I need my fix! Please upload more of the loft!! ... I know you’ve made more progress and are just teasing us!! 😂🙄 Keep it up 👍
That was the best explanation for any process or product I have ever seen. Even someone who is not mechanically inclined could understand and have great success. you would be an amazing teacher, but I guess that's actually what you already are. Going to check if they ship to the U.S. because I need one.
Concise and clear demonstration which has prompted me to buy a kit. Frightening shot of you on a roof though. A little niggle for me was the use of the word ash rather than soot. This is solely my personal view as I consider the ash to be the residue left from the burning of wood and the soot is the build up within the flue. Just as an observation I believe that the most efficient way of burning wood is to have a layer of ash (not soot) as a fire bed about 50 mm thick rather than having a grill under the bed as normally found in a multi fuel stove to provide an updraught for burning solid fuel.
Brave wearing a white shirt to clean a chimney! I have to take my stove out to clean chimney so it is a major operation and all furniture is covered and the floors. But this system seems much , much better than my manual rods. Great.
Excellent video. I have a high chimney and had a bad chimney fire recently. Fire brigade said lots of suit stuck to the upper part of my flu even though id been getting a chimney sweep in yearly for 15+ years. Its obvious they weren't going all the way to the top so Im doing it myself from now on using this kit and video. 👍
Got one of these last week for a blocked liner and one of today's sweeps was the same, as a chimney sweep, I found this bit of kit excellent for the job, I haven't trimmed the brush and it works fine.
Nice demo. If I had that much creosote come out of my chimney flu after the first clean in a long time, I think I would run a second sweep, to see if there is still a lot more that needs to come off. The fact that allot comes out didn't mean there's not allot left. But nice review.
I bought an ash vacuum and had exactly the same problem, zero suction after about 30 seconds, had to clean the filer and wait for it to cool down. For the price I could've got a second hand Henry, thanks for the tip !
Lol practically minded . Made me giggle a bit 😄 over all this video gets an AAA + thank you 😊 this is an amazing learning video. Im confident We can do this thanks to you so much 💛.
Hello. What’s a best technique if your pipe is on a angle going into chimney. I’m a first time user and having some difficulty getting into the chimney without going on to the roof?
Glad I could help. Plenty more vids. Some you maybe interested in How to clean wood stove glass - ruclips.net/video/MAsHLK2x8S4/видео.html How to clean and polish a natural slate hearth - ruclips.net/video/SJWQV0-oYSY/видео.html Thanks for watching and please subscribe!

Great video, looks easier than using a traditional set (drain rods) one question are the front bars in the correct way-looks like ash would fall through and forward
Great video mate, I have just purchased one of these. However I am going to use it on a flue from stove that is loose in chimney stack. (flue fitted to stove flue and to cowl on chimney). Is this suitable to sweep a loose fitted flue liner up chimney? Thanks for sharing.
6.5kw multifuel stove, Aga Ludlow. The Henry bags are great, suck everything up! Links to all my tools in the description below the video. Hope that helps 👍
Excellent clear vid again mate. Very concise and helpful. On another point: who installed the stove. I ask because of the clearance distance to combustibles are usually around 400mm and your wooden skirting boards look about 150mm. Just to be aware. Great vid!
I fitted the skirting after the stove was in place. Had the stove fitted by HETAS engineer. He wasn't too bothered by the combustibles rule, but to be honest it never gets hot by there, and I think it's a rule that most people don't follow, so I put them on. It's fine. Thanks for watching!
Sorry little confused at the instructions to cut brush to size,I have a 6" flue lining, you sugest to cut down to 9" if the original diamiter is 45 cm /18" are you suggesting cutting 9 " off the bush strands ? 4.5 in each side ? Thanks ...Eddie
Hey. Good Video. I want to extend the period of time in between sweeps - how long had you left it since you had alot of ash. Of course it depends how often you use the stove, plus what you're burning is a factor too. Any info ? Cheers
Should be fine, they are very flexible, just take your time and turn the brush as you go. There's a link to the power sweep in the description section below the video if you need it. Thanks for watching 👍
I have a stove that has a manifold running across the center of the flue. I think I can fit the brush up along the side of the manifold and still use this product, but I was wondering if anyone else has Napoleon Stoves and could share their experience?
How often should you sweep your chimney? We had it installed 6 weeks ago but use it nearly every evening? Also can you burn conifer if well seasoned? Read different answers to this elsewhere,
Great review and an excellent bit of kit. I've had mine a couple of years now and would recommend it to anybody that wants to tackle this job themselves. There's a video on my channel about using one of these.
Only thing I would suggest as a 'hack' would be removing the locking button on the drill adapter - that will never go up the lum so would make adding/removing rods much quicker!
Problem is that the chimney isn't usually where the buildup of creosote/ash is, it's the chimney CAP that clogs. Therefore, you still have to get out the ladder and climb up on the roof to remove and clean the cap. That takes care of ninety percent of the problem. While up there anyway, it's pretty simple to run a conventional brush down the chimney to take care of the other ten percent. I have yet to find a way to clean a chimney cap from below, or (the holy grail) a self cleaning chimney cap!
Great video. Safety tip. Don’t use gloves to guide the rotating rods, they could get stuck, tangled and you could break your fingers. Use bare hands or run them through a short piece of pipe
to much time i use a chimmney brush its hard but its worth it it scraps the stage three creasote off in the flume and falls in the fireplace or the stove
So little soot came out, it looks as if it was hardly worth cleaning! I was hoping to see a real test using the rotary brush, with baked on lumps of tar blocking the chimney.
I know it's late, this is among the best demonstration videos I've ever seen! Very good 👍

Ordered one of these yesterday, it arrived today. Chimney swept and everything cleaned within a few hrs. Thanks for the tips!
Glad it went well, good work!

Claim on the sweeps insurance?
Ive had a set of these chimney brushes for a couple of years now and they are brilliant, highly recommend them😀
Yes, mine worked very well. Thanks for watching.
Got one of these last week for a blocked liner and one of today's sweeps was the same, as a chimney sweep, I found this bit of kit excellent for the job, I haven't trimmed the brush and it works fine.
For the money it's a great little tool. I've used mine a few times now, easy to use and very effective. Thanks for watching!

No problem. I'd happily buy a new one as long as you use the correct bags. Thanks for watching.
Henry are amazing 😊
Great piece of kit ~ easy to use and very effective. A spray of WD40 on each nipple both before use and as you are dismantling really helps
Only problem I found with spraying WD40 on my nipples was I smelt of oil all day long! Thanks for watching.
@@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE lol
I’m amazed your tee shirt is as clean as when u started , doing a messy job 😀😀
Thank you for this great video I'm going to buy this kit now based on your recommendation 👍
They look great! So much better than screw together rods.
They did work well, very pleased with them.

Brilliant video. Will definitely make me feel safer and also save a few quid🤙
Great video, I may get this kit now. Nice stove, 5kw multifuel I'm guessing. Re the HEPA filters for the henry vacuums do they stop plaster dust also?

I'd suggest at least once a burning season. Twice if you're burning an unusually large amount.

Yeah, so the rod can whip loose and poke your eye out or slap the family jewels, LOL.

Really random question here mate but do you know the colour name of the green your chimney breast is painted? Love the colour!
Not sure, but apple white by Dulux rings a bell, but it may be something else.

I have a multifuel stove with two 45 degree bends in the ICS......would this kit be ok with that?
I reckon so. I've got a few harsh bends and it was great.
Mate, I love your videos, you have some serious technical skills. But get a better MICROPHONE! PLEASE!
seriously. you need a mic
My camera has a built in mic. I need a new camera to do that and that means I have to spend money! Can I just shout instead?

It does indeed!
That Vacuum Cleaner (£122) is $500 in the U.S. What is the reason for that?
They’re made in the UK so possibly import tax
All good except the use of creosote in the garden - best to avoid if you can.
It has to go somewhere! Thanks for watching.
So little soot came out, it looks as if it was hardly worth cleaning! I was hoping to see a real test using the rotary brush, with baked on lumps of tar blocking the chimney.
