Hi Daneger and Stacey! Your channel was recently recommended to us by some friends on Twitter. Loved this video! Looks like you're not in Mexico anymore, but if you plan to visit again, let us know so we can link up! :) ~Maddie & Jordan
Just saw your first few videos the last day or so and really enjoying the format: length of each video, good visuals, your “way” of travel (looking for local stuff), even the graphics and music used (especially the music, without that high bpm from many other travels vlogs).
You are right about keeping up with you guys on Instagram - it kind of previews the full vlogs that appear here on RUclips and allows your followers a real time experience of your travels too. The chicken at Pollo Bronco looked fantastic - I love little local eateries like this, but that car park scam sucked!!
Lucky number Slevin! Love getting your take on this amazing area we used to call home. We don't comment much but really enjoy the way you guys tackle life ;-)
We'd pick Canggu easily. Tulum is definitely more of a grouping of the 'hotel zone' IG heaven and its overwhelming and in your face and not as much going on around that. Canggu offers a better balance in our opinion
Really nice low light film shots in the beginning during the sunrise did you use your Panasonic GH5 for that? Also to loom looks gorgeous did you guys enjoy the beach or the ruins better?
Yeah that was the GH5 in the morning, I wouldnt say its good in low light but mid light is good haha. We enjoyed the pool and beach a bit more because of the heat!
Daneger and Stacey That’s good to know, I guess from what I read it It didn’t sound like it would do that well in lower light shots but I think it still came out pretty well and it was nice to start out the video like that. Yeah that makes sense I’ve heard it gets pretty hot down there and a lot more tourist have been going the last few years to check out the ruins and it can be pretty busy
Great video, thanks for sharing but a few too many adds kept popping up so I almost got too frustrated to keep watching. Keep sharing please but maybe scale down the adds just a bit :)
Thanks for the heads up, John! There should only ever be 1 ad, but RUclips has started automating the placement a lot more now so might be getting carried away
Looks like they have turned up the tourist volume around Tulum, much more commercial than when I was there last, about seventeen years ago. If you want to see something less touristy, go back into the bush to the lesser visited archeological sites. I started with local sites like Tulum, but ended up hiring a car and going out to the others, there have been times when I was the only one there besides the site workers.
If you picked that up from this video then we're sad to say that it's probably 3 times more than what you expect. We avoided the touristy zones, this is the more chill side!
@@DanegerAndStacey really? ☹️ Looks like a shark feeding frenzy to me. I remember trying to romantically walk along the beach with my girlfriend in Isla Mujeres while being chased by a vendor. Did we want this? Did we want that? After several no, thanks.... "What do you want amigo?" My reply, "To be left the f*** alone!"
We stayed in Akumal in 2016, for 2 weeks, and visited a Cenote just slightly north of Akumal, called "Cenote Azul" (not to be confused with the one South of Tulum). I think at the time it was only around 5 US dollars per person. g.co/kgs/xMvepR
We're leaving for Mexico in 10 days! It'll be a 3 week adventure up and down Quintana Roo. Tulum being our first stop, how did you like it? Did you make it to the cenotes after all? Which were your favorite? Also, great video! I wish it was 30 mins long :)
Only a few days till you go now! We didnt make it to any cenotes in the end. Tulum is OK, very Instagram if you're into that, thats why we hired the scooter and properly explored rather than just staying in the hotel zone hot spot
I mean I wouldn't know but for all the chill factor you seemed more relaxed in Scotland. Is Mexico hard work and then once you find the spot you can relax or is it that there are so many different experiences competing for your attention that the pace of the country kinda rushes at you? Great vlog... really enjoying your take on the place.
Good observations! Mexico is definitely more intense, more of a culture shock, a lot more hustle and noise etc. It's definitely more of a rush and adventure, while Scotland feels very familiar to us in terms of New Zealand comparisons. Each have their positives!
Why is Bali your dream vacation? A lot of Bali is literally built on Instagram unfortunately, one of the most 'Instagrammy' places we've been. There are great places outside of that which aren't of course, but the Canggu and Seminyaks are deep in it.
@@DanegerAndStacey totally agree... I went to Bali with a friend, and while we DID enjoy our experience, I 1000% agree with it feeling super 'instagrammy' (We were in Seminyak and Canguu) I would be hesitant to return with my hubby, as we prefer things a little more 'authentic' . I DID however, fall deeply in love with Nook...and would love to teleport there once a month from Canada.
Just got back from 9 days in Tulum and would say it’s definitely not worth it. The beaches are filled with narcissistic women taking tons of selfies, and showing off their assets. Gag! The rest of the Riviera Maya is overwhelmed with Las Vegas style resorts that are the equivalent of Carnival cruise ships
Do you always travel to other countries just to compare and criticize how bad things are compared to your own country ?? ... Mexico loves to welcome people from all over , unfortunate some travelers are too narrow minded.
@@DanegerAndStacey just yours as it only takes couple of minutes to see how ignorant you are ...You were expecting to have the Mayan ruins and cenotes right in your all inclusive resort ???? comparing how bad things are as your going around as opposed to the opulent life your coming from ...?? seriously , good luck.
I agree... why didn’t they just make stuff up? I thought the video was informative and made me want to go visit. I saw absolutely nothing but two people enjoying Mexico. Great video. You’re welcome to visit my home town! People cry just to hear themselves cry...
@@israeltorres8823 Pointing out that everything is quite spread out is not the same as being ignorant and expecting things on your doorstep.... I'd challenge you to find 3 negative things we apparently 'compared to our opulent life where we come from' .

That Sunrise Intro Though....
Always worth getting up early huh!
Ah! You discovered the Crema y Especias Sabritas! THE best crisps in the world!

Cheers Eduardo, appreciate you taking the time to spread some positivity
Went there back in 2015...it was stunning and took my breath away
Glad you loved it!
Town is where it's at in Tulum. It's where we stay every time. Pollo Bronco is the best right? Yum - Trevor
That sunrise, wow!
Shame about the cenotes, hope you guys get the chance to check some out, they are incredible.
We'll get to them one day! Too tired after getting up for sunrise 😝
Beautiful absolutely beautiful gorgeous absolutely gorgeous breathtaking absolutely breathtaking
TOOOO kind

Thanks guys! Glad to have you drop a comment when you can. Tulum is a stunner for sure!
Were going there in 2 weeks and we were a little bit scared but you destressed me😄
You'll be sweet, Tulum is very tourist friendly
I am thinking of Tulum in February. Any updates on the red tide seaweed?? Did you notice much?? It was awful a year ago. Thanks.
It actually wasn't too bad in Tulum to be honest, unsure of how it will be in Feb though but hoping it's OK for you!
@@DanegerAndStacey Thanks!
How does Tulum compare to Canggu do you think? They seem to be rather similar in their Insta-worthyness

So nice!! Loving your videos from Mexico = )
Glad you like them!
Omg just got back few days ago I was at the Blue sky front beach, was so good but the road to the hotel horrible hehe we are not use to :)
Haha yeah that bumpy road is a pain on a scotter
You guys are making traveling look so easy..
Looks nice and peaceful
Aww wish you guys would have stopped by my restaurant in Tulum, HASHTAGPOKÉ, NEXT TIME :)
Hmm... that grilled chicken looks delicious! Awesome video!
We'll send ya some
Living the dream.
Doing our best!
That way of cooking chicken, is used in northern Mexico, as far as I know, from the state of Sinaloa, and is very common in Guadalajara, Jalisco
Can a day get start in a better way? Amazing sunrise on a beach, a bowl of fruits 🤗🤗🙈🙈🙈
Nope - thats the ultimate start!
Damn Dane, your biceps are huge bro! 🙌🙌🙌
Haha not at the moment man, gotta get back in the gym!
wow superb scenery guys , You're making it look more stunning though

Grilled chicken is actually a very common Mexican dish with Spanish rice!
Its the best :)
There is a city in Bulgaria called Sliven! :D
Ah its perfect then!
I just stayed at Mereva Blue Sky in October and it was amazing!

Think it depends on the size of the cenotes, but thats about the price yeah. The one we drove to was a grouping and more like a full day trip thing

Lil hippieish? It's 100% mexican
If you mean 100% in Mexico? Then yes. But it's definitely Instagram and hippiy-ish
It is not you are trying to make it seen like that but it's not Mexico got its own style u are trying to say is hippiy-ish
