I love Queen Margarethe. She is still very beautiful. I saw pictures of her on her wedding day, and she looks the same. I love her constant smile. They have made a happy family. The Queen and Prince Henrik did a wonderful job raising their children and loving their grandchildren. Mary was so beautiful.

@@sovereignspirit7640I’m sure the Danes are warm towards each other but god help the poor stranger in their midst. I lived there for some years.. my youngest son was born there.. I never felt so alone and unwelcome.. Yes, I did make every effort to integrate, and learn the language etc but boy! their cold indifference just froze my soul.

Queen Margrethe has that rare combination of looking absolutely royal while looking like everyone's favorite granny. I love watching this family in action. There is an enormous amount of genuine love and affection that comes through here. No wonder the people of Denmark love their monarchs.

Prince Frederik served with the Danish equivalent of the Seals, and he was part of an expedition across Greenland. This young man is no slouch. His mom and dad did their job bringing him up.
Plus he swam from Sveden to Denmark because he did not want to wait for the bridge to be fixed lol, he got in trouble with his mom The Queen Margrethe of Denmark

@TheRenaissanceman65 there haven't been an actual coronation in Denmark since the shift to a constitutional monarchy in 1849. The new regent had since then simply been announced by the prime minister.

What I found touching was the genuine show of affection between the members of the royal family--brother to brother; parents to children. None of this was an act. It was beautiful to see.
Gotta love the way prince Henrik greets his son Frederik. They are all so excited and nervous, they look so down to earth. So sorry for the recent death of prince Henrik. I really love the Danish Royal Family.

Such an elegant queen.
What I find amazing is the difference in how this royal family dresses compared to the British royals. I see it as equally elegant, but very different in terms of colors and design. The Danish royals seem more approachable as result..and therefore more relatable. I really Like that about them.

@@olympia5758 I wish we did have a Constitutional Monarchy as well in America, but I doubt that could ever happen as for long time, the U.S. has been a under Democratic Republic where the Head of State of state is a President while a constitutional had a President. It would be almost impossible to change our governmental system especially since we were a country that kicked out the British Empire who was under a monarch...

The woman arriving at 2:19 is Alexandra Christina, Countess of Frederiksborg. At that time she was married to Prince Joachim and, therefore, was sister-in-law to Prince Frederick. She arrives by herself because her then husband was the bestman and had entered the Cathedral with his brother, the groom.

I for one think your Monarchy are very gracious looking and Frederik has a beautiful lady by his side.. Prince Frederik and Princess Mary are a wonderful looking couple who so obviously are in love and continue to be so.. AND they now have 4 adorable children as well.. The Church isn't the largest in Denmark, but its tradition for the most important royal weddings to take place there. They could have used Roskilde Cathedral which is much much larger, but that is not used for such an occasion, rather Roskilde Cathedral is used for royal burials.

I love our monarchy. I'm proud of them, and I think they represent Denmark in a better way than many of our politicians. I'm willing to pay more in tax to have this monarchy, as I am willing to pay more tax to have a welfare state that supports those who can't support themselves.
