I have the most utmost respect for Crown Princess Mary. She left her native county, learned a difficult language, took the time to learn about her new culture and never complained about the difficulties of her new role. Denmark 🇩🇰

If she had had an ordinary everyday job working for a WW corporation at the very least she would hv understood what’s involved in having a boss, staying on message, and office politics. It’s hard. And her gown tiara, the sash (is there another name for that?) everything about her, radiates old-style royalty but in a way that completely works today. I like Princess Catherine, and she has some fantastic gowns and outfits (her look at the queen's funeral was perfect) but I noticed that the women of the British RF do not wear gowns that look particularly "royal" the way this gown does. This is romantic.

I agree. Queen Elizabeth wore gowns much like that which Mary is wearing, sometimes magnificently beaded, but then, with Diana it became bout high fashion. The advantage of the Queen and Princess Mary is that both had/have beautiful upper chests, neck and shoulders, while Catherine is rather bony and less well suited to that type of dress. .

How did she learn Danish so fluently??
Having come from Australia myself, I am always amazed at the way that Europeans learn to speak English so competently.. I have heard Queen Margarethe answering questions from the public and slipping with seeming ease from Danish to English to German and goodness knows what else! English speakers expect everyone else to know their language.
I must say that it is useful as a world language. I observed that when that plane went missing in the Indian Ocean, with people on board on a number of mainly Asian nationalities, the common language in which the families or representatives made their enquiries was English.

It would have been a different story if he stayed and she did not but Obviously there were things going on behind the scene that gave did not approve on. If you are taken in by her far-fetched sob story, the scales will fall off eventually. There is very reliable testimony from different sources of her behaviour being cruel, disrespectful, arrogant and abusive. Most of this was kept under wraps by the British RF because they were trying to protect Harry and Meghan as a couple. To say she was not welcomed by them is very far from the truth.

This is my most favourite Royal couple in the world. What a wonderful, loving tribute by a lovely and beautiful Princess to her husband Prince Fredrik.
The fact that she mastered the Danish language, which is arguably one of the most difficult language in the world, clearly shows how much she loves him and her new country.
You could see that Prince Fredrik was blushing like a young boy when Princess Mary poke fun at him. And the audience were in stitches too.
And the fact that Queen Margrete was smiling and beaming with admiration of her daughter in law throughout her speech shows that she is in awe of her.
I pray to God that they will have a long and happy life together and continue to live in perfect health. Denmark is so lucky to have future King and Queen in waiting.

@@lindagusch2671 the pronounciation is quite difficult. But when one lives in a country one hears that language all the time and if you are a bit talented you'll learn it eventually. I had to learn swedish and french because of our lifestyle by living in those countries. French was the most difficult.

I have watched this eloquent tribute many times. She speaks lovingly directly to her husband as if he is the only one in the room. She obviously loves him and admires and respects him in his many roles, including that of husband and father. Any one of us would be so lucky to have a relationship like theirs.

I am an American woman in my 60's and my maternal grandmother and grandfather were from Denmark. They left during the war with Germany. They met on the boat comming here and fell in love. I do try to stay current with news from their country as I adored them so. When I heard this speech I had tears of joy and respect for this lovely couple as I know that my grandparents would be so happy and proud of the love and caring couple leading their mother country. I am as well. That was the most beautiful speech I have ever heard Princess Mary! I will never forget it. All the best to you. 🌹

Today we celebrated their oldest son, prince Christian's, 18yr birthday.
200 young ordinary people from all corners of the country were invited and mingled all night with royals. They all shared a table with a Danish or foreign prince or princess. Must have been quite special.
The royals of the three Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) are inter-married and family anyways, so a lot of those. But others too. 🎁🎂🎁🎂

Mary have really embraced the danish culture so beautifully. As a dane I can say that, that speach was entirely in the danish spirit, and you could not have done it better. I love how open and honest they are about their love for each other. Frederik is so sweet, he gets so emotionell when he listen to Mary. He was also so touched when she walked down the aisle towards him, when they got married. He cried of happyness, so sweet. The danish pappers all had headlines like : "Tudeprinsen"
(cryingprince), but it was all in good fun and with great love. Everybody in Denmark loves the crownprince and crownprincess.They are such a naturel sweet and caring and loving couple. 😀😃🙂🙃
My favorite thing about Crown Princess Mary, is that she speaks fluent Danish, speaks with a Danish English accent when in the presence of Euro/English press, and speaks in an Australian English when in the presence of Aussie press. It cracks me up. She is an absolute vision and so beautifully eloquent.

In an interview given by the Queen, she said I like Mary very much. We have a very warm relationship. What a lovely royal family. More than can be said for some.
I wondered about this as well. Mary received a rather icey reception from the Queen, when she first visited Denmark. I'm so happy to see the Queen smiling during this amazing speech. CP Frederik and CP Mary were a match made in heaven.

More specifically, she is from Tasmania. Danish accent is quite close to the way we already talk, so the only struggle for her is vocabulary.

Michelle Pamela , this is what we do here in Europe. I didn’t speak a word of German, when I came to Germany at age 29, but I have been fluent now for many years. When you’re hearing it all around you every day, it makes it easier too.

When i discovered this royalty I have just fallen in love with their ways, their lifestyle, attitude and their love for each other. They make the British royalty pale by comparison. And she is truly a beautiful woman. They are exemplary figures of what being royalty is.

Crown Princess Mary is quoting both Søren Kierkegaard (Danish philosopher who found his contemporary Hans Christian Andersen [The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, etc] too childish and lightweight), Tove Ditlevsen (Danish author/poet/committed su|c|de), Simple Minds (Scotland, "All the Things She Said"), and maybe others I didn't catch.
As has probably been mentioned already, Crown Prince Frederik was trained as the equivalent of a Navy Seal, which was a secret until it was over and done with. I remember seeing on TV him being underwater and holding his breath for five full minutes. As I understood it, that was his last test, and was televised a few months after the test.
And then he did some awesome things in Greenland 🇬🇱 (part of the Danish Kingdom and a close neighbor of Northern Canada 🇨🇦). Which gave him a deep love for Greenland and good friends up there. And he always tears up when meeting his old friends (Inuits) from Greenland, and (almost) hugs them to death. :)

Today (Oct 15, 2023) we celebrated the 18 year birthday of their oldest son, prince Christian. 200 young ordinary people from all corners of the country were invited, and mingled all evening with royals. They all shared a table with a Danish or foreign prince or princess. Must have been quite special.
The royals of the three Scandinavian countries (Denmark 🇩🇰, Norway 🇳🇴 and Sweden 🇸🇪) are inter-married and family anyways, so a lot of those. But others too.
I admire this lady so much, she learned Danish which is one of the hardest languages and because she has so much confidence en herself. She deserves to be Queen!

What a beautiful speech what a beautiful couple. At the end of her speech when she quotes the poem in English her voice is so soothing almost hypnotising. This is the best speech l’ve ever heard & l play it over & over again.
And what a difficult language to learn and master the accent. She is incredibly intelligent as well, being a lawyer before she met Frederick.
