    Carrot cake is one of our favourite Singapore hawker food (street food). Contrary to its name, Singapore carrot cake is made of diakon. Here is the base recipe to make steam carrots cake before they are cook into ei white or black.
    Ingredients:
    Serves 3 - 4 pax
    -------
    Steamed carrot cake (base)
    -----------------------------------
    350g of white radish
    -----------------------------------
    --Flour mixture--
    200g of rice flour
    2 tablespoons of cornflour
    ½ teaspoon of salt
    250ml of water
    1 tablespoon of cooking oil
    -----------------------------------
    600ml of water
    125ml of water (add after mixing the flour mixture with the white radish)

    this is not the real carrot orange carrot recipe i am looking for .... nor a cake but ..an appetizer or hors-d'oeuvre side dish....this is ´´´´daikon mochi ....´´´´? if, and that is delicious too and i wanted a recipee someday too...so chers to that .."l ove them both so thank you...

      @@esteeinsweden I mean chiller. My refrigerator has 2 doors. Upper for frozen, the below for the chiller.

      In chiller, 2-3 days max in air tight containers or plastic bag.

      Don't worry, it will be harden when cooled down..

    May I know why is it that my carrot cake is still soft after freezing? I have reduced the amount of water as my daikon released a lot of water while cooking...

      Yes, it should be soft. Microwave it with a little water first to "steam" the carrots cake if it's dry.

      Did you cut the carrots cake into cubes before you freeze it? I cutted mined.

    How long you can keep them in fridge?? Are they to be kept in freezer or normal fridge?

      I keep them in freezer. It can last for 6 months.

    Hi there. Pls share some other recipies call for tapioca flour but instead you used corn flour. Is it interchangable? Also very nice simple video. Good job

      I tried tapicoca flour recipe before, it was very sticky and doesn't have the authentic consistency like original carrots cake. Are you allergic to corn flour?

    Your recipe states 200g rice flour but in the video you said 400g, so ??

      Oh may be I forgot to mentioned that I had doubled the amount. I did it because the daikon was too big.

      @@seriouseater7159 mine was a big radish too so i used 400g rice flour. based on the recipe above i would need 500ml water but i used only 400ml because i steamed my radish so my radish had quite a bit of water itself already. then i just added a bit of water from rinsing the inner of my radish and flour mix pot. Turned out better than expected. so i would think add less water first. by the time i transferred to my pan, it was quite firm. but after steaming for an hour, it was just right.
