A small place I used to go to, had something friends called Vitamin Soup. It was made for frequent customers and had Lotus root, amongst other vegetables and things I didn't recognize. I really appreciate Daddy Lau's instructions. He gives details and the reasoning behind them. He also gives alternatives and the tastes or textures desired. @@MadeWithLau You are quite welcome! I will definitely make Daddy Lau's recipe and I'm sure I will enjoy it. I can't even explain how much I love this channel. I lost my grandmother recently and as an international student in the UK, these videos give me a feeling of home... It feels like a parent teaching me how to cook. I especially like the sit-down mealtimes and I put it on in the background and it just transports me back home listening to the adults chatting 🥺 Thank you for this channel...

please never delete this channel it is so precious to me. I'm a second generation cantonese living in Europe and lately made the tomato-egg dish you posted on your channel for my parents and they liked it :) it's one of my cantonese favorites and now I finally know how to nail it.
What I love about Mr. Lau’s cooking is that he speaks Cantonese!!! 👏 👏 👏 His instructions is very clear and understandable; not like some people who holds back on secret ingredient… I love that he is very interpersonal with his opinions and suggestions of adding or substituting with certain ingredients. Overall, I enjoyed watching the family ambiance that you all gather around the table and share the tasty meal that your dad prepared and light hearted conversation as well!!!👍👍👍
Since my mom passed away a few years ago, I miss not only her but the traditional Chinese cuisine that was defined as genuine comfort food. Thank you so much for keeping Chinese traditional alive, especially for the jook sing generations, lol. You have a beautiful loving family and why this channel has become my favorite. Aw thank you so much Allan! So grateful to have you here and to know that these videos mean as much to you as they do to me. Happy New Year to you and your family. We can’t wait to continue sharing many more recipes with you! ❤️
For me, they represent my whole upbringing. We only spoke Cantonese in the house and knew other Cantonese families, but that past is gradually going away for me, as I'm more Americanized but still wish to retain my Canto-side. These videos are like a record of that culture I grew up in, and a way for me to reconnect.

This is the best turnip cake recipe out there. I love the technique of cooking the rice flour twice which removes the floury taste. The result is soft and pillowy cake without falling apart. I love that you have this channel on RUclips, I get to learn to make all of my favorite recipes the authentic way.
My wife is Taiwanese. She and I used your proportions (2lb shredded radish, 0.5lb rice flour, 1.5 c water) in our basic radish cakes (no shrimp, etc). It turned out perfectly!!! Thanks.

I’ve made this twice now and it is truly the most delicious turnip cake I’ve ever had - so much better than any I’ve had in restaurants! The recipe is perfect. The The hardest thing is the wait until cool enough to cut. It is a really comforting dish and the amount in this recipe is enough to freeze some portions. I froze slices separated by non-stick paper so I can take out as many slices as I want which will be fried. I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t had turnip cake to try this. It’s so more-ish.
I love Mama Lau so much, as she is, so simple, so frank, so herself, no air, no pretences, just love for her husband, her son and the rest of the family - that for her is more than she could ever ask for in life ❤
Yes! A childhood favorite. - Love the new edit where you add the family talks about the ingredients during the cooking segment. It feels cohesive and shows a glimpse to what we can expect at the end of the video. - Chef Dad Lau seems to be enjoying himself more and more; his ta-da singing after the finished steaming sounded so excited. He's really in his element! - Hope you and your family are doing well. Take care of yourself too, Randy
Aw yay! So happy to hear you are enjoying the new cuts @Alvina & @DinesyWinesy! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I think dad really is getting more and more into it which is awesome to see. Super grateful for your support and can't wait to keep sharing 🙏🏼❤️
I liked the fact that daddy Lau is using Cantonese as cooking instructions, brings back my memories of my grandfather (who was also a cook in the Netherlands - but he passed away when I was 13 years old). Keep up the good job! Thank you.
You are single-handedly helping me learn and reconnect with my roots, and leveling up my mom's (admittedly excellent) recipes! Plus, you guys use actual units of measurements, unlike any old-country kinda recipe. Forever grateful!
This is so great to watch especially as my dad has been gone for over 10 years but I still miss him and his cooking. Daddy Lau reminds me a lot of him and so nice to listen to the Cantonese and remember all these classics and favourites that we are so lucky to have as our culture! Thank You All and Babies too!
I made this for CNY 2023. It was so delicious even the kids who didn’t like turnip ate it. The instructions was super simple. The tough part was mixing the flour in. Good arm workout though. I also made the CNY cake, 年糕. It was more popular for the older folks and red bean lovers. 年糕 was a first time for me to make. It was the easiest cake batter ever. I will treasure these 2 recipes forever. Thank you Mr. Lau!
Your poor son, I'm sure he wishes he can eat all the delicious food that his Yeh Yeh cooks for everyone! On another note, I found this channel on Subtle Canto Traits, and as a 1st gen ABC trying to learn more about my culture and cook my favorite foods growing up, this channel truly is amazing. It makes me a little emotional just watching these videos and seeing how you are preserving these family traditions for your son hits home for me as I envision how I want to pass on the same traditions to my future children with my fiance. I also really appreciate the subtitles! It helps me to keep up with the little Cantonese that I know and hopefully I can get better at it the more I watch these videos. Thanks for all your hard work!
Again, this video is amazing. Daddy Lau is the dad that many of us would like to have. You are so lucky Randy, to grow up in a family that is filled with so much love. It's obvious from your video that your parents love each other very much. The 'meal time' segment is such an excellent idea.
Daddy Lau gives excellent detailed explanations. He presents very well; a natural master teacher chef. Liked how you infused Q and A during prep and cooking time.
Accidentally found your family on RUclips. Love him your dad !! A classic representative of a Chinese gentleman, in the olden days. Warm and willing to share. Thank you for sharing your family joys.
Wow thank you so much for your kind comment about dad Liz! We are so grateful that you found our channel, and we can’t wait to continue sharing many more recipes with you! ❤️
This really is a heartwarming channel! Daddy Lau's demeanour reminds me so much of my beloved grandfather, who raised me and gave me so many fond childhood memories, and his cooking expertise reminds me of my dad, who's also a chef! It would be so awesome if you guys can do more videos on 广式包点 such as 蛋挞,菠萝包,马蹄糕,肠粉, etc so I can learn to make them for my parents! 😅❤
Randy's daddy is very detailed in explaining all the cooking tips which are very useful and handy to us and his techniques of cooking is easy to follow
OH MY GODDDD. Randy, your dad's recipe is amazing 😭❤️ I just made the vegan version of this with dried mushroom and it turned out very delicious. This is legit, you guys. Please try making this !!! It's a 💯 for me 😍 Please never stop making recipes ❤️
More than a food channel. Brings alot of cultural values across and food-family related memories for many Asians. Plus all the cooking tips..invaluable. Thank you uncle and aunty Lau! So blessed by your sharing.
A very lovely, closely-knit family. A lot of love and warmth. Father Lau's cooking skills are indeed amazing. I love how Mummy Lau speaks. Very cute and and from the heart.
Looking at this recipe since New Years is around the corner. As an ABC I really appreciate that the video is a mix of Cantonese and English. It makes me feel at home!
Unbelievable the absolute best channel on RUclips or television or anywhere. I'm so happy to have found you. I will make your recipes one by one in my own kitchen. I just cooked this today and it was a great success. It was so delicious. I'm so happy that I finally found a lor bak gou recipe that taste like home. 非常感谢 Chef Lau for sharing his recipe. Love this channel so much. His passion for cooking definitely makes me want to learn more from his channel 👍👍👍
This channel is a gem. All the recipes are my favorites. I am glad that I have these videos and recipes so I can recreate the dishes, since my family doesn't cook a lot of these dishes (we mostly do takeout)
❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 An excellent teacher Uncle Lau. Makes a lot of sense in his explanation. Also both you and Kat asked the right questions. Helps us a lot in understanding the making of the dishes not just this video but the rest so far that I have seen. Good job. Keep up the good work guys ‼️ 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You are so lucky to have a dad who was a chef that you can enjoy so many delicious cantonese cuisine and I hope you do not mind me saying while you dad is still around and learn some cooking from him and do it yourself for your family so that this delicious food can still be enjoyed if he is not around ...Thank you for the video and I will try to do it
I've tried making your dad's recipe this week. It's definitely the best recipe I've tried so far. It's even better than the ones served at the dim sum restaurants. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing the skill of Chinese cooking in Cantonese and the English language that I can educate my next generation how to cook Chinese food.Thank you so much.

I found your channel several months ago…. I cry. I remember my dad’s love languange of cooking for us.. i remember him teaching me cooking😢. Thank you for this channel. Pray for you and fam✨
This is the best channel! Listening to Daddy Lau reminds me of my mom teaching me how to do this. My mom also made this with left over ham and added chopped cilantro as well. Thanks, Randy for another great video!
Amazing that she did that Betty! We have yet to make with bacon or ham, but after filming I was like that sounds pretty delicious! Grateful for your support with another video. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
@@MadeWithLau Thanks, Randy. How about a recipe for steamed meat patty and some simple soups. My mom also made great pig trotters and roasted chicken she marinated with soybean sauce and garlic. 😋
While I'm always happy to see Daddy Lau do his cooking magic -- I'm really impressed by how Randy is respectful to his parents and wife. Mom & Dad Lau, thank you for imparting such wonderful qualities in your son. ❤️🙌🙏👏
No clue why I don't know about this channel until a few days ago when this video popped up while I searched for Chinese New Year cooking recipes. I have watched a few of your other videos for now. They are all brilliant. Better late than never, I will subscribe and continue to watch. I am a new retiree. I will make it one of my to do list to follow you and improve my cooking. What a blessing😇 Grandpa Lau: 米之蓮水準大厨👍👍👏👏 謝謝你這麽用心,分享厨藝心得。 Randy, kudos to your hard work and time. It's more than cooking that your are recording. You are also sharing what is priceless, your caring and loving family. Your channel is bilingual, just right for many overseas Chinese families like mine. So loving it. Thank You!
Thanks Randy for setting up this channel which has now become my favorite! Will be making this your dad’s way which is slightly different from my mom’s. I am so enjoying the interaction at the end of your videos. Many thanks again.
Thanks so much for tuning into another video G Souza! Can't wait for you to make dad's version and let us know what you think. If you have any suggestions from your mom's we'd love to hear too!
Great recipe! Works like a charm. Thank you so much. My mom used to cook lo bak gou for special occasions. She passed away this year. And in her honor, and to celebrate my brother's birthday I wanted to try make chinese turnip cake. So after work last night I spent a few hours to make the cake. Following chef Lau's instructions. My mom's surname was also Lau as well. Tonight I took turnip cake out the fridge. Hoped for the best. Consistency was good. I fried it up. Dad and brother loved it. Thanks chef Lau. Mom Lau up in heaven would definitely approve :)
Love your channel especially how the whole family interact with each other with love and harmony together. Given today's family, it's hard to find different generation living together under one roof as happy as your family. Give you 100 likes!
Aw thank you P. Kwong! We actually live separately but only about 5 minutes away so we see each other many times every week! Feel grateful to have my family so close and that we all want to and enjoy spending time together 🥰
Wow, thanks to Daddy Lau for the advice on using the smaller lid to make the food cook faster! I never would have thought of doing that, it is a pro tip for sure! I also have never cooked with a chinese turnip before, I probably assumed it was daikon when I have been in Ranch 99. I want to make his seafood tofu soup! It is one of my favorites!
So good! I think we'll need to do that recipe soon. We've had a bunch of requests for it now 😋❤️ Can't wait for you to try cooking with a Chinese Turnip or try making this dish. Also YES learning so much each time with dad. Makes so much sense now why he uses the smaller lid 🤯🙌
Thank you so much for sharing, Radish/Turnip cakes cooking are all my favourites. The best way I like is to stir fired them, 炒萝卜糕,its mainly a South East Asian favourites too. Would like to thanks Mr.Lau for highlighting a few main points of doing and to store the cake. 多谢您,刘先生。
I just made a dim sum meal for my family and friends: My son is adopted from Korea & he HATES turkey, even though he arrived here at 4 mos old. Soooo I make different international meals for him. Last Christmas was a Mexican feast with tamales, his Arrival Day this year was Hawaiian food, and for the dim sum meal, I used Daddy Lau’s Lo Mai Gai (which my son loves and which was both our favorite dish), turnip cake and Singapore noodle recipes. We also had guodze, chilled shrimp, miso marinated cod, and several different kinds of homemade pickles. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family recipes with us and keep them coming for more non-turkey feasts!
Thank you for making this video, I can finally make turnip cake myself. Making these traditional dishes have been a lost art in our family. I am so glad to be able to learn how to do this through Daddy Lau. Daddy Lau had made it so easy to follow. I love how he used the smaller lid to make the turnip cook faster!
Your family is absolutely lovely! Thanks for sharing all these recipes and tips. I've been watching all your videos together with my mom, and we really enjoy them! My mom is a great cook, but she's still picking up lots of tips and tricks from Daddy Lau!
Aw that's amazing to hear VL! We are so grateful you and your mom are enjoying our videos and picking up some tips. We hope you and your family are having a Happy New Year and we can’t wait to continue sharing many more recipes with you! ❤️
I’m kinda addicted to this educational cooking show, this is no only a channel that show how to cook, also a very informative channel that I gained a lot about the culture... 👍🏼
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I made turnip cake for the first time last night and finally got to eat it this morning. It tastes just like I remember from my childhood. I've moved to an area where the dim sum restauants are not great. I'm so happy to be able to make this at home now! Home is where the good dim sum is...❤
I love turnip cake! It’s one of my favorite things to order when we get dim sum, but they never pan fry it crispy enough. I will definitely be one of those people slicing my Lo Bak Goh super thin and frying on all sides!!!
i tried making this during pandemic, you're family is blessed and luck to have your grandpa , a great chef and cooks delish foods everyday. wish I can tast his cooking .
Thank you so much--this turned out great! I never thought I would be able to make something like this at home! I feel empowered and excited to try other dim sum favorites from you all!
YASSSSS!!! This is one of my favourite dishes of all time! I hope using a Korean lo bak is going to be okay as that's all I can get living in Korea...! Korean turnips look closer to the Chinese turnips (fatter in the middle) and they don't taste bitter.
Thank you so much for creating these amazing videos. My Great-Grandfather came to the US in the late 1890's from the same southern region of China as your family and I remember my Grandfather making many of the same dishes your Dad makes on this channel when I was growing up. In fact, Daddy Lau reminds me a lot of my Grandpa who passed away in 2005. Also, it's so cool that your parents call your son Hong Doy because growing up, my Grandparent's nickname for me was Lan Doy! It's so great to see you making these videos that not only showcases these classic and traditional Cantonese dishes, but also goes into the history of it all as well. Watching these videos really puts a smile on my face and helps me remember my own roots and the dishes I loved so much growing up and still do. In fact, my mom just made Taro cake over the Lunar New Year last month. Her recipe is great as well but we want to try it the way your Dad makes it. Keep the videos coming Randy!
Thanks so much Allen! It's an honor to do these videos and be able to capture not only the food, but also my parents stories and culture. So many memories in each dish for me. I hope that I will help my kids have many memories of family when they eat these in the future too. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and share your story. I appreciate you watching and can't wait to continue sharing more! 🙏🏼❤️
Just love Uncle Lau. Typical Chinese chef style, a bit of this, a dash of that, some of this, more of that. Here's wishing both your parents a long and happy life. Many thanks for sharing and preserving this great culture. Good luck.
Thank you so much SC Cheah 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️ We are so grateful that you are enjoying our family's videos and learning from dad! Happy New Year to you and your family. We can’t wait to continue sharing many more recipes with you! ❤️
When your mom mistakenly called the seafood tofu soup a beef soup and your Dad corrected her, that reminds me of how my parents interact lol. So Canto.
My mom makes this all-year round too! In addition to lap cherng, she likes to add lap yuk (Chinese cured pork belly) and shiitake mushrooms! This makes such a good quick and filling breakfast. :)
thank you so much for the expert how-to, i lost my mom this past year, and CNY isn't the same anymore without her amazing cooking. Thank to Mr. Lau, learning to cook Cantonese dishes will be my new year resolution this year. Thank you! Gung hay fat choy!
My ex-wife, who is from Guongzhou, made this, but she used Chinese white radishes instead of turnips. It was delicious. Now I know how she did it. Edit: I got to the end of the video and maybe what she used was daikon radish.
It's originally used using Chinese turnip though. They're similar in shape and texture, albeit Chinese turnip grows better in different climates than daikon.
Thanks for this! I've been through a few recipes, including my mom's recipe, and have been somewhat successful, but my texture is either too hard to too mushy. My mom's ratio is roughly 5 lbs of radish to 16oz of flour and I don't always get 5 lbs and I'm too lazy to do the math! I think using your site with the different measurements will help a lot with this! Great video as always!
Haha love it Dewbiedew!! If you go to our website we have the adjustable ingredient list: madewithlau.com/recipes/chinese-turnip-cake Hopefully it helps you to make the right ratio for whatever size you get. Can't wait for you to try! 😋
I frequently use so many of your recipes to cook my family dinner. I just wanted to say thank you. I value this channel so much and am so grateful for these recipes and stories. ❤
Nice video, Randy. Reminds me of old days, watching my grandma or mum making the same thing, precious memories. Also, great bonding with your dad too. He looked handsome when young and good with the flute. He looks and talks exactly like men of his age here in Malaysia, Hahaha....Btw, over here, Loh Pak is known in English, as Radish. Taro as Yam..Nice to see the same, being available and being loved over where you live. If you run out of topics to ask him, trying asking him about Wong Fei Hoong, the legend before Bruce Lee and Ip Man, Hahaha....Cheers.
Thanks so much See Chun! Really grateful you are enjoying the videos and it's bringing back good memories from the old days 🥰 Also thanks for the kind words about dad. I bow down to him and hope to be as cool as him when I'm older 😆 Will do with asking dad about Wong Fei! Hope you are having a great week. Cheers to you for watching and supporting. Can't wait to share more.
He’s such a good grandpa! Loves his grandson so much! So good you will have these videos for him to watch as he gets older. Edit- the Chinese turnip looks close to the Korean radish. Do they taste the same?
Thanks so much Kimberly! We are so grateful to you for watching and supporting another video. I think it likely does taste pretty similar. Much like how the Chinese turnip is similar in taste to the Japanese daikon, I'm guessing the Korean radish is also very similar. We need to do a side by side taste test in the future!

Daddy Lau reminds me a lot of him and so nice to listen to the Cantonese and remember all these classics and favourites that we are so lucky to have as our culture! Thank You All and Babies too!
16:42 You really have a good wife..you gave her a piece of Lor Bak Gou and she gestured to be given to the elderly first...
🥰 Aw thank you! She's a wonderful person who loves my parents very much. Feel very blessed to have her as a wife.
@@MadeWithLau yessss I agree! your wife is very courteous and sweet. Happy for you two!
Was going to comment on that. Awesome
I also think that u are a very good husband who takes care of your wife well
I noticed that too!!!!!!!!
Your dad is the best. He truly loves his family. Thank you for sharing
Again, this video is amazing. Daddy Lau is the dad that many of us would like to have. You are so lucky Randy, to grow up in a family that is filled with so much love. It's obvious from your video that your parents love each other very much. The 'meal time' segment is such an excellent idea.
Thanks so much Elaine! I'm so grateful that I get to share Dad with you all. So happy to hear you can feel the love he shares through his food!
Watching Father Lau cook is such a therapeutic experience . Wise and calm man . This family is so blessed .thank you for sharing your blessings
Daddy Lau gives excellent detailed explanations. He presents very well; a natural master teacher chef. Liked how you infused Q and A during prep and cooking time.
Thank you so much Lisa! 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️ We are so grateful that you are enjoying our family's videos and learning from dad!

Do u have a recipe for Darm Tart
The editing is gold, keeps you engaged and the hanging out at the end is very heart warming! Loving the format!
Your dad is soooo kind and down to earth
🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️ Thank you Awa for your kind words about dad! Grateful that you watched and enjoyed another of our videos 🙏🏼

Your dad is so cute! Love how he shares his cooking lessons with passion.
🥰🥰 We love him and are so grateful to him!
I tried this and it turned out flavourful.. Yes like your mom said, I will make this all year round. Keep going uncle Lau and thanks for sharing.
Unbelievable the absolute best channel on RUclips or television or anywhere. I'm so happy to have found you. I will make your recipes one by one in my own kitchen. Thank you for sharing your brilliant artistry with us. Blessings to you dad and family. 🇨🇦🙋🌸🌸🌸❤✌🙏🙏🙏 from Beautiful British Columbia Canada.
This is now my favourite youtube cooking channel!! Your dad is awesome and thankyou for taking the effort to making these!
Chef Lau is really patient and so cute the way he entertains all the inquiries... thank you 🙏
❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 An excellent teacher Uncle Lau.
I just stumbled on your channel and am in love. I'm Chinese-Canadian and I've been learning to cook Chinese food and this is so helpful. Your dad's cutting skills are so good!
Aw yay! That makes us so happy to hear Sandy. We are so grateful that you found our channel, and we can’t wait to continue sharing many more recipes with you! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your family recipes! Your dad is awesome and my family enjoys watching him cook these amazing dishes. Thank you Lau family ❤️
What a blessing😇
Grandpa Lau: 米之蓮水準大厨👍👍👏👏
謝謝你這麽用心,分享厨藝心得。
Randy, kudos to your hard work and time. It's more than cooking that your are recording. You are also sharing what is priceless, your caring and loving family.
Your channel is bilingual, just right for many overseas Chinese families like mine. So loving it.
Thank You!
I love how easy your dad makes it!
His adorable sing songy transition from the steamer to the counter! So awesome!
Its Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month and I found your channel Uncle Lau. Simple home cooked meals Yumm. Terima Kasih from Asia.
Selamat Hari Raya
多谢您,刘先生。
Ahhh ur Dad is awesome and adorable! Makes me miss my grandfather.
🥰🥰 Hope each video brings back all sorts of happy memories of your grandfather 🙏🏼
多謝世伯,昨天學您教的做了一盤。今天煎了吃,太好吃了!感激不盡。
不用客氣,非常感謝您的支持!老劉㊗️您和家人平安健康快樂!
13:17 daddy lau's sound effects is precious
🎶🎶🎶 🥰
This is my favorite dish. It reminds me of my grandma. She made this for us a lot growing up.
Your dad is so cute, he gets excited when it’s finished 😭😭✨✨
Thank you Mr. Lau for showing us how to make Lor Bak Gou. My parents used to make this during Chinese New Year. I miss this so much! Thank you again.
Father Low is truly a gem to we Kwangtung people around the world...no fuss culinary delights ....two thumps👍👍 up to Low Jr and "LowShuk"
Grandpa really brings menus from my era back then...Chinese food is so long lasting and passed to generations as a heritage to remember and to serve
Also I love all the tips in between - it's extremely helpful.
Thanks so much PKL! Grateful to hear you enjoyed me adding the tips in between 🙏🏼
I just made a dim sum meal for my family and friends: My son is adopted from Korea & he HATES turkey, even though he arrived here at 4 mos old.
Your family is so wonderful ☺️ Papa Lau is so cool and wise
Fantastic channel. I learn so much here, and the warmth amongst your family members is radiating off the screen.
Daddy Lau reminds me so much of my mom who taught me similar cooking skills many years ago! Great videos!
Aw that's amazing P.Weber! So happy to hear that dad reminds you of how your mom taught you!
I’m kinda addicted to this educational cooking show, this is no only a channel that show how to cook, also a very informative channel that I gained a lot about the culture... 👍🏼
Please take care of Daddy Lau. He’s a gem. This is my favorite Dimsum items along with Har Gow.
🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️ ❤️
I hated this as a kid, my parents and grandmother loved it and always made me have some. Now it’s one of my favorites as well.
@@pct87 I loved this one didn't like the taro cake as much. Still love it
Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Father Lau is my go-to teacher for all things Cantonese! ❤
YASSSSS!!! This is one of my favourite dishes of all time! I hope using a Korean lo bak is going to be okay as that's all I can get living in Korea...! Korean turnips look closer to the Chinese turnips (fatter in the middle) and they don't taste bitter.
Absolutely! It should be pretty similar 🙌 Can't wait for you to try and let us know how it turns out 😋
My mom makes lo bak go with Korean radish. We find korean radish less bitter and more moisture 👍🏻👍🏻
@@beebeebee05 oh that's really good to know! Thank you♥
@@MadeWithLau I am actually making lap cheung and waiting for them to be dry. Once they are done, I will be making lo bak gow!
@@angelapark5603 WHAT?! We bow down to you for making your own! You need to make a video for us 😆🙌
Thank you so much for creating these amazing videos.
May I know what does Doy mean ?Is it called "zai" in Cantonese or Taishan dialect ?
I’m torturing myself for always watching your dad’s cooking at night 😂 so hungry for turnip cake now..one of my dim sum favorites!
Hahaha dangerous Connie!!
Your Dad is a Great Chef n wonderful teacher. Thank you for sharing 🙏
I was waiting for this after seeing the taro cake one!
Yay! We are so glad we could deliver on this recipe James!! Such a classic and so delicious. We hope you are able to make and enjoy soon 😋❤️
So Canto.
i miss this cake lofako...i worked in hongkong for 9 yrs..i really enjoyed eating lofako..im glad i found this recipe in youtube...
My mom makes this all-year round too! In addition to lap cherng, she likes to add lap yuk (Chinese cured pork belly) and shiitake mushrooms! This makes such a good quick and filling breakfast. :)
Oh yummmm! That sounds like a delicious addition Terri. Thanks for sharing. We'll need to try that one at home too 😋
Bingo! It is a breakfast dish.
thank you so much for the expert how-to, i lost my mom this past year, and CNY isn't the same anymore without her amazing cooking.
Really enjoy this channel and the joy of cooking from your dad! Must preserve all his amazing recipes and techniques
Daddy Lau is an awesome cook! And his explanations & tips are so valueable. He makes cooking looks so simple...
Thank you so much Josephine 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♀️ We are so grateful that you are enjoying our family's videos and learning from dad!
