  • On May 3, 2016, Jovanna Burney called the San Antonio police to report her sister, 29-year-old Bianca Carrasco, missing. Jovanna explained that she hadn’t heard from Bianca since the afternoon of May 1, and starting that night, Bianca’s phone had been turned off. Jovanna asked Bianca’s husband, Daniel, what was going on. He said that he and Bianca had a fight on the night of May 1, and she walked away. He claimed he never saw her again. A subsequent investigation led the police to suspect foul play was involved, but Bianca has never been found. It’s been just over eight years since Bianca disappeared, and investigators are still searching for her…
    Bianca Carrasco was last seen on May 1, 2016, in the 16000 block of Walnut Creek Drive in San Antonio, Texas. At the time of her disappearance, Bianca, who is Latina, had dark brown shoulder-length hair and weighed 125 pounds. She has brown eyes and is 5'1" tall. Bianca wears contacts, has a large surgical scar on her abdomen, and a tattoo of the letter “B” on her hip.
    If you have any information about Bianca's case you can call San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP. They are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
    If you’d like to stay up to date on Bianca’s case, please join her Facebook page by searching “Help Us Find Answers For Bianca Carrasco”.

    Thank you Derrick for doing coverage on my sister’s case. While appreciate your coverage and willingness, in the future, it may be better for your show to speak to a family member. There are a lot of details missing and I’ll do my best to answer in the comments but I just wanted to encourage you to attempt to speak to families in a missing person case. It’s vital especially when these cases NEED all the media they can get for LE and any suspect to feel the pressure to speak up and do something.
    For those reading: please know that in the very beginning of this investigation, I made sure that police, myself and anyone else, that we did not miss anything. As dishonest as her husband was being I wasn’t dumb and didn’t want anyone jumping to conclusions in fear that we would not find her if we did that. Sadly all roads still point to him. He cared so much about losing her and all of a sudden that was gone that Monday following her disappearance. Her kids heard him threating her prior to (why CPS felt it was necessary to remove them immediately) He took the youngest with him that night. And I ask why? He knew that she was only 4 and if the 2 older ones went to school she could not be left alone. He told me multiple times not to call police or let anyone know on social media. He moved out of their house a few weeks later and leased it out. He moved back into the home in Feb 2016, a few months after he got the kids back and the CPS case was closed. This man has a new girlfriend who has been in our family since we were little kids (an aunt on my dad’s side). The worst of all of this is he has kept the kids from most of the family, embedded in their head that their mother was a horrible mother, walked away from their house and went to Mexico (anyone who knows my sister knows Mexico would not be her destination of choice🙄) We have had events in San Antonio and even witnessed her 17 year old son with the girlfriend taking down missing person flyers. I’ve had the oldest tell me this is embarrassing and tell me not to put up flyers! And pretty much discourage me from looking for their mom. Yall…this is beyond heartbreaking!!! Project Absentis has offered him a polygraph test and he refuses to respond. Why a lawyer? Why no answers to any questions from
    LE?! Make it make sense!!!😭
    I plead with anyone who comes across this…PLEASE SHARE any flyer, post, podcast, etc on here, TikTok, FB, Twitter…there’s accounts to help raise awareness! The pressure must RISE!
    Not so fun fact: I just found out last year that there was items sitting there, that were never tested for evidence😭

    Daniel had already proven he was a controlling, manipulative person just by quitting his oil field job and moving permanently to San Antonio to pursue Bianca after she had already moved on. I feel like as soon as Bianca said the word "divorce" it set Daniel off and he murdered her. It's obvious this is a crime of passion, police just need that ONE thing to help them prove it. They need to stay on Daniel's ass, eventually he will fold. Maybe even interview his friends and family? I'm sure he's either confessed or has said something that hinted he had something to do with it to someone. A narcissist like him NEEDS to tell somebody. Interview their children as well, according to Daniel himself they were all 3 there at the house when it most likely occurred. They either saw or heard something, but have no idea how big it could be for the case. Prayers to Bianca's loved ones and I hope justice comes soon. Side note: reminds me of the Mica Miller, Susan Powell and even Julie Jensen cases "if something happens to me, (blank) did it." I have even sent out a mass text to my friends and family saying the exact same thing when I was in a DV relationship. A woman doesn't just say things like that unless they KNOW deep down in their soul that their S/O is capable of hurting them, IMHO. Thanks Derrick, for bringing light back to this case and challenging the PD to do their jobs!!

    I know it's not the intention, but I feel like a lot of the cases that get cold are due to lack of police engagement. I feel like the police could have done more, but I know that they can't always disclose everything they have on a case, so I'm just left wondering... If I had gotten into true crime when I was younger, I might have just pushed myself to be an investigator or something adjacent to that. A lot of these cases break my heart.

Hopefully I'm wrong and they've collected Daniel's cell phone history and pings. Hopefully they've searched his car. Hopefully they've looked at all of Bianca's communications regarding her fears about Daniel. It's all hopeful, but LE isn't answering for any of it. Hopefully they're keeping all the info close to the vest so they can eventually make an arrest and bring justice for Bianca and her loved ones.❤

He drove that night all the way to west Texas from San Antonio. Anyone who knows what it’s like driving west of Texas knows that there’s nothing out on the way. Lots of oil rigs and dirt land. And who knows how long he took to get there that night and where she could be😭

    I think you're absolutely spot on with this one, Derrick. I'm sure that some of what Daniel is saying actually happened and is true but he's just not telling everything that happened. To me he's the most obvious suspect with a clear motive to have done harm to Bianca. Sometimes when someone is losing the person who they consider the most important person in their life they lose control and I think it seems like that's what happened here. I feel like Daniel is banking on the authorities not being able to prove anything. I hope one day Bianca's family gets answers.

    I appreciate the devils advocate playing. However we all know who made her disappear. If it wasn't Dan then he would have been super concerned that Bianca didn't ever come back home. And after he was so adamant in trying to make things work?! Yeah, no. And even if he didn't want to call the cops because he thought maybe she was with someone else,he never called HER PHONE? he never called her best friend to see if Bianca was okay?! He won't get away with it. Even if the cops don't get him for this, karma will prevail and he'll get his in some way. She probably did walk away from a fight,or went outside to not fight in the house with the kids home. But where would he have taken her body? Well, maybe like Chris Watts he took her out to an oil field somewhere remote and no one would ever look there.

He says he took her to Odessa to his mother’s but that wouldn’t have been normal. I am thinking that since she was having an affair, her and Daniel probably got into a fight and he told her to leave. She probably tried to take her phone and car and he probably told her that if he paid for it she can't take it (I've had this personally happen to me). I'm thinking that she turned her phone off since she was leaving it because she didn't want Daniel to know if she received any calls. He probably didn't think she would actually leave or stay gone so when she didn't come back in the amount of time he thought she would, I think he tracked her down and killed her. Was his car ever checked for evidence? Does he even still have the vehicle and if not, how soon after her disappearance did he get rid of it?

    • @jovannaburney
      @jovannaburney Месяц назад +2

      Based on what I was told by him and her children this is what I picture. They put the kids to bed, “Steve is texting her” Husband gets ticked off, takes her phone. They go walking past the kids rooms (kids were interviewed) and they go downstairs. This is when I believe he hurt her. He pulls his car into the garage goes, puts my sis in the trunk, goes and gets the 4 year old (she wouldn’t have gone to school the next day) puts her in the car and makes his way slowly to Odessa. He thinks the 2 older kids will get up and go to school the morning…he was actually ticked that they didn’t. And CPS was involved then. SAPD could’ve used that CPS case and it would’ve almost did their work for them…sadly they did not. But worse her oldest just graduated from HS and believes her mother walked away from them. I am not having that!
