  • Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
  • On the morning of July 9, 1990, 22-year-old Princella Eppes, a beloved daughter and sister, did not show up for work. This was highly unusual, so Princella’s boss contacted her apartment complex. That afternoon, a maintenance worker was sent to check on her. Upon entering her apartment, he found Princella murdered in her bed. Almost immediately, her case went cold, leaving her family devastated and frustrated. It’s been almost 34 years since Princella was killed, and investigators are still searching for the person responsible…
    Princella Eppes was last seen in the parking lot of her Atlanta apartment building on July 6, 1990, between 11:00 pm and 11:45 pm. She was with a man described as around six feet tall, slim, with dark skin. A gunshot was later heard between midnight and 1:00 am.
    If you have any information in this case, please call the Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 or use the online form at CrimestoppersAtlanta.org. You may be eligible for a reward.
    If you’d like to stay up to date with Princella’s case, please join the Facebook group, “Princella Yolanda Eppes Memorial”.

    Poor Princella. Hearing her family talk about her was lovely but so devastating. She seemed like a bright light to so many. To have her ripped away so young and so senselessly is heartbreaking. RIP

    The cop being there so close to her murder is HIGHLY suspicious, especially with his history. It seems like too much of a coincidence. And it would explain why her case wasn't properly investigated at the time.

      It could also be a so-called friend of this evil, but I believe it is the evil cop who is rehired just because someone claims that they are Christian and have changed their ways doesn't mean that they truly are and they've truly changed for the better. There are so many false converts to Christianity that have never been truly Born Again Biblical Christian by the spirit of God. I used to be this type of hypocrite I used to claim I was a Christian but I was not born again I didn't change for the better my heart was evil and wicked but now that I know how sinful it is to a holy God, now I understand sin means it is exceedingly sinful to sin, so by way of the ten Commandments I look at them like a mirror and I see myself for truly who I am, a rotten evil sinner, but now I truly am Born Again biblical Christian. †

    I think Princella’s family should talk to a lawyer about the blatant negligence of the police department. Not only did they not investigate properly the first time, but when they begged for the case to be reopened, they were lied to about evidence. It’s crazy that the LE department just brushed that off and said “oops sorry” AND the main person of interest is a dirty cop with a rap sheet? Come on now

      This reminds me of the Sandra Birchmore case in Staunton Mass (Next to Canton with many of the same LEO as Karen Read.) her death was determined to be a “suicide. There are some HEAVY facts that implicate a Leo And it was covered by the department and state police. She was found in what looked like a prisoner hanging themselves (tie to a knob or heavy furniture.)She had been “dating” a married officer. She was pregnant. This dbag admitted to sleeping with her when she was underage. She was part of a youth cadets program. They legit groomed her, “shared” her, and she stayed in an intimate relationship until her death.i believe she was 19.
      The last known person to be seen going in and out of her apartment hallway was this officer, with him attempting to be not identifiable on the way in, but he walked out like was unstoppable. I believe there was some pressure that he would leave his wife, and he was pressuring for her to terminate the pregnancy. He was the last one to see her. He said he was going to break it off with her.
      She didn’t kill herself. She was so excited for the baby. She wanted . She had supplies and such being delivered, and one package was delivered the day she was found-a crib.

    Hi Derrick,
    I've followed your podcast since the very beginning (been a fan of Stephanie and Crime Weekly for years too) and just like everyone on here, I feel so proud of what you've achieved with your solo podcast.
    I just wanted to let you know how inspiring you are to me, so much so that I've decided I'd like to start my own similar style podcast but with stories from the UK which is where I am. I have no idea what I'm doing or even how to get started, but I do know that I want to help families of missing and murdered people, the way that you do.

    The FBI needs to take over this case imo. And the police department needs to be sued. There is a major conflict of interest with their own cop as a suspect. Let the FBI vet that cop's alibi and not the entity that has stonewalled this case on purpose b/c that is what their behavior screams. Hanging up curtains? Yeah right.

    This sort of thing really blows my mind, and I see it time and time again with these cases where police officers just straight up don't do their jobs. I'm an AP specialist, and if I didn't process the invoices and payments for my company, I certainly wouldn't get away with it. If I don't do my job, I lose it. It's just crazy to me that I'm being held to a higher standard when in the grand scheme of things, my job isn't really that important. It's not just because the family deserves answers and justice but the fact that a murderer is still on the streets free to reoffend that this is so messed up. I hope that the family finds answers and gets justice for Princella!

    • @annieannie2887
      @annieannie2887 Месяц назад +5

      It's ridiculous. Law enforcement officers, judges, lawyers, medical professionals, social workers... All of them are exempt from any consequences when they fail or just damn right neglect to perform the bare minimum of their required duties.
      And they know it. Worse, they cover for each other.

    • @MsKatze
      @MsKatze Месяц назад +3

      @annieannie2887 Exactly! You also see this sort of crazy stuff with CPS workers on these true crime cases, too. It's like the jobs that should be held to the highest standards are the ones where people can get away with the absolute most. Worst of all, it can damage people's lives, damage the community, and sometimes even cost people their lives.

    Great video, I’m glad you’re bringing attention to this case. There’s no excuse for the ball being dropped so pitifully. I do think there’s a reason for it, and I think it’s because the detectives working the original case were worried it was one of their own, so they were circling the wagons. Sadly, it seems like this is still going on. I can only hope Princella and her family get the justice they deserve.

      It's funny how sharing someone with a victim really brings it home, but it does. Same age, hometown, school.
      Glad you are still here.

    My gosh! This poor family has had such an injustice bestowed upon their case! I feel horrible for them. I can’t wrap my head around WHY or HOW Princella’s case was so horribly mishandled and just pushed aside and forgotten about like it didn’t even matter. Man, this is really burning my ass!!! I pray their family finally has a detective working on their case that actually gives a rat’s ass this time! Just put some effort in for God’s sake! This is really going to stick with me. Derrick, please be sure to update us on Ladybird’s case.

    This seems like such a loving family! The story of her getting back the suitcase was great! You could tell in her families voices how much she meant to them. And her poor Mum.. when she said maybe she just didnt matter(to the police) Omg that got me. She does matter! She matters to everyone who loved her. This is just tragic 😔

    I’d love to see you do a podcast on Patti Adkins out of Marysville, Ohio. She’s been missing for 23 years as of June 28th. Her family needs closure 😞

    sounds like a lawsuit is necessary along with a change of law.. if a case is cold for 5 years and the family want to hire their own private team the authorities should have to hand everything over.

    I hate the culture of police departments. They need to start holding their fellow co workers accountable and not be in fear of retaliation. See something, say something. Thank you Derrick for not being afraid of saying the part about a potential cover up especially since you are a former law enforcement officer.
    Princella deserves justice, and the family deserves answers.
