I used to fish Santee and the canal area as a kid. We stayed at Tiny Lund's Camp a couple of times. The fishing was so good then that if it was too windy on the big lakes you could fish near the docks for catfish and almost catch fish at will. Great times and memories.

Been there a few times and need to go back. Doesn't look like much has changed. Circa 2000 Capt John was our guide. Crusty old guy. Didn't catch much fish those few times but he was a memory my now wife and myself talk about often. Can't remember the other guide but my employees filled a Toyota truck bed with catfish pulling an all nighter and driving home. Another night the striped bass were hitting like crazy.

Why do so many call lakes moultrie and marion The Santee? Its correct name is Santee Cooper Lakes,,a true treasure for anyone that lives nearby as i do

I lived in the area of South Carolina for 14 years have caught a lot of catfish it’s a fantastic Set Of Lakes … Blacks is a favorite of mine and also my preferred guide is Brian Thornhill He will put you on the fish believe me I take a lot of coolers He can get them 👍🏻
