I think we approached this game wrong. We should have stuck to our defense first system and let the jackets make their mistakes. Instead, the offensive guys got excited because it’s the jackets and we went outside of our systems and gave up 2 terrible goals.

Tough loss. The effort was good but luck wasn’t on the Devils side this time. I guess the positives I can draw from this one is it shows what the boys are capable of. And it’s clear that Jack and Luke want to win and care about winning. The Rangers, on the other hand, have been in free fall mode to the point that I think some of them don’t care about winning. But we’ll see. Looking forward to going into the holiday break strong and Lets Go Devils!!!

That was a tough one, as well as they were playing even before the third period comeback (Not as great as Danao was gaslighting us to believe, but better then the score showed). At one point in the game the Devils had 28 shots against Merzļikins. 14 of which came from Jack and Luke alone. They had half the shots at that point. That is crazy. This is still a good team but I think its time for Fitz to start looking for that top 6 rental player to help carry this team to the promise land. A player to help compliment Jack and Bratter.
@Dirks_NUMA_Files They dominated the 2nd and 3rd periods bigtime. It is a shame that we made another goalie look like a superhero. I think Fitz gets more of a middle 6 kinda guy. It is going to be difficult to get a true T6 with the cap situation. Palat has played admirably the last couple weeks with PB&J. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
Game just had a sense that it wasn't going to happen. How many games we win in a row means nothing. Team already should have the mentality they need to win the next one, that's all. Onward and upward, hopefully we get the puck luck in the playoffs.

But holy shit look at that hard push in the final 5 minutes and how fired up and PISSED Luke was over the 4th goal. Bro, these boys are gonna be scary ravenous in the playoffs. I love the energy. I 100% agree with u. Only Luke Hughes and Brett Pesce played decent last night. The other 4 were not noticeable. Some of our forwards played well, but they weren’t trying a variety of shots.

im sorry but in games like that where the goalie is totally standing on his head, the game becomes catered to the bottom six players to get a greasy goal and our fourth line is from the land of misfit toys. Fitzy makes fantastic trades when he makes them but he sits on his hands for a LONGGG time which we know from last season. Why do mediocre goalies turn into prime Hasek and Roy against the Devils? That said, the officiating was once again horrible. How do you call that interference when Timo is going to the net and can't stop his momentum? Columbus was holding, hooking, etc. all over the place as well. I'm confident they will bounce back Saturday and Monday!

a lot have been said about Palat but he improved. Not enough being said about Tatar and Haula and how their game disappeared. They've become passengers on this team. Expensive passangers. Lazar spends more time injured than playing. Bastian the same. Cotter apart from his heavy game is not showing enough to keep him beyond his contract. Bottom 6 right now is one of the worst in the league. Second line has slowed down. Goalkeeping has been shaky all season long so far. Except for defence what is there to be excited about? Points total? Ok..

You judge someone over extended period of time and so far that player didn't warrant many praises he got. And if he won't pick it up he'll stay a career 4th line grinder on a minimum contract with no scoring help or else get traded. I am sure Holtz and his goals would be nice to have on the second line. As of now that trade for Cotter is a disaster. Schmid and Holtz for 20 Cotter's points. What a win of a trade by Fitzgerald!

BS take with goalies. You pick a corner instead of shooting straight at a goalie which both Hughes brothers do all the time and it's a goal. They had more than enough opportunities to score more than a single meaningless Luke's goal. But they just don't have that sniper touch. Nobody does on the Devils

Disappear? He is 8th in the NHL in hits. Literally what we brought him here to do. People knew a player making 775,000 wasn't going to be an elite goal scorer...
He 100% has warranted the praise, he is a reason we are a much tougher team immediately. Stop expecting guys who are meant to be physical grinders to be goal scorers.
Holtz sucks, and he would not help this team at all. He also still makes more money than Cotter and still has produced less.... But yea, his 2 goals this season is so much better than Cotter's 7..... And Cotter's point share is nearly doubled. Terrible take.

BS take with goalies. You pick a corner instead of shooting straight at a goalie which both Hughes brothers do all the time and it's a goal. They had more than enough opportunities to score more than a single meaningless Luke's goal. But they just don't have that sniper touch. Nobody does on the Devils
Old Fashioned Country Cornbread
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
⅔ cup white sugar
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
1. Gather the ingredients.
2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
3. Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
4. Add milk, vegetable oil, and egg; whisk until well combined.
5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
6. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
7. Slice and enjoy!

I understand what keefe was trying to do when he pulled Allen then they scored their 4th goal, but i expected they let jack carry the puck for a bit like entering their zone, then they pull Allen
