Happy Birthday Mike! I was standing in my kitchen the other day when I caught something out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was a person and was about to go out and ask them if I could help them when I saw a doe come charging out from behind my shed. She was about 25 feet from the house and ran across the yard into the garden which was about a 60-foot run. She was immediately followed by a six-point buck who was followed by a two-point buck. Both bucks froze when I called for Ann to come look and we watched them for about five minutes. The six-point buck was nice and large, but the two-point buck was a little smaller. Great video thumbs up.

@@nathanscott7910 good point, but generally a unit like that would not have anything less than a 22ton cylinder and for the nice clean/knot free wood I see most people with that would be fine for a 6 way wedge... elm or gnarly maple maybe not...

mike, this type of splitting wood is awesome, I have a splitter international, timber devil with 2 splitting heads and 2 log lifts. easy to do 1000 cords a year. a tip just as easy to stack your rounds on the ground in a row, and have the trailer backed up to the front of your splitter, then as you move the unit backwards it fills the trailer from front to back, although we use a processor now we use this type of unit for our re-splits we do around 1000 cords a year and have been for 32 years. Have fun.

Having one knee replaced already and not being as sure footed as I once was, I figured it was cheap insurance. Cutting some firewood today my wife asked me if they would stop my saw. I told her about this video and just got done showing it to her. Needless to say, she's absolutely happy that I'm wearing them and she's glad that I spent the money on them. Keep up the great work!

Mike - Happy Birthday #56 🎂💥 Nice setup they have with the self propelled splitter… I like it. My first observation is that you can still split more wood per hour with your Wolf Ridge because of the 4 and 6 way wedges. The ergonomic design and large working area make it easy to customize the size of your splits if you want small, medium or larger pieces -vs- the 4 and 6 way wedge on the WR. I also like the hands free foot control. 👍

Hi Mike! Happy birthday 🎁🎈🎂🎉! I am very impressed with the Split Force 11/16 T. I am helping my 10 year old granddaughter build a firewood business and I believe that the SF 11/16T is a perfect system for her to grow into. She has a Split-Fire 1165 and a Amish made bundler currently. She has a stand in my front yard for bundles and loose stacks which is doing very well. She is becoming very independent for a 10 year old. She is cleaning up all my dead wood on my farm, besides having two tree services dropping off logs for processing. Really enjoy your videos.

pretty impressive piece of kit there Mike, the only 2 things thats could be improved upon is replacing the drive chains on the wheels with toothed drive belts to prevent corrosion and snapping, i am sure split force could find a stock toothed belt without too much problem, and the second thing is a slightly longer splitting blade by 3 or 4 inches to enable easier/faster splitting of larger logs :) just my two pence worth

Happy Birthday Mike, I will celebrate mine tomorrow. Now to the splitter, I can see where this one is not going to be as fast as the Woodbridge. You are handling each piece of wood and the trash from the wood can interfere since the wood has to stand upright. The other splitter the wood just goes right on the conveyer you don’t have to handle each piece. Another thing when you stack wood on the other you can just roll the next on down no lifting or holding in place. Love watching your videos.

Nice setup there. Still using a 26 ton Troy Bilt I bought from Lowes 25 years ago. Added a 4 way wedge though. Works well for me. I roll rounds from the truck onto the splitter then stack it soon as its split. Helps not to pick it up off the ground, then stack. With all the inflation I can probably sell it for more than I paid for it...

Happy Birthday Mike. I believe all good people were born in October or at least I'm partial. LOL I built the first commercial log splitter in 1977. I took it to the Chainsaw Event in Stephensville Wisconsin. The next year there were many manufacturers who also had built one similar to mine. Log splitters all stayed basically the same until recent years and all the sudden there are so many nice features that have been added. To be honest with you, if I were a customer of yours, I would prefer wood that was split on your machine. I feel the quality of the split is much better. Also, there are no safety features built into the self propelled splitter. To be honest, it made my wife and me a little nervous watching you split with it. I hope they will be able to make that machine safer to operate in the future.

Happy Birthday Mike. That log splitter has some great features for sure. With any new piece of equipment there's always a learning curve, and I'm sure if someone was using this all the time they would get good and fast at it and could process a lot of wood. Just from first watch though, I think the wolferidge is a lot faster and a lot less handling of the pieces and having to make multiple cuts. I like the 4 and 6 way wedge idea and only having to push the log through once and done. Both have there place and I would use either one if given the chance. Being self propelled is certainly a game changer for sure. love the video and look forward to more videos on the Split Force.

Happy Birthday Mike! I like the design of the Split Force with splitter and conveyer together, and the self propelled function is really nice for easier positioning I believe. Being self propelled I'm thinking it is not towable, and has to be trailered, which might be a negative for moving it between properties for some people. I checked out the website and it shows, "get a quote", which we all know means they will charge you as much as they think they can get from you, so kind of a negative for me. Have a day!

That splitter is a good fit for your operation at its current size. After all the multi wedge splitters I have owed I'm back to a fast single for a few reasons. Way less scrap, much better size control, and in some cases faster because you can split around knots instead of trying to push through them. I noticed a big difference in the look of the finished product. The multi head can make a very uniform size but it often looks shredded. The scrap issue seems small until you consider for every 10 trailer loads you could be looking at a load of scrap. That's a lot of waste. Being able to move that thing around so easy is priceless. I would say the only real negative is its not as portable which isn't an issue for you.

Key is, dont full cycle the piston, go till the wood pops, rotate it, pop it again, toss in the conveyor, it all separates there. It makes your production time alot quicker. And stack (stand up your rounds on the side table. 4 or 5 at a time, and pound through them. Cheers

I'd check on a multiple angle wedge arrangement. Too much reaching in and around the wedge for what the full potential of this piece could be and do. Also, the exit from the wedge to the conveyor is much more optimal on the Wolf Ridge to my way of thinking. However, I also am really impressed with the mobility and ability to precisely place the finished splits. My two cents worth from the hip! I will continue to follow this one with real interest! Keep up you wonderful work!

Happy Birthday Mike, I have been admiring one of these little splitters for over a year, Id love to have one here in my Gaston, Oregon firewood yard, I think it would do ok with my very large White Oak, usually around 36 to 48" in diameter .

Happy birthday Mike!, that's a pretty neat splitter!, especially being self propelled!, I use to think about owning a complete processer, set the logs in and watch!, lololo!. Morgans Good day !.

first: Happy Birthday to you Mike! Have fun at the cabin later & hope you get something.
That spliter looks nice but you have to handle the wood more and is slower than the Wolf Ridge by far. Self-propeled is nice but production is the name of the game. Go Wolf Ridge!

That splitter is pretty slick, if you like vertical splitting. Cycle time is fast enough, but a bit of flumbin around.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE! 🎉 Sorry to say but I see the problem with that self-propelled log splitter already. There seems to be ALOT more log maneuvering with the vertical splitter than the Wolf Ridge. I think that it would add a good bit of time to the whole process than it’s worth.

For maximum output, you could set the Wolf ridge splitter up along side the conveyor and you could run one and Eli could run the other. Twice as fast getting the wood split. I liked the view from above watching the wood get split. Lets you see the "cutting" of the rounds better.

Happy birthday Mike. that's a nice toy as a birthday present.. from Bangalore India. I just saw another youtuber who was using an old conveyor to load his dump truck for a delivery and was thinking about you and other youtubers who are to firewood delivery. The next tool that i would like to see is a wood stacker that can help you guys stack wood right after splitting or help in stacking the dump trailer for deliveries.

Lovely day, haven't visited in a while, so good it was your Birthday & hope you had a fun time. The intro music was lots of fun, can't always say that about people's musical choices, & the outro was lovely, most appropriate! Wish I could persuade my exhausted hubby to invest in a log splitter - I can only lift one-handed so the logs can't be overly heavy. A log splitter HAS to be quicker & less work than doing it manually - also easier on your shoulders & back! I think I felt a little nervous with this one that you had to be super conscious of where your hands were, I could see the potential for mishaps - certainly would need to be sensible if kids were about. But otherwise be interested to see how it stands up to having 30-40-ton of gum run through it. Thanks & Have a Great Year!

Finally got one. Iv been suggesting at least a review of this for a while.. only thing iv been asking about more is where is that mini mill you were going to set up and demo lol
I love it only thing different I'd wish is the wedge was a little longer and the head was set up like the Eastonmade axis to where it would pull off a stuck firewood round. Plus it be nice if you could lower the foot pedal as needed

Happy Birthday Mike. Seems like you’re having to handle the wood more times with this new splitter but to each his own. Maybe it can handle larger around pieces than your other one. Now you won’t need your excavator to do vertical splitting either. Have a great weekend.

I saw the Split Force many years ago. I thot it was such a good idea that I built my own,...with some improvements. I think mine would blow your doors off, it goes, sometimes, 2 1/4mph, and gets great mileage! Haven't been able to focus long enough to get an accurate mileage and fuel number, but it's great! I put a roof on it with a little cant, it functions like a traction wing when the splitter goes at top speed! And sheds sun, rain, and snow when needed at work. I put a couple other little nifties on it just for fun. You got me with your riding platform and hydraulic power steering! Looks to make really good bundle wood. You didn't say the price of it. Mine cost around $14,000, I think. I've built 8 splitters now, the big self propelled is absolutely the best of them!!

@@rogerl8488 I can't seem to get the hang of using bytes and digits. Worked too long and hard on this splitter to sell it. People tell me I should go into business building them. Nah! Not to brag too much, but that would foul up wood splitter business around the world. Don't want to create a catastrostroke like that! And, there are naturally contrary people who wouldn't go along, and probably keep building their own! What kind of world would that be!!!??
If you're building one, I could prob. help you improve it some. Thanks for your interest.
