I'm actually really proud that we can do something like this to our national anthem, and it not being a national scandal. I'm in South America at the moment, and if someone did that to the anthem in the country I'm in, it would be blasphemy.

I have always thought it was bloody cool that we have an anthem with "girt" in it! C'mon, seriously, there is no other anthem with an unusual word in it that is never used anywhere else. I think it is cool. Love this and remember watching it on telly. And, I love that at schools nowadays there are didgeridoos in the music. Sounds great.

"Girt" is a somewhat archaic word, but it fits the rhythm of the song.
