Question so the Nikon J1 is gonna be discontinued. will i still be able to find it useful if I purchase this one. meaning I wont have trouble finding memory card or anything will I? Thanks. I see the j1 is like 160.00 . would you recommend the V! or J1?
Great review . Looks like you had a lot of fun making it too. Came to the same conclusion. Far too pricey for the features an quality. Unless you 'need' something small the go get yourself an entry level DSLR.
Yes, an m43 with bigger sensor.. BUT have you compared the raw files from the J1/V1 an m43 sensor? Except for the higher resolution (that difference is only visible with the 16mp m43 sensor) the dynamic range is alot worse on the m43 sensors, and that LOADS much more important than higher resolution. The Raw files from the Nikon 1 system is actually amazing for its sensor size. You cant get short dof like on the m43, but you do get much better colours and better dynamic range with the Nikon 1.
I can get the V1 for 549 dollars, sounds pretty cheap to me (I live in the Netherlands). Should I get it or get the 5N? The video of te V1 seems to be sharper, but the APS-C sensor of the Sony is holding me back.
Hello, have you tried "photo SFX art" (search on Google for it)? There you can watch a great free video featuring the way to make awesome pictures. This made it possible for Matt to take photos which leave you with that wow-effect any time you look at them. It might help you as well...

This made it easier for Daniel to shoot photographs which have that jaw-dropping-effect after you look at them. Hopefully it helps you as well.

Already way overpriced - add on a flash and perhaps the GPS unit ( sorry - of course you can't as the Nikon ass shoe only fits ONE item0 and you've got a nasty/ ugly looking camera with limited REAL world specs. Sorry Nikon the 1 series are a HUGE MISTAKE. I look forward to you dumping them - may I suggest series 2 might be a good idea?

How to control parchar and Sutter speed for manual photography??

from what I can see the video modes on the J1 are mostly "fuzzy" with an in focus shot every so many frames... and the slow motion is totally fuzzy...
Hi, Im going to get the Nikon J1 for $530 so i was wondering if you think it would be worth it?
In case you forget which is the J1 and which is the V1, J1 is the White one and V1 is the Black one.
