      @42Caio 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Nietori I should be more specific, I think most Yugioh anime fall off pretty hard in the final few seasons. The memories arc for the original (it's barely coherent in the anime, the manga is fine), darkness in GX being weaker than the previous two arcs, Arc Cradle and the tournament before it being weaker than Dark Signers, and then Arc-V just crashing and burning from the Fusion Dimension onwards.
      I haven't watched new Yugioh series since so I don't know about Vrains, Sevens and Go Rush.
      But yeah, looking back it's usually the middle portion of Yugioh series that are the strongest parts (battle city, yubel, Dark Signers, even Zexal the best part of the Barian arc is the Vector-focused part and not the Don Thousand stuff). I was conflating the beginning and middle when I thought of "starting strong" because I still find those early arcs better than the later parts of those first 3 series, I guess.

      Yuma’s sub character is really great , especially the voice acting
      It really suits the philosophical idea of feeling the flow
      Outside of being a yugioh character
      The name of the monsters king of wishes , aspiring hope
      Hope roots
      And the idea that in the end SPOILER ALERT
      He won with future hope against hope dragon
      To get an idea , All the series astral was his own spirit that taught him hope via utopia
      But winning with the future means that even if his spirit will leave him in the astral world ,
      It let Yuma decide his own future ! The last piece of hope !
      The series was a philosophical journey that taught the meaning of hope in each and every duel

      doesn't matter if it is japanese or dub, Zexal is the worst. The first 3 series were by far the best (GX being my favorit) and after 5Ds there is a huuuuge drop in quality.
      What annoys me the most is Arc-V. It hat so much potential and had one of the strongest starts. But around a third into the series the drop in quality is insane. It dropped from one of the most promising series into one of the worst (if not the worst) series.
      6. Zexal
      5. Arc-V (could also be in spot 6.)
      4. Vrains

      @@te-jay6058 Gonna have to respectfully disagree with you there. Zexal was a great series and it did a lot of things better than it's predecessors despite it's slow start. It had amazing villains, great rivalries and one of the strongest final arcs in the series.

    • @te-jay6058
      @te-jay6058 3 месяца назад +1

      @@esteban8471 and there I disagree with you. The most interesting char was Quattro and thats pretty much it. Kaito and Shark were also ok, but the rest of the cast was so uninteresting (that is also a problem Vrains struggles with it's cast). Zexal and Vrains are the 2 series I struggle the most in remembering the names, because most of the cast is just like blank paper.
      The whole Barian arc also got on my nerves pretty quickly and that is supposed to be the best arc of Zexal.
      In addition to that we have the most annoying protagonist with by far the most boring duel style. Always summoning Utopia or one of it's variants. That is his whole strategy.
      The only good thing about Zexal is that Yuma wasn't as op as the other protagonists in their respective series. But that is the only good thing about Zexal.

    • @esteban8471
      @esteban8471 3 месяца назад +2

      @@te-jay6058 Can't say I agree with that take. The only characters I agree were forgettable were Yuma's batch of friends. Everyone else was a fun and fascinating character in their own right. The Arclight brothers and their dynamics with each of the main trio, Kaito's relationship with his brother, Shark's friendship with Yuma which was tested in the climax of the Barian saga, Yuma and Astral's dynamic, the Barians. The only really lame villain was Faker, and even then his motivation was solid. It handled the cast better than GX or Arc V in my opinion.
      Yeah, Zexal had a slow start, but it got better. Unlike GX which took two and a half seasons for the plot to start, 5DS which fell off, or Vrains which had more recap episodes than Wolverine had mutant powers, Zexal just got kept improving for me. After Kaito showed up, it kept going up. And yeah, Yuma summoned Utopia a lot, but all the protagonists summoned their ace monsters in situations where they could have gone for something better.
      And the duels were some of the best. Yuma vs Tron, Kaito vs Mizael, Nasch vs Vector, Yuma vs Nasch. So many emotionally driven duels with great action and clashing of ideals, and told their own stories while moving the story along. Especially Yuma vs Nasch.
      Although I can see why it might not be your cup of tea. It did have a slow start, Yuma does take a while to grow on you if you got used to the protagonists that came before him, and not every character is treated with the same fanfare (then again, name a Yugioh series that doesn't struggle on some level with the cast). But for what it's worth, Zexal is a great entry in the series in my opinion...at least in Japanese. The dub was certainly...something.

    Lemme tell ya, Zexal is by far the best Yugioh has to offer in terms of the anime. The main character is much like us when we first started playing the game, making him a lot more relatable than the previous main characters, who were all elite level duelists straight out of the first episode. Now to some, the more experienced player, this can come off as irritating at the beginning because he makes pretty basic mistakes, but as time passes he becomes far more competent, to a point where I believe at the peak of his powers, he is the strongest duelist out of all the shows combined. I'd recommend keeping an open mind about the first 12 episodes, as I can see why people struggle to get through them as it's mostly filler, but they're necessary for the growth of the main character and his relationship with one of his rivals/friends. But after that, you'll just get bangers after bangers after bangers! One last thing, and this thing doesn't bother me, but it for some reason infuriates other people, if you're gonna watch it dubbed, keep an open mind about the main character's voice, eventually you will get used to it, and if you're watching dub, just know that there is things removed from the Japanese dub that make the Zexal more compelling, it's one of the few gripes I have with Zexal in the dub version. Other than that, I'm positive you'll enjoy it! And hey, if you need a guide for the show, I'm your guy👍

    32:44 Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is very Dark with it being set in distant future, where the upper-class population live in Neo Domino City (New Domino City in the English version) and the lower class in a remote island where Domino's sewage is transported, Satellite. Seventeen years prior, a reactor called Moment within the city malfunctioned and caused a great earthquake that split the city in two parts: Satellite, the rundown and poverty-stricken part (also the former Domino City), and Neo Domino City, the wealthier and urban part. In order to keep the two areas separate, access to the city from the Satellite is strictly prohibited and can result in imprisonment. The protagonist Yusei Fudo, an aspiring Duelist from Satellite, builds his own Duel Runner (D-Wheel in the Japanese version), but his best friend Jack Atlas betrays him and steals his vehicle along with his most precious monster, Stardust Dragon, escaping to Neo Domino. Two years later, Yusei builds another Duel Runner and secretly travels to Neo Domino City to win back his Stardust Dragon.

It's set in the future where VR has become like Sword art online (another anime, same concept), where you can litterally be inside the vr game, like your whole concioussness. Your actual body is left behind, and you basicly just live in the vr world (until you log out of course). What makes this show interesting is the AI. In this series, there are Ai's known as "ignis", who were modelled after 6 children who were all kidnapped and kept captive, forced to use vr to scan their brains and create Ai with free wills. When i say free will, i mean COMPLETE free will, not some computer following a program, but they can think on their own. Only difference between them and humans are that they are made of code, but they have as much sentience as a human

    one of the great things about yugioh is how you can start at any series - and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. always something to enjoy no matter which one you pick up.
    (lots of senseless rambling below this point i'm very sorry if you decide to advance it got away from me - i care too much about the silly card game show)
    my personal favourites are gx, sevens and go rush (aside - you missed the most recent opening for go rush, which is understandable considering it's relatively new). sevens and go rush are really good and very funny - sevens is especially good if you're looking for something to watch that's easy and lighthearted since it has good jokes (i've heard the dub is also very funny) and compelling characters. sevens and go rush also have very good monster designs! go rush is... very wild to say the least but when the plot gets good in go rush i'm telling you it GETS GOOD. the second op (the last one you listened to) was done by bradio who are quite famous for having done flyers, the op to death parade. i was really happy to hear you praise the sevens and go rush ops a lot of the time people will react to ygo ops and discredit them because of the change in art style.
    also, i'm glad you liked the first op for gx. it's so funky i'm always sad when i see people dislike it. gx in general has one of my favourite osts in general (including ops and eds) but i'm also biased haha. also as you predicted, gx has a LOT of crazy shit! especially in season 1.
    i think zexal is perhaps one of the strongest though despite that. the visuals are really good, the character and monster designs are fun, it has some of the best character arcs in yugioh and also some of the best plot arcs in yugioh as well. all the ops (as you saw - my personal favourite is op 5) and eds slap. some real good stuff all round. highly recommend it!
    when it comes to the bridge shows (sevens and go rush) the duels i feel are a lot of fun to watch - they're accompanied by some very colourful characters that suit their decks and use them in fun ways. i've had people say about gallop (dm-vrains) ygo that you can kind of skip through the duels cause they can get kind of hard to follow and clunky but the nature of the different format of duels bridge ygo uses makes it a lot more streamlined. which makes sense, since master duel (gallop) yugioh duels weren't originally created at their base to be a real trading card game while rush duels were. this is all just my two cents though - the confusing nature of the duels is probably why my favourite of the gallop shows remains gx

    If you do watch these shows, I highly recommend keeping the theme of this video and watch the JP subs because the dub of the earlier series had a bad history of editing mature and darker themes to make the anime more kid friendly that it resulted in entire moments and even final arcs (GX/5D's) skipped over and never dubbed.
    And 54:20 is more of an anniversary OP which is why it showed the first 5 protags, but you wouldn't be too far off with the multiverse theory.

    Ok here’s the thing:
    Going in order is probably the best choice, as all series has a reference in some way shape or form to a previous series. Such as, Zexal might have a Gx reference, or etc. going in order will help you understand references, and also introduces new game mechanics slowly so it’s also better to understand the game.

    From watching the openings, it does seem that tech seems to advance a good bit between series. From OG Yugioh, to GX there isn't much difference. Then we have 5Ds, and their motorcycle duels. After that we got Zexel with those odd eye covers, which I assume are tech for augmented reality. Then we get to ARC-V, where the monsters are interactive now? Then after that we have Vrains, which appears to be a virtual reality.

    • @willfanofmanyii3751
      @willfanofmanyii3751 6 месяцев назад +2

      In Zexal, Duelists wear scouters, allowing them to watch the Duel and observe their monsters without issue. The duel field becomes a VR replication of the environment, fully destructible, while not interfering with bystanders at all.
      Arc-V ditched that, so now the monsters are fully solid and can damage the actual environment, and nobody seems to have an issue with that.
      Vrains, nobody duels IRL anymore. Everyone wears VR headsets, causing their physical bodies to collapse where they stand since they are now in the game mentally.

    Original Yu-Gi-Oh: A classic, pacing is atrocious like most anime in that era but still worth a watch for certain scenes/duels.
    Yu-Gi-Oh GX: This was my intro to the franchise and holds a special place in my heart because of it. Technically a direct sequel to the original Yu-Gi-Oh, but you don't really need to watch it in order to follow the plot. If you do watch it, you gotta watch it subbed. The 4th season of the show never made it to the West, due to 5Ds and the themes being pretty dark. Season 3 of GX is peak.
    Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds: Peak Yu-gi-oh. Very gritty and grounded (well, as grounded as a show set in a dystopian classist future with people playing card games on motorcycles can be).
    Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal: Part 1 of the show was a real drag. Part II was unironically great.
    Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V: Wasted potential in anime form. So many cool things but just felt super rushed especially towards the end.
    Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains: Unmitigated disaster, mostly due to drama on the admin/showrunner side.

    almost all of the series' protagonist has some sort of supernatural power or connection to the supernatural;
    - yugi himself has the spirit of an ancient pharaoh guiding him
    - gx's protagonist is the reincarnation of an individual destiny to wield the powers of the gentle darkness against a cosmic alien force called light of destruction and he later fuses his spirit with another being called yubel giving him those green and orange glowing eyes
    - 5ds protagonist is 1 of the 5 (later 6) signers who is a person selected by the draconic god called the crimson dragon to wield his powers so something like a priest or priestess of sorts
    - zexal's protagonist is a broken off piece of otherworldly divine being reborn as a mundane human
    - arc-v's protagonist is 1/4th of an evil overlord hell bent on taking over the world, said evil overlord was originally a much more innocent person but was slowly corrupted into a monster, with no real method to defeat him someone managed to split him into 4 individual neither with memories of who they once were and hoping that with the erosion of time the evil will eventually be purified
    - vrain's protagonist was abducted to partake in an inhuman experiment that led to the creation of advance AI when he was very young and now as an older teen years later wants revenge
    - seven's protagonist... have no idea, i never watched it
