Bonjour, Toujours intéressant de voir votre ingéniosité (concernant la grande fenêtre). Il faut quand même pas mal de savoir-faire. 💯💯 Always interesting to watch your ingenuity (big window). Not Everyone has your expertise . Well done
You certainly do a wonderful, good looking job when you make do with what is available. That ability is not common. What do you do with the old windows that you replace? I’m sure you are going to move the clutter in the guest room into storage that you find or create in the cellar or elsewhere. When we visit the in-laws we stay in a room like that and it is not pleasant.
Thanks for the video, and for showing the detail of some procedures. You mentioned that you patched the larger hole at the top of the window with plasterboard - is there anything magic to understand about that particular challenge - particularly given its location, and appreciating that the force of gravity would complicate the repair .... ?
I always hit the like button before we watch the video! We are sure it will be interesting. Looking at the introduction photo, your house is very tall. Is your internal staircase steep? Thank you from Australia.
That was a piece of timber that I had used as scaffolding when I repaired the top landing ceiling, they are screw holes from that. It is new, pre-treated roofing timber, so no woodworm
You do great work,I’m away with the RCN May till end of Aug, although I’m a Cmdr. My wife’s the admiral and I can assure you the tasks at the cottage and house are waiting. Problem is I’m inept with tools orDiY.🇨🇦
The new fixings are 120mm long screws that go through the frame into the brickwork. The original fixings are held on with 25mm screws through a piece of metal set in the plaster. My fixings are considerably stronger.

New windows look great!
Really nice
Have a great weekend everyone
I have been following you since your second video. I'm always excited to see what's come up next. Your tenacity is greatly appreciated.
Lovely view from the window, nicely framed.
Always do a great job
I've been watching your renovations before you had even 50 subs. I use to watch your video twice to help your channel. Everything looks wonderful.
Thank you for joining us on this journey
Great job. Windows look superb 😊
They look awesome ❤️🇨🇦
Superb demonstration.
Perfect fit well done.
Good job as always looks good😘
Always good to hit the thumbs up button which helps out the channel a lot! Great job as always.
Fab job. Well done.
I love the little tricks and tips you show us and all without fuss n palava. Thanks x
Very satisfying to see the window shutter transformation with the help of white paint! Your house is stunning.
I did not realize the large size of that window until you stood inside the frame of it.
All the windows are at least 6ft or 1.8m tall, they are big
Bravo! Well done!!
Windows look awesome. You should possibly paint the downstairs door at the patio a lovely French blue/Grey. 😊😊
Repainting those doors is on the list of jobs to do. I also want to stop the draughts around them too, the salon is just above them

Oh yes everything will eventually find a home, most of the top floor is yet to be completed so there will be room for things there.

There is a thick piece of timber across the top of the opening as a lintel. The plasterboard is screwed to that

yes the house is tall. The stairs are not as steep as they look, but having lived in bungalows all my life until now, all stairs seem steep to me, lol
Will you be painting the outside of the house soon?
Great job, as always. Was there some worm holes in the window sill piece and has it been treated?

Some of my early DIY didn't go so well, but I got better over time. Start off with a small task and eventually you will get more confident.
🌟👏👍🍀💐
When you install the new window, you don't apply new fixings comparable to what was there before?

Vinyl in the bathroom when you have lovely wooden floors ????
I prefer to have a waterproof floor in a bathroom, even though the wood is varnished water can still get between the joints.
