One thing you know about orcas - there are always orcas around. Same goes for sharks. If there are like 5 big great whites at one spot, orcas will go a different route. Most likely to save their cubs
@@rainforesthk2181 maybe not for you, but they would take down a great white pronto to protect their juveniles. In fact a lot of times they strike first at any shark in the area to take out the problem before it starts. They eat smaller sharks. So if orca are present, sharks (and a lot of wildlife in general) probably aren't. Just one of the perks of being around them.
I think what Connectelectric meant was that the females' dorsal fins have a slight backwards curve at the tip,, not bent sideways like captive males' fins.
Yes, and it would also be really interesting for someone to re-edit this video and include dangerous, ominous, music, which I think would be just as appropriate as this frilly-nilly stuff they've included here.
We give to much credit to this person for this interaction. Yes, her profession and previous experience helps her better understand and interact with Orcas and other animals in the Ocean but the key factor here is the Orca. Orcas are highly intelligent and by nature are not aggressive to humans unless someone does something to change this dynamic. In the wild, everyone should be cautious around any animal.
They are VERY careful around her, for sure. She often swims with the entire pod not just the juveniles as you see here. Still as many times as she does this it still must be a benevolent feeling for her to experience.
Yes I was thinking of the same way. What if the orca some people encounter in the wild has some grudges with humans who tried to hurt them in the past. Orcas are smart and self aware and even remembers. So it could also be dangerous if it is capable of feeling anger and thinking of revenge.
You all say it was just playing and no reports of an attack have ever occured, but you'll notice that the expert in orcas got back in the kayak, almost frantically, the minute she saw it opening it's mouth near her.
what has free will to do with being a moron? Its not like someone chooses to be one .. besides,: it's not a HE is actually a woman, and therefor HE can't be no moron
This orca is having a ball with her, no stress, no threat, just a wonderful playful time! She can pet it, And it wouldn't care. When she gets into the kayak, it is actually pushing her along, this is so cool, and how it is supposed to be. That animal is also her protector
The orca doesn't want her feet , if you watch Orca attack other mammals , he or she won't behave like that. The orca is very smart,if she is a target, she will be quickly being taken. The other orcas from his pod is swimming upside down in relax mode. I really amazed by their reaction to most human in the wild.
Orcas are Amazing! They have the brain power to come up with extremely complex strategies and they have the body, strength, savagery, and agility to pull them off, for god's sake they hunt and eat sharks bigger than they are but when it comes to Humans they are so gentle and kind.
No.. sharks are NOT bigger than they are. They outweigh the largest sharks (except whale and basking) by at least double. They're also a LOT stronger and can swim twice as fast AND they have by far the strongest bite force of any animal on the planet.
ik they've never attacked anyone in the wild but I'd still be scared shitless. lol that's a huge meat eating animal in its natural habitat where we can't defend ourselves. that person was brave lol
Cimino Denton there's been one or two occasions. I think if they're really starving they will do it. The one with story I've been able to find is of a whaling boat where a group of orcas just had a buffet with most of the crew. They ate 16 of them.
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! How I wish I could have such an encounter or even with dolphins. My two favs... Orcas and Dolphins. BEAUTIFUL
I think it's because when we're swimming the feet make a lot of sequential noises, drawing their attention. It could be their hunt instincts too, they know that we're vulnerable from behind but somehow they don't see us as their preys and just play around.
This is the most amazing interaction I've ever seen. It just goes to show how intelligent they are. Yes humans put man on the moon and we have our smart phones but our first instinct is always to kill, capture and torment. How unintelligent and cruel we are. Orcas never harm humans in the wild. At the very least they're compassionate.
Just watch what they do to Seals when they catch them, they take their time and have fun killing them slowly. They drown whales as well. They're brutal animals simultaneously capable of compassion, just like us.
@@homedogoli they don't take their time having fun killing them. They do often catch one and play with it to help younger orcas train hunting them. They'll also let these one go.
@@Beaches_south_of_L.A. I've never seen them let one go after that, usually the seal is badly injured at that point so even that is a death sentence. If a human hunter played with his prey like that you would call him a psychopath. My point was they're really not very different to us, both species are capable of brutality and compassion.
I absolutely love Orcas and think they're much more gentle than people assume...but that looked like a juvenile to me and I wouldn't like to see how it's parents would react finding you in the water with it. Great video though.
Orcas only have one predator, besides man, in th sea, and that's sharks, which attack babies.. We don't look much like sharks, but it's questionable if they recognize us as creatures that take their own. They might even see us as aliens, abudcting them!
Orcas aren't interested AT ALL in eating or attacking humans. No attack on a human by a wild Orca has ever been recorded. It does not happen. Ever. More chance of being eaten by your own dog.
@Goonerville Gonad Perhaps not eating, but why be so sure about the civility of a wild animal? I'm quite sure a wild orca has at any time in history attacked a human being, not for food, but maybe being to close to its babies, or just saw it as a threat in some manner. Its fine, They are wild and being wild, they are unpredictable. Why are you so convinced otherwise?
Because there is zero evidence to the contrary. Yes, wild animals are unpredictable to an extent, but these are incredibly intelligent animals that, to this day, have never attacked a human in the wild. There have been instances where they've taken a human for a ride down deep and back to the surface again--that's as close to an attack as we know. Why am I convinced? Well, so far the behaviour of Orcas has convinced me. Their track record is perfect. Could it happen one day? A lot of things that are extremely unlikely could happen one day. Would I ever get in a pool or the sea with an Orca? No! They're too big and powerful, and a simple accident with one of them could be fatal.
This video definitely shows a different perspective of interacting with an orca! Perhaps if more people saw this they would come to realize this mammal is so unique and so special that it needs global attention and protection to help it survive extinction! Debris and garbage strewn into the ocean is deadly to this magnificent animal!
LOOKS LIKE A JUVENILE, AND IN THE BACKGROUND WAS A "BABY"...GREAT VIDEO HERE. HE GOT TO COMMUNE W/ AN ORCA. LUCKY HUMANOID. THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. SO INTELLIGENT.
Multiply studies including real world polynesian cannibals have concluded that human meat closer resembles pork. Especially if boiled it's hard to tell the difference.
Not really. Orcas are highly intelligent and are able to understand the concept of playing. They are able to differentiate between food and organisms they can interact with socially.
jride042976 Thank you for that comment. It's so true. There are no reported human deaths from wild orcas. They are absolutely more socially intelligent than humans are. I could go on and on.
Lance Armstrong Playing is not a good indicator of extreme intelligence. Most mammals engage in some form of play, especially ones as young as the baby orca in this video. By the way, the social nature of dolphins doesn't stop orcas from eating them.
jride042976 "Better understanding of social than humans" "much much more than humans can even measure." You are talking straight out of your ass. As if orcas are these mysterious god-like beings that our puny, hominid brains are simply incapable of comprehending.

killer whale is not whale, orca belongs to dolphin family
And yet they eat dolphins when given the chance. Go figure.
This is why I love RUclips. Yes, there's plenty of clickbait to go around. But while the news will only report negative things, here we also get to see beautiful scenes like this. Amazing.
This is such a feel good video, that I watched over and over again!
That is the most incredible encounter! It's even better seeing the aerial view
Incredible footage.
Fantastic. Made me cry watching this beautiful video. This man must have been so excited. He’ll talk of this loving video with a beautiful Orca. Lucky guy
Im surprised he can swim with balls that huge!

This is exactly why orcas shouldn't be kept in captivity, look they are beautiful creatures
I agree 7.4 billion % ! They don't belong in "cages" any more than innocent people do.... Maybe 7.1 billion %. 😉
Which animal should be kept in cage?
@ Migue byte. Humans.
What beauty . Imagine swimming with a wild orca !
Better than watching these beautiful inteĺlligent beings seperated from their families turning tricks for food in a corporate nightmare Long live the orca in the enviroment they were born to.
I swam with wild Dolphins jt was totally unexpected and so beautiful. In the water you dont See the Dolphins expect the breach out of the water. So there is nothing but the ocean and you and every now and then a dolphin jumps one meter next to you Up in the Air and Starts playing 😍😍😍😍
It would be an amazing experience, but swimming with such an animal might be too overwhelming for me. These animals are so majestic, I really would enjoy such an experience.
This is one of my dreams
@@Cocoon_Memelord There are experiences to enjoy with the varied sea creatures if you have intuition and love. I once had a green horn billed sea turtle swimming companion. They feel your friendly vibes too.

VeroMithril That we know of.....
VeroMithril wrong. Some orca attacks have happened in the wild, look it up
😂😂😂
Orcas gonna orc. That's just the way it is.
So all those so called oil spills were you?
"caught on drone" like the drone was there by accident.
Lordious the drone wasn’t there by accident. I️m pretty sure they were recording the kayaker when suddenly the orca appeared
Lordious lol so true eh lol
You are right, those lowly mammals were just participants in a very complicated conspiracy!
The drone totally gives it away!
(and tidy up our room, son)
Rubi Wade lol ya that Orca was in on it the whole time. Bunch of liars. Prolly a dolphin in a orca suit
You’re taking this out of context....
Hopefully no drone films me when I encounter an orca in the ocean, because I would shit myself.
Beautiful! Would be an experience of a lifetime for me.
This is one of the most awesome videos I’ve seen in a while. I just love seeing how the whales really seem to wanna meet people. Maybe some day I’ll get to see them in there home. 🐋🌊
That's the kind of experience marine biologists dream of! That's just amazing!
One thing you know around Orcas - there are no white sharks around.
There is likely nothing but orcas around if there are orcas around...
True. They run for it. Exit stage left
One thing you know about orcas - there are always orcas around. Same goes for sharks. If there are like 5 big great whites at one spot, orcas will go a different route. Most likely to save their cubs
there is no guarantee that the Orca would protect you from the sharks
@@rainforesthk2181 maybe not for you, but they would take down a great white pronto to protect their juveniles. In fact a lot of times they strike first at any shark in the area to take out the problem before it starts. They eat smaller sharks. So if orca are present, sharks (and a lot of wildlife in general) probably aren't. Just one of the perks of being around them.
What an amazing experience. Orca are such beautiful and playful animals.
Beautiful on so many levels. Amazing!
That is a fairly young orca. It's small.
I was thinking the same thing...but then there was that 2nd one, that wasn't much bigger.
grayburst that's a female. They're not as big as male orcas.
+Kyle Englot That's not female. It's a male. The fin is pointed straight up. Females fins are curved.
I think what Connectelectric meant was that the females' dorsal fins have a slight backwards curve at the tip,, not bent sideways like captive males' fins.
grayburst small? that thing still weighed as much as a miata
That's crazy, I would love to do it, but I'm way too afraid of it. There were others around the kayak.
The most magnificent of all creation. This is why life could be beautiful sometimes.
what kind of music is that? I rather swim with that orca then listen this crap.
Yes, and it would also be really interesting for someone to re-edit this video and include dangerous, ominous, music, which I think would be just as appropriate as this frilly-nilly stuff they've included here.
Geronimo 4 some people can never be pleased, some just choose to be misarable and pick out the bad even in the good.
Do you think it's cool to hate any kind of music on any video?
Geronimo 4 😂😂😂😂
lol
What an awesome experience. I love when they swim on their backs.
You all say it was just playing and no reports of an attack have ever occured, but you'll notice that the expert in orcas got back in the kayak, almost frantically, the minute she saw it opening it's mouth near her.
Think because some whales and orcas can play rough. There have been instances when whales have played with divers and it didn't end well.
Not a moron, he's entitled to do whatever he wants!
Brilliant clip, love it!
what has free will to do with being a moron? Its not like someone chooses to be one .. besides,: it's not a HE is actually a woman, and therefor HE can't be no moron
This orca is having a ball with her, no stress, no threat, just a wonderful playful time! She can pet it, And it wouldn't care. When she gets into the kayak, it is actually pushing her along, this is so cool, and how it is supposed to be. That animal is also her protector
Yep, sure is. Dr Visser has nothing to fear with these guys around!
How wholesome is this?!🥺❤️
Beautiful.....
Absolutely Beautiful....
the water looked a lil rough for swimmers tho.. It seems calm but it was moving
I am amazed at that number of people on hear. That do not seem to understand that the orca is just playing with the food on its plate.
bill NELSON nope not true otherwise she/he would have been dead before she/he could get to safety.
Between the terrific music and the really awesome close up camera work.....
ik they've never attacked anyone in the wild but I'd still be scared shitless. lol that's a huge meat eating animal in its natural habitat where we can't defend ourselves. that person was brave lol
these individuals know each otber
Cimino Denton there's been one or two occasions. I think if they're really starving they will do it. The one with story I've been able to find is of a whaling boat where a group of orcas just had a buffet with most of the crew. They ate 16 of them.
SharkAcademy omg..... are you serious!? where was this?

I find it weird how they're fascinated with our feet.
They always seem to stick their mouth on people's feet. Hopefully they don't end up biting one off.
I think it's because when we're swimming the feet make a lot of sequential noises, drawing their attention. It could be their hunt instincts too, they know that we're vulnerable from behind but somehow they don't see us as their preys and just play around.
probably curious as to how we're moving on water with pair of twigs.

OneLorde Um.... There have been attacks in captive. Deaths too. I ain't spreading nonsense. I ain't spreading anything at all
OneLorde Also. What I said is based on an article I read.
Absolutely incredible! The orca is so beautiful and gentle but there's still no way I'd get in the sea with it like that! Crazy
@@homedogoli whether you've seen it or not is irrelevant.
They also do not harm like kind. Something we have yet to learn.

I absolutely love Orcas and think they're much more gentle than people assume...but that looked like a juvenile to me and I wouldn't like to see how it's parents would react finding you in the water with it. Great video though.
0saintclark0 you can see mid video he has an even younger orca friend near him.
No! They're too big and powerful, and a simple accident with one of them could be fatal.
at first i didn't realize the orca was that small and i was just waiting those big ass black shadows to rise above the surface 😂😂
This video definitely shows a different perspective of interacting with an orca! Perhaps if more people saw this they would come to realize this mammal is so unique and so special that it needs global attention and protection to help it survive extinction! Debris and garbage strewn into the ocean is deadly to this magnificent animal!
How sweet is that.. Orcas are such gentle giants, I just love them.
I am just here for the music! WOW.
Finally someone brave enough to jump and fully enjoy this incredible encounter ! 😤
I don't think getting out of the kayak was the best idea, he's lucky the orca seemed playful and curious.
u sad terrified excuse for a human
Jan mac The Orca must have just had something to eat earlier.
surfinmuso why do u keep saying that?
Jan mac, Orca's don't attack humans, so no one has to worry about that.
Sacho Paso it's literally never happened so yes you can
This made me smile. It proves that nature and humans are all joint.
LOOKS LIKE A JUVENILE, AND IN THE BACKGROUND WAS A "BABY"...GREAT VIDEO HERE. HE GOT TO COMMUNE W/ AN ORCA. LUCKY HUMANOID. THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. SO INTELLIGENT.
What an experience for the kayaker!
I think the orca was trying to figure out if the kayaker tasted like chicken or not.
By playing swimming with him gently?
Jo Murphy Yes. Precisely.
CloudStreets How would an orca know what chicken tastes like? Penguin or albatross maybe, but chickens aren't birds that frequent the ocean.
Human of the sea taste alot like chicken of the sea
Multiply studies including real world polynesian cannibals have concluded that human meat closer resembles pork. Especially if boiled it's hard to tell the difference.
What an amazing experience
Sublime experience, I respect this majestic creature as the apex predators who's seemingly respect our species at utmost when they meet us.
"playful"--haha! More like "Can I EATS THIS???"
Lance Armstrong
Playing is not a good indicator of extreme intelligence. Most mammals engage in some form of play, especially ones as young as the baby orca in this video.
By the way, the social nature of dolphins doesn't stop orcas from eating them.
jride042976
"Better understanding of social than humans" "much much more than humans can even measure."
You are talking straight out of your ass. As if orcas are these mysterious god-like beings that our puny, hominid brains are simply incapable of comprehending.
Lorelei Perez
True, orcas are amazing, highly social animals, and, yes, there are no recorded human deaths by orcas, but what is all this blathering about them being more socially intelligent than humans coming from?
