This is one of those games I feel nostalgic for despite never playing it myself. I‘ve watched a Let‘sPlay once when I was way younger, but this kind of story stays with you forever, even if you only experienced it second-hand.

The characters are speaking Middle English; Shakespeare, Marlowe etc. RT’s course was in Old English (Beowulf etc.), a language closer to German than modern English. No wonder it was so hard. Old English is evil.
When you meet "Merlee" in the castle and she asks you some questions about what enemies you fear, it reminds me of the original Paper Mario. You are given answers to choose from. A weak opponent, a stronger opponent(honest answer), or an item. It's so silly.

Really enjoyed watching RT play this. ONLY because RT was playing it, and made it actually funny. The game itself is abysmal dreck.
