You should play Bug Fables the Everlasting Sapling when you get a chance. I think you’d love it and it’s one HELL of an indie game that’s like a combo of Paper Mario and Hollow Knight.

Actually I saw people saying it, but it could’ve easily been interpreted as a joke. In hindsight, I should’ve known. One of the reasons why I thought it wasn’t rigged was because in my own playthrough I kept dying afterwards. It seemed embarrassing to keep dying when the game gives you a bingo. Also, I was more successful at getting bingos throughout the game, so I just assumed I nailed it down each and every time 😂
So THAT'S why I almost died in the fight. I had a mega rush yoshi and was doing well until I attempted to fail the bingo. I guess I know now to bring more than one trial stew next time.
Man, the writing in this game is just HEAVENLY for a Nintendo game. There’s thinly-veiled violence that just can’t bring itself to say “kill”, fourth wall breaks, the whole feet-sniffing thing, the dialogue between Vivian and her sisters is actually incredibly brutal, and stuff like when the ravens talk to each other is just hilarious. Not to mention the “shaking what my momma gave me” line

Actually, I'm slightly disappointed by one thing: The remake cut out an extra line of dialogue where Hooktail -admitted- claimed that people paid her money for this exact "privilege."

This game reminds me of the time when I was a kid, I saw an ad on a website that said "get a free copy of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door!" and it was one of those survey sites that had more surveys nested inside with "free trials" in each one. I filled out EVERY SINGLE ONE and got to the end and entered my home address to get the game copy. It's been 20 years. I did everything they asked. I never got it.

Hey RT! I know you’re probably not gonna see this but I just wanted to say how glad I was to see that this had come out while I was on my lunch break. I woke up this morning feeling pretty awful physically but I didn’t have a fever so I went to work anyways. By the time I got to go to lunch I was physically and mentally drained from all the running around my job requires. I smiled seeing this video in my sub feed as I love this game and had been unable to watch you play live, so I turned it on and listened to it while I ate and worked. It genuinely got me through a pretty rough day so I just wanted to say thank you and how much I appreciate your channel as a whole!

I'm honestly really impressed by Dan's ability to hit those superjumps so consistently, with the 4th jump always being a frame-perfect input. For someone with absolutely no rhythm, he's pretty good at timing them.
RT's playthroughs are always either super wholesome or an absolute riot, and you can usually tell from the first twenty seconds or so which one it'll be.
"I can't read shit, Mario! Look at her handwriting! It's so high-def this time around that you _really_ can tell how unreadable it is!" Funny enough, the writing on signs and other stuff, someone _actually_ figured out what most of it says (like the Dolphic language from Mario Sunshine). Peach's letter? No [RUclips.]ing clue.
RT not doing a stylish until chapter 2, after skipping the stylish tutorial and making fun of all the tutorials in the prologue, is pretty funny to me.
That hit close to home. I've been familiar with this game since it came out, and have been playing it for at least a decade, and didn't realize "Stylish" existed until my playthrough from about two years ago.
I didn’t do a stylish until chapter 3 or 4, I think. The only reason I did the tutorial was to figure out how to do stylishes and superguards but the tutorial never fully explains what stylish moves are.
I find it really interesting how the names of the characters vary between languages, even though It usually doesn't really matter. For example, Mario's wrestling name in German is "Bomba Luigi"

@@dallor09 Based on a cursory Google search, it seems Miyamoto wasn't the sole director of Ocarina of Time. It apparently had five simultaneous directors under Nintendo EAD, and Eiji Aonuma, the current director, was already among them even back then. Shigeru is only credited as producer, so it's likely he didn't have much direct influence on Ocarina of Time. Similar deal with Link to the Past before it, which was only produced, not directed, by Miyamoto.
I’m not saying that RT’s opinion is wrong, but I have never seen anyone dislike the glitz pit and most of them have said it is their first or second favourite chapter
Easily my most hated chapter. So little exploration, so little story. You spend most of your time stuck in the same ~3 rooms doing fight after fight after fight, with only short breaks of anything interesting in between every few fights. You could easily half the number of arena fights and lose nothing for it, it is just a pointless slog.

oh, that's really cool! the puni are woolly aphids, which have little bobbing head things just like that! they symbios with beech trees, and their little dancing is very cute.
By the way, during a power bounce, the jump timing gets slowly increasingly more difficult, except that the fourth jump randomly goes down to a ONE FRAME WINDOW before returning to the normal timing progression. So it was cool to see you actually get several of them! Skilled gamer right here guys
To answer the poster dilemma, think of it as Life-sized cut-outs, but instead it's a Life-sized Print-out. Worst case scenario is that it's like the Harry Potter News papers, except worse depending on how they do the printing. Posters could be prisons for clones, or come to life if the original dies like how 1-ups make a new Mario instead of being back the original. Creates some implications, most not good.
I'd been seeing a lot about Vivian being trans but due to the location I was seeing it I thought is somewhat likely that it wasn't really there in the game, but nope it is in fact just there good on Nintendo for that

Its interesting that almost everything in a hat in time is inspired by this game The train murder mystery even uses the same phone sound, Crump uses the Mafia Ball, super and ultra charge like super and ultra hammer, the curse boxes inspired snatcher of course, dead bird studios is the same as the Glitz pit, the ending where all the guys sacrifice themselves is the same as talking through the stars, just directed differently, subcon is like twilight town, so many details i forgot Oh the express crows and the political crows

@Door227Nintendo games in general are very vore heavy. Kirby, Inside story, Zelda, Metroid, Banjo Kazooie before rare was bought out, Yoshi, Pikmin, ect. Lots of it.

Yeah I know, right? I think in the original English translation of this game, the line was changed. This kinda enraged a lot of trans folks like myself for a long time because while it was probably not intentional to portray her as trans, that line definitely reads like it. So when this came out and they fixed the translation, it was a really nice nod like "hey, we see you."
I've been playing Paper Mario TTYD's 1-hour challenge randomizer for a little while now and seeing Crump's Chapter 7 boss room at 2:15:15 made me physically recoil in fear. Having to attempt this guy at low-level is not what I would call a fair fight.
Okay I'm not very far in, but the eyebrows joke is actually good in Japanese. Mayuge (mah-you-gay) is how you say eyebrows in Japanese so he just got Mario wrong twice in one sentence by also calling him Murphy 😅

This game reminds me of the time when I was a kid, I saw an ad on a website that said "get a free copy of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door!" and it was one of those survey sites that had more surveys nested inside with "free trials" in each one. I filled out EVERY SINGLE ONE and got to the end and entered my home address to get the game copy. It's been 20 years. I did everything they asked. I never got it.

I'm honestly really impressed by Dan's ability to hit those superjumps so consistently, with the 4th jump always being a frame-perfect input. For someone with absolutely no rhythm, he's pretty good at timing them.
RT's playthroughs are always either super wholesome or an absolute riot, and you can usually tell from the first twenty seconds or so which one it'll be.

That hit close to home. I've been familiar with this game since it came out, and have been playing it for at least a decade, and didn't realize "Stylish" existed until my playthrough from about two years ago.
I didn’t do a stylish until chapter 3 or 4, I think. The only reason I did the tutorial was to figure out how to do stylishes and superguards but the tutorial never fully explains what stylish moves are.
What does that even do? I have yet to see anyone do the tutorial or even explain anything. People just keep doing backflips. _Why?_
I find it really interesting how the names of the characters vary between languages, even though It usually doesn't really matter. For example, Mario's wrestling name in German is "Bomba Luigi"

It apparently had five simultaneous directors under Nintendo EAD, and Eiji Aonuma, the current director, was already among them even back then. Shigeru is only credited as producer, so it's likely he didn't have much direct influence on Ocarina of Time. Similar deal with Link to the Past before it, which was only produced, not directed, by Miyamoto.

I always assumed it was because of Yoshi. That’s the only reason I liked the chapter. I didn’t like the slog through the battles.
Easily my most hated chapter. So little exploration, so little story. You spend most of your time stuck in the same ~3 rooms doing fight after fight after fight, with only short breaks of anything interesting in between every few fights. You could easily half the number of arena fights and lose nothing for it, it is just a pointless slog.

This kinda enraged a lot of trans folks like myself for a long time because while it was probably not intentional to portray her as trans, that line definitely reads like it.
