They will easily break if you are fighting a stronger opponent and you can't defeat him like how tanjiros sword broke when he was Fighting the lower demon rui
With Nero, that's sort of the point. She's not supposed to be a saber class servant, her proper class is Rider. But she hated chariots and refused the Rider class. Through her Imperial Privilege ability, she became Saber, because Saber servants are viewed as the strongest, and therefore, how could she not be a Saber. So her sword is strange because it isn't a real weapon, just something created for her to wield since she is a Saber.
Marcus: "i wonder why the katanas never break in demon slayer?" Everyone else: *bruh* Jokes aside, i do see swords break in anime extremely often, a little too often.
Wonderfully put. In Demon Slayer, the swords almost seem to have a “Zelda Breath of the Wild” usage aspect to them. At least when the characters get to talking about their weapons. So I say again, a well put comment, my friend.
Commenting to mention, in demon slayer, their swords definitely do break, they had a whole episode where they waited to get new swords because a few broke.
Small note about Nero's sword, the only reason she has it is cuz she didnt want to be a rider class so she got this instead, it summons an imperium which allows her to use the sword to make a flashy explosion thing, makes absolutely no sense
Love the content.I think demon slayer has some of the most ‘realism’ when it comes to anime swords. Except for the swords changing colour they break and wear. They also don’t have powers like many other swords (the effects are a stylistic choice vs a power up ).
The first one aka the trench knife has been around since a little while before ww1 the united states started making it one of their official combat knifes in ww2 to give soldiers as many forms of defense in a knife that they could (their were 2 or 3 different kinds, one was regular brass knuckles with a combat knife blade and a *knockout end on the bottom that could break skulls* , the 2nd variation had a pointed brass knuckle part instead of plain brass knuckles, the 3rd variation offered no ways to not kill or mame someone as it had pointed knuckles a pointed bottom end to pierce skulls (it was like 1-1/2 inches) and a regular combat knife blade (this is the one that's super illegal now)
I just got into a fight with a friend, I don’t know if you’ve covered this topic before. The keyblades from kingdom hearts would be absolutely awful to swing around because of their hilts. Right? Am I crazy?
Depends on the particular Keyblade imo but there seems to be more than enough room for your hands on most considering Sora primary uses two hands when attacking.
Not the first to bring this up, but it's actually hilarious that he brought up anime swords never breaking while talking about the only show that addresses swords constantly breaking.
Fun fact about Demon Slayer swords. They don't have supernatural powers (outside of their ability to kill demons). The water effects are just an artistic choice because each character uses a different technique and swordstyle.
Can you possibly review KHR's swords? One being Squalo's hand sword ( which can eject small explosives stored on the blade ) Another being Yamamoto's shigure kintoki ( one being the normal version and later on he can use four swords at the same time ) One more is Genkishi's four/six/eight swords.
Which version of the sword of power are you referring to? They go from relatively realistic if heavy to “I’m pretty sure that shouldn’t even work in any universe”.
Could you take a look a swords in genshin impact? Its an Chinese anime-esc open world gacha game and has some similarities to botw and jrpgs. Most of the swords and claymores look like they would actually work fairly well irl but they still look very anime.
Under certain legal standards trench knives are illegal depending on if it does have the traditional knuckle duster grip, if it has a solid metal such as a bar say .5 to 2 inch wide is actually legal or has the basket hilt style it also is legal. Also side note you can own a triangular blade as long as it isn't used in warfare.
I have a quick question. Did gunblades exist in real life? Could be based off of final fantasy 8 or the ones used in assassins creed: black flag. And if no, would they be practical?
Laws regarding knives and blunt weapons have started to loosen up a lot depending on where you live. A friend of mine is a collector and he owns everything from switch blades and butterfly knives to spiked knuckles. in the state I live they recently decriminalized almost every single type of knife. The only blades still illegal are throwing stars, and for some reason ballistic knives. The laws vary massively from state to state though so if you’re wanting to get something might be iffy definitely do your research first.
Nichirin Ore Is pretty durable apparently but Also they do break very often except for Tanjiros Final sword which is like a legendary sword of something
Actually demon slayer swords break, almost as accurately as a real katana would, as he goes for a more angled jab, and the entire blade just shatters like glass.
Hey I’ve been wondering what are those three sets of pictures you have in the background I want to buy them if you have like the place that you got them or some like that
My only counterpoint here is that Nero's sword is never meant to be practical. She's super artsy and basically a Saber because she wants to, not because she actually knows how swords word.
tanjiros sword is black because nichirin blades are known for changing color depending on the weilder to give insight to said user's fate. and, he doesn't actually have water powers, it's basically just an animation effect to make the fights look cooler. also, i always found it weird how protagonist weapons rarely ever break, tanjiros sword is one of the first ive seen that breaks in the show.
Aestus Estus isn't a really good sword for a reason: Nero shouldn't be a Saber. She's more powerful as a Caster, but she won't settle for anything less than the best, so she forced her Saint Graph to make her a Saber even though she had little experience with a sword & it shows with how she actually handles it.
Funnily enough, that's probably intentional. She's qualified to be a Rider, a Caster, & a Saber (& a Beast but that's a whole different thing). Her ordinary class should be a 50/50 between Rider & Caster but she's too vain to settle for less than Saber, the "Ultimate Class" despite not historically wielding a sword, lending to its unwieldy design & her odd swordsmanship.
Tanjiros sword broke twice, once from rui, and the other was from Akaza. Also it isn’t water powers as canonically the water isn’t actually there. Still great video though!
The sword doesn’t actually have water powers that’s just an animation thing to show the breathing style and force of the blows and all that, accentuating the combat. To characters in the show it just looks like swinging a sword
2 rhings about demon slayer,1 the elemental effects from the humans are just for show and aren't actually there, 2 the swords can break, snap and get chipped, the ore there made from is basically just Very durable.
In demon slayer the swords do actually break sometimes. The ore they're made out of is supposed to be extremely durable
No there are not durable so sword can easily break but it because of the breathing ability taking direct hit instead of the sword itself
They will easily break if you are fighting a stronger opponent and you can't defeat him like how tanjiros sword broke when he was Fighting the lower demon rui
@@sanjaypunalur3411 it was the way he used it, that’s why it broke
@@male1021 the breathing is more to increase the physical abilities of the user not the sword
@@sanjaypunalur3411 No, they break mainly because of how they slash, they need to be perfect
"Why anime swords never break?"
Haganezuka: literally points a knife at Tanjiro for breaking his sword

Was just about to say this
Look a the note he left at the bottom. He pretty much says what you do. When he says "these" I think he means anime swords in general.
Hmm didn’t see that on there when I watched this… it’s always possible that I missed it, or the short was updated?
Wasn't it said the swords broke because they didn't use them properly? Giyuu didn't have this problem
@@Jordaxio yeah, if they cut at the wrong angle against hard material, it could break the blade.
Thank you SO much for doing Rin's sword from blue exorcist
Would love to see him review some the weapons in Vinland Saga... which is basically just asking him to review Norse weapons
0:27 this is very funny because Tanjirou's probably the only mc that I've seen break his katanas couple of times XD

Yeah what this guy said
You should talk about Kanshou and Byakuya from fate, their really simple swords but also really cool

"The swords never break"
You know exactly what you were doing.
Could way talk about the spiker from halo? I love the franchise, and want to see more on it's weapons
He asks why the swords in anime never break. But he says it during a clip of Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, whose sword you actually see him break.
Do Kokorowatari and Yumewatari from MONOGATARI SERIES.....
And Sokka's Space Sword

The guards are what messes me up… like how do you hold a weapon that has a guard on BOTH SIDES
As a guy who built one
A keyblade is surprisingly wieldy when the guard is of a flat design
Could you do the swords from genshin impact? I know it’s not an anime, but it’d be really cool!
Kinda wanna see some from a few gundam series, mainly Gundam 00 (exia, 00 raiser, quanta) and any weapons from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans
He really said “these swords never break” like that’s not his third one in 8 months in the show
Can you do genshin impact swords? It would be awesome!!

Another great video, thank you for it. Your content just got ya another sub, my own. Keep on with the awesomeness!

Could you do TF2 Melee weapons arsenal? would be hilarious
Can you do one of these on rwby weapons? Most of the weapons have a secondary ranger state and it seems really interesting

Actually, the powers from kny are just visual effects, they don't actually exist in the kny universe, it is just to make the fights more dynamic.

In demon slayer the swords are just swords but stronger there is no magic they just use sword techniques to look like the element
If ur counting the water powers from Tanjiros sword you should count that drawing Kurikara will literally bring out a flaming spawn of Satan-
In demon slayer the water shown is just for visual effect, and swords break a lot in that series.
