When I was around seven years old and in the height of my 'weird little girl' phase, my dad got this game for me. I was too young to really understand how to work the whole city building mechanic (and only wanted to watch the little people walk around) so he did most of the actual gameplay for me, but he still let me sit in his office chair as the 'pharaoh' and pick all of the temples and decorations and monuments we built. I'm all grown up now but I still listen to this soundtrack whenever I need to cram for an exam lmao. Love you Dad, you're the best pharaoh's advisor a girl could ask for
Your prestige is rising
Love that Dom of the 'History Of Egypt' podcast uses "Welcome" as his show theme.

Hey OP, you might want to copy the song list to the video description instead of giving him a heart, just saying.
@@akigreus9424 There's also a pin.
@@pentelegomenon1175 Ahh, did not notice that tho it was evident, still might want to put into song desc as it is a little unintuitive.
This game was my childhood and this soundtrack is still one of the best out there.
one of the best historic games ever.
Geez this game, such a good game back then when I was a kid, good Memories(of Thebes) :)
This was a honestly beautiful game... I wish they added a few more features like knowing the age of your citizens and actual control of your military units and more stuff to do. More Monuments to build like Abu Simbel, giant temples and Valley of the Kings stuff. Also, I wish they added a few more gods and goddesses like Wadjet, Sekhment, Serqet and such.
I like how "Welcome!" is the most stereotypically Ancient Egyptian music piece ever.
@@PillowWillow007 You're mistaken.
@@TheRojo387 Would you kindly elaborate?
Music is very Pharaoh (Sierra) like.
Amazing
Wonderful, haunting music.
I loved this game and its soundtrack. Wish someone would refurbish it with a new instalment.
OMG, thank you so much! :)
now I have a lot of nice egyptian themed music to listen to haha
thanks ,I realy Like this Music
i realy Wana Travel by time and bee one of pharoahs ! such a great civilisation
Same!
Then Moses and Aaron show up.
Moses and Aaron who have no actual archaeological evidence supporting their existence :D ?
@@ninooney100 maybe but they represent realities, events and social movement that actually appeared in a way or another.
I love playing Tomb Kings.
thanks!
Nice
Why did this game genre stop evolving?
My guess it's because after a while it becomes just a long wait... a boring one too.
It's an extremely old genre, one of the oldest, that could be a reason.
What are you talking about? It never stopped. Check out Banished. :)
@@jozseflaszlo7445 Banished is pretty average though.
@@LCSintrax Yes. I agree. these all have an end at some point. Dawn of Man I played recently was pretty satisfying.
36:45 gave me the Civil War vibes from Pharaoh when you had to face Khety in battle for the Inyortefs.
zetas shantbala's childs 🌙🏝🌅
The indian instrument does not fit the theme at all!
like how?
most instruments you hear in the soundtrack are legit instruments which ancient egyptians also used, the lyre, the harp, drums, flute to name a few
@@BrecMadak He thinks there's a sitar in the tracks.
