    Thanks, I work in aviation maintenance and I need to take really close up pictures of part. I was worried these 30/40 megapixel cameras didn't take pictures actually better than 1080P but you confirmed that wasn't the case thanks !
    There is a 51MP microscope on aliexpress I think I'm going to buy that one. Too bad that it's bright pink though !

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  3 года назад

      Bright Pink. Eww lol. Be careful, some of them just use recycled dashcams and are not the MP they claim to be. But it might be. Who knows. 51MP would be used in a professional photographer camera, so possibly a Sony sensor. Sounds expensive!

    • @conrad3k
      @conrad3k 3 года назад

      First of all I doubt it's really 51MP. Probably just 12MP or 16MP with upscaling when saving bigger JPEG's. Don't get fooled by the high megapixels. If they don't list the actual CMOS sensor, it's probably not what they say.

    • @ThinkingNow
      @ThinkingNow 3 года назад

      @@conrad3k Some of the listings claiming 51MP also say it has a 1/2.33" sensor, which is about 6.08 x 4.56 mm, and a pixel size of 1.335μm. So I think you're right, just about 16MP.

    Does this have thread so you can screw it to a camera mount/boom?

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  2 года назад +1

      Sorry for the late response. No, it does not have a 1/4 mounting connector but you could do what I did and make one out of wood. Just unscrew the neck of the camera holder on the stand and screw that into a tiny piece of wood that has a female 1/4 threaded nut. Get creative!
      Or you could look for a 1/4 clamp mount.

    Can you go from 1080i to SVGA or DVI with an adapter cable. I have adapter cables but... who the hell knows until someone actually tests it with device in question.

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  4 года назад +1

      I have an HDMI to DVI adapter. I'll check for you later. It should work just fine. But won't give you 1080p. Still will be 1080i or less

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  4 года назад

      Sorry for the late response but I just tested a small black adapter that goes from HDMI to DVI and it works well. So from microscope HDMI mini to HDMI then from HDMI to DVI into the monitor.
      Works just the same as HDMI directly into the screen. I hope that info helps. It's still 1080i.

      @@DestructiveBurn Sweet, I have those cables and just used one myself just now to connect a TV box. I may just get the 41MP version at like $115 from Banggood, with a $70 Eakins heavy duty stand, and a .30 lens to zoom out more. $200 bucks though is a lot to spend on something I won't use very often, so I'm still mulling it over...

    what is the distance between the pcb and the lens? if using steam soldering is it still comfortable to use?

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  3 года назад

      Hello, virga wijaya.
      First of all, "steam soldering"... never knew that existed. Hmm. Interesting.
      I was going to make a video on soldering SMD components with a hot air gun but I found that the gun got in the way of the lens. So I actually got a machine shop to build me an aluminum rod to extend the scope out further away from the base.
      Good thing is, you can flip the scope to the backside of the base and put some weights on the base to keep it from toppling over. This will give you an unlimited distance if you have it raised a bit higher from your workbench surface.
      I have also found out the freezing issue is caused by the base. Not sure why, but plugging the scope into the base causes it to freeze randomly. Having a second USB cord eliminates that problem.
      I should make an update video on some of the things I did, and talk about working distance. I'll also be making another video in about a month or so when my 300x lens comes in. Hopefully, it will work on this scope. If you have any other questions that you might want to see in that video with the extended rod, please let me know and I'll answer them. Seems I'm the only one with most of the data on this thing. So ask away! :)
      So this is the data you wanted to know. Hope it helps.
      From 120x lens tip to base distance.

      Max Zoom in (focused with SMD protoboard)
      55cm - Working view 5mm

      I've tried to contact them about the issue and they just ignore me. The only time they will reply, is if you ordered something or about to buy something. If people can help Email bomb them with this problem, and the other issues I mentioned, like the 1080i HDMI out signal, maybe they will finally send out a firmware upgrade!
      You can email them here:
      info@hayear.com
      Their full contact info is here:

      IF they had firmware for it, it would be here:

    I bought this HY-1080 on Banggood month ago, but they suddenly didn't have it in stock anymore. Can't even find the microscope on Hayear homepage. There is very little info on net.
    Still waiting but starting to get slightly doubtful if this product even really exists. 🤔

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  3 года назад +1

      Wow, It's like they are trying to delete all traces of this microscope. Kinda sad, I love mine. But I did find a Banggood link that says "Buy Now".
      www.banggood.com/HAYEAR-HY-1080-34MP-4K-Soldering-Microscopes-Camera-Industrial-Maintenance-Digital-Display-Electronic-Microscope-Magnifier-150X-C-mount-Lens-p-1558907.html?cur_warehouse=CN
      Yeah, kinda sad that there is barely any info about it other than from me & on my website: destructiveburn.com/hayear-hy-1080/ than anywhere else. It really is a good scope. Sure it has some drawbacks but still worth it.
      The product exists. I'm looking at it. I was actually going to be making another video of it in a month or so because I built an extension bar to move the scope higher up and real soon it will be used for SMD test solder boards in a video.
      It might be hard to get right now because of the Silicon Chip Shortage that's hurting everything. Not to mention, this microscope was released when COVID started. Maybe poor sales as well due to my review. I point out every little detail and it does kinda look bad in the review but I personally love this microscope. It really was worth the money.
      Keep trying and you'll get it eventually. Would be nice to see another good review on it, besides my videos of it. :)

      @@DestructiveBurn Oh! Just yesterday when I contacted sales regarding my order the status of the item was still "notify when available". Maybe it will be restocked after all!
      TBH your video was the one that made me pick the microscope even it was the only review I could find.
      The thing is that HY-1080 is cheaper than HY-1070 on Banggood so it kind of started sounding the alarms in my head. Who would order 16MP microscope if you can get same one with 34MP sensor for cheaper... 😅
      Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Getting hopeful again.

    • @DestructiveBurn
      @DestructiveBurn  3 года назад

      Yeah, seems people are buying them but never reviewing it. Banggood is usually good at restocking over a short period of time. I've had that issue once before on a different device. I think it was an LCR meter.
      I never used the HY-1070 but yeah what's the point if the 34MP Sony Sensor is cheaper. Really don't make a difference though unless you want that extra detail in photo zooming, like the example I shown in the video.
      Sad my video is the only detailed one on RUclips. But I'm here to answer questions since I own it. I have found out that most of the freezing is due to the PCB in the microscope stand base. If the microscope is getting power from that, it will most likely freeze more. It's best to plug the scope into its own USB port and then it rarely ever freezes.
      Hit me up if you ever review it. Just make a new comment on this video. Don't reply so I can see it pop up in the studio comments. :)
      I would like to watch it!

      @@DestructiveBurn before this I had one magnifier glass pending for 3 months. Annoyingly the estimated shipping day moved forward one day per every day. Got refund when requested but no explanation what was the issue, just those copy paste answers. I wish the system was more transparent but I guess this is how it goes.

    • @DestructiveBurn

      You would think after you purchase something they would have it in stock. Like why take someone's money if it's actually not in stock. I guess they don't keep track of their inventory before disabling the buy button. Then your left wondering why it's still pending and hasn't been sent out before getting the message it's no longer available.
