I think i would’ve appreciated 540 if people didn’t set the expectation so high and i feel a lot of people have it just because it’s popular and not because they actually love it
I got a whiff of Angel on a friend not long ago… it smelled so good and I began wearing it again. I got a lot of chocolate out of it because it had macerated for so long.
You know, I'm 60, so once you get past menopause your scent profile changes. I consider myself Gen X so that being said, my list would shock you. 1. Delin 2. Alien 3. Cherry Punk 4.Velvet Tonka 5. Rouge Smoking 6. Fenty 7. Chanel 5 In the 90's Angel came out and I still love it. Opium in the 70's was one of the first mass market push.
The old formulation of Alien was my signature fragrance for 15 years. I never bought another fragrance until they changed the formula. Now, ive been on a niche perfume binge for the past few years and STILL nothing gives me the same feeling the old Alien did! ❤ I do quite enjoy all of my fragrances but there was also something special about having that one signature.

It just enveloped you and lasted for days and days. The eau de Parfum had the intensity and longevity of an elixir imo. Then I tried the absolue and it knocked my socks off! Continue to cherish your bottle for as long as you can 🌹💕

Sharida you did it. I blind bought Guidance, smelled it and was like “what have I done”, felt it smelled kinda sweaty. But then wore it with The Wedding in Dominican and now I’m utterly hooked and this bottle is about to get drained. Idk how you found out ab that combo but you DID that, it’s genius. Much love ❤ Edit: Erba Pura I bought at a store after spraying it on my arm and loving it but for some reason the deep drydown of it smells like musty gasoline on me and it’s so nuclear I can’t get it off of me. I was so disgusted by the deep drydown I put it in a closet so I didn’t have to look at it and then rehomed it LOL. So I totally get why some love it and it repulses some depending on chemistry 😂. My fav perfume is Loubirouge and that thing smells so bad on some of my friends when they try it, it’s wild!

Thank God I only used the sample because the full size went back. I decided to give it a shot on skin again 3 weeks ago and I love it! Fenty has great notes, they just don't come together well. I've tested it in all seasons and let a sample sit for a few months, then tried it. I don't see the hype that it gets.
Listen... guidance is my best fragrance purchase this year so far. I have purchased quite a bit of fragrances this year. She does magic on my skin..countless compliments. O and forgot to mention she was a blind buy for me and i am going to get another. More for me😁 for those that dont like her. Thank you Sharida you put me on.

I totally get the hate for Guidance because I was there for more than 6 months….tested and tested and could not get it. Once I wore it (lightly) at work to test my coworkers’ reaction, so many loved it. It took a long time but NOW I get it, now I LOVE it and bought a full bottle before I was even done with my decant. Wow you are a lot more patient than most! I do find that when I can’t quite make-up my mind about a scent giving it a full wear out to work and spending a day with it really does bring me around to a fragrance. This happened to me recently with Ylang Nosy Be. I love it now lol

Chanel No 5 smells wonderful in the bottle but once it hit my skin, old lady alllll day!!! It was a gift so I took it to work, placed it in my work bathroom, and left a note that it was free to take!!!
Angel is potent and smells good on most people. With Angel you have to spray it in the air and run into or else it's too heavy-duty. Angel Innocence is bomb less potent
I blind bought Bianchi’s, Angel dust, and it worked out for me. It’s a lipstick scent and I think it’s one probably one of the more wearable in Bianchi’s catalog.
I feel like Alien was groundbreaking for a designer fragrances of its debute. it was still pulverizing but it kinda fit that 2008 aesthetic. now, ESPECIALLY with the reformation, It feels a bit dated simply bc of the amount of white florals. most people under 40 arent looking for strong white florals (not saying 40 is old, but they were around the age of their target demographic of the time).
When you said you were smelling like Esther wearing No. 5 I literally laughed out loud! I am 45, and wore it in my late teens and early twenties as well. I always got compliments, though - even from little kids at the preschool I worked at. I stand by my choices. 🤣🤣🤣 The worst thing I ever smelled was Calvin Klein Escape. I actually threw up. Black Orchid is second - I was closer to a sink I could scrub it off in that time, THANK GOD! Red Door was a slightly powdery, honeyed tuberose situation. It was my grandma’s signature, but also worn by my sister in law (who was about 15 years older than me), and one of my besties (my age) so it appealed to a variety of folks back in the day. I liked it, but never owned it. Haven’t tried the reformulated version, but it must be different because I can’t imagine the OG getting so much hate. Good fortune has a fennel note that pulls very herbal/medicinal for some people. It’s not the worst thing I ever smelled, but I wouldn’t want to smell it on myself all day.
I like Good Fortune! It reminds me of Alien, actually, and also like Prada Paradoxe. It really is just a generic white floral, but it’s pleasing and an easy reach. It’s got a licorice vibe at first but it fades to a nice jasmine vanilla on me.
I'm so happy you said you like Good Fortune, I'm in love with it. It gets so much hate, but I've come to realize body chemistry plays a significant role in Jasmine fragrances. I adore Alien as well. I have to get it.
My worst lately is La Vie Et Belle, and all the flankers. Just overpowering. I'm one of those people who cannot smell BR 540 or any of the dupes. I wish I knew what all the hype is about. (I just get a musty walnut kind of smell). I'm an Erba girl, and now want to try Guidance. Thanks 🌺
Not Erba Pura, she’s a fruity banger. I can see Guidance cuz I hated it the first time I smelled it, but I Love it now, on my skin it smells amazing but in paper I was like: What the hell is this 😂😂
For me it’s Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I love tobacco but that ain’t it. It’s way too overloaded on spices and fruits, like someone flicked cigarette ash into a fruit salad and left it out in the sun. But I agree overall, everyone has different opinions, just wear what you like (after testing it first!)
I used to feel the same way about NO 5 but then one day I randomly came across a tester of No 5 L’eau and it knocked my socks off. Chanel kept the classy elegance of No 5 but tweaked it just enough for the younger crowd to be able to wear it. It’s also the only citrus forward fragrance I love.
I don’t know about good fortune but all I know is I haven’t come across any perfumes I liked from Victor & Rolf. They just don’t work with my skin.I haven’t tried Fenty but I think it sounds beautiful and I am definitely going to try it out.
I haven't smelled the original and the notes are NOTHING alike but I love the Good Fortune Elixir Intense. It's addictive to me, and nothing like what I normally wear. But it's got incense, jasmine, and sandalwood in it which is probably why I love it. I love big, vintage, musky florals and woody, spicy, leathery fragrances. So it really is left field for me lol I usually smell like an Esther
Blanche bete and what about pop, my body immediately rejected, got sick of them. I really wanted to love as those have such a good reputation but unfortunately 😢
Erba Pura is a very sweet stank perfume. I ordered a Guidance decant so I'll come back with my opinion later. Fenty I hated when I first smelled it. It had to grow on me and now I like it, but not full bottle worthy. Baccarat 540 Extrait I like better than the original Chanel #5 is very mature. I have and love it, but not my favorite from the Chanel line. Very outdated in my opinion as well and i'm only 37.
I love Alien & Angel but I can't not come near my sister in-law it's a Hate for her. I tried Guidance I didn't care for it but later it smelled amazing on the dry down. Good fortune is a hate for me Triggered me to having a headache.
I don't like Good Fortune because of the fennel note! And it's in the anisic fragrance family which many people don't like so I can see why it's unpopular, but it may have more popularity in other regions of the world
I actually like Sex and the Sea but it definitely was NOT a safe blind buy for ANYONE. It is certainly an acquired taste, and even though I liked it, I wouldn't have wanted to wear it more than a couple hours. Not sure if it was the dry down or if the scent was just linear and it was too persistent. But Yeah, I like the uniqueness of it but it's the only one I've tried and it was like a 2-3ml decant anyway.
I knew when that Cockatiel was rocking that blouse it was a wrap😂🤣😂 I want to love Erba Pura because that👏🏽 blue👏🏽 bottle👏🏽…but all I get is delicious fruit soaked in isopropyl rubbing alcohol, not just on me, on errbody! 😆 Interestingly there are several niche house notes that give rubbing alcohol or gasoline to my olfactory glands 🤔 I can’t believe I’m advanced enough to adore Guidance! You did a fabulous job with this theme!

Angel has sentimental value to me because my aunt was my safe haven as a kid and that was her scent. So if I smell it in the air somewhere I get this cozy feeling… I’m not wearing it though 😂😂

Normally I’m nervous about wearing a fragrance that’s polarising because I hate negative comments about my frag but with guidance I literally don’t care because I’m totally addicted so much I’ve wore it every day and not even thought about picking up my others. I’ve purchased every formula of angel, 6 bottles in total and sold immediately, straight up body odour on me
I hated Good Fortune! I struggle with Neroli and thus smelled like neroli even though it's not a note. I can't tell you what it was but I had to scrub it. My daughter hated it too. It smells cheap and cloying.
I don't like Black orchid, but I don't hate it. Cow by Zoologist just smells like fruity shampoo on me. I own a bottle for when I just want to smell clean but different. I will be getting a sample of Guidances soon.
Erba pura is like rotten fruits . I was so glad I didn’t blind buy it . Guidance starts off smelling so good and then it changes into a big mess . I hate it so much . Rosendo Mateu smells like straight up rubber tire and vanilla . I think people who say the tire smell goes away have just gotten used to it but everyone else can still smell it .

Now I love it - I get a really chocolate-y vibe in Angel rather than soil but hey every nose has its own preferences haha EDIT: also, Guidance is life period
I actually really like Guidance too. It's so interesting and complex. It reminded me of Santal Royale by Guerlain--just a much more feminine, leather-free version of it. Take out the oud and leather and add the apricot and hazelnut and they have a strong similarity, probably the musk and sandalwood. It's sweet, it's nutty, musky, and woody. I'm here for it! Angel by Mugler-here's my tip. Get the body cream. The perfume is too heavy, especially with the patchouli, but the body cream, that's where it's at. It's lighter on the patchouli and more gourmand and Angel is so strong that the body cream will last you forever. A little goes a long way! The one thing you can say about Mugler fragrances is that you get your money's worth because most of them are beasts that project! Fenty perfume...the worst. I don't get it. It's just bad to my noes. I wouldn't dare put it on me! And I absolutely hate RED DOOR!!!
I had the original Angel and loved it. But when I wore it, a female law partner told me on the side not to wear it because the secretaries said I stunk. Same with Alien. But to me, these are original takes so I can never hate them.
Yeah the musk is quite make or break. It was quite lovely on my skin for the full wear. For some reason still have not added a full bottle. Maybe when I finish up with some of my Terenzi fragrances. I have enough musky fruit bombs for now LOL. 💞

I don't like it in the air and I definitely don't want it on my skin (got me smelling like some cheap massage parlor), that's why I cannot stand Good Fortune! However, there's a combination that to my nose is even more vile; it's incense paired with nutmeg... if you want to make me gag, all it takes is 1 spray of Delina, and then take a step back... LOL

Try "Oud Jasmine" from Royal Crown. It's stunning, leaves an amazing scent trail, people always compliment me when I wear it.

I love Chanel °5, but they changed the formula. That was my favorite go to for the fall and winter back in the early 2000's.
Try out Koala from Zoologist! Its very uplifting and I cant stand Popper Pop from Filippo Sorcinelli.
Chanel No 5 smells wonderful in the bottle but once it hit my skin, old lady alllll day!!! It was a gift so I took it to work, placed it in my work bathroom, and left a note that it was free to take!!!
Angel is potent and smells good on most people. With Angel you have to spray it in the air and run into or else it's too heavy-duty. Angel Innocence is bomb less potent
Alien is beautiful to me, just don't spray a lot. Two or three sprays last all day.
I blind bought Bianchi’s, Angel dust, and it worked out for me. It’s a lipstick scent and I think it’s one probably one of the more wearable in Bianchi’s catalog.

I feel like Alien was groundbreaking for a designer fragrances of its debute. it was still pulverizing but it kinda fit that 2008 aesthetic. now, ESPECIALLY with the reformation, It feels a bit dated simply bc of the amount of white florals. most people under 40 arent looking for strong white florals (not saying 40 is old, but they were around the age of their target demographic of the time).

😂 I will never quite understand the gate for Erba Pura. Its just fruit and musk and a beautifully composed fragrance on my skin.
When you said you were smelling like Esther wearing No. 5 I literally laughed out loud! I am 45, and wore it in my late teens and early twenties as well. I always got compliments, though - even from little kids at the preschool I worked at. I stand by my choices. 🤣🤣🤣 The worst thing I ever smelled was Calvin Klein Escape. I actually threw up. Black Orchid is second - I was closer to a sink I could scrub it off in that time, THANK GOD! Red Door was a slightly powdery, honeyed tuberose situation. It was my grandma’s signature, but also worn by my sister in law (who was about 15 years older than me), and one of my besties (my age) so it appealed to a variety of folks back in the day. I liked it, but never owned it. Haven’t tried the reformulated version, but it must be different because I can’t imagine the OG getting so much hate. It did come out after Dior Poison so it was pretty palatable at the time. Anyway, thanks for the video and for the laugh! Have a good week!

Good fortune has a fennel note that pulls very herbal/medicinal for some people. It’s not the worst thing I ever smelled, but I wouldn’t want to smell it on myself all day.
I was expecting much worse lol. Was not great but definitely didn’t smell bad to my nose.

I like Good Fortune! It reminds me of Alien, actually, and also like Prada Paradoxe. It really is just a generic white floral, but it’s pleasing and an easy reach. It’s got a licorice vibe at first but it fades to a nice jasmine vanilla on me.
I'm so happy you said you like Good Fortune, I'm in love with it. It gets so much hate, but I've come to realize body chemistry plays a significant role in Jasmine fragrances. I adore Alien as well. I have to get it.

My worst lately is La Vie Et Belle, and all the flankers. Just overpowering. I'm one of those people who cannot smell BR 540 or any of the dupes. I wish I knew what all the hype is about. (I just get a musty walnut kind of smell). I'm an Erba girl, and now want to try Guidance. Thanks 🌺

For me it’s Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. I love tobacco but that ain’t it. It’s way too overloaded on spices and fruits, like someone flicked cigarette ash into a fruit salad and left it out in the sun. But I agree overall, everyone has different opinions, just wear what you like (after testing it first!)
I used to feel the same way about NO 5 but then one day I randomly came across a tester of No 5 L’eau and it knocked my socks off. Chanel kept the classy elegance of No 5 but tweaked it just enough for the younger crowd to be able to wear it. It’s also the only citrus forward fragrance I love.
I don’t know about good fortune but all I know is I haven’t come across any perfumes I liked from Victor & Rolf. They just don’t work with my skin.I haven’t tried Fenty but I think it sounds beautiful and I am definitely going to try it out.

I haven't smelled the original and the notes are NOTHING alike but I love the Good Fortune Elixir Intense. It's addictive to me, and nothing like what I normally wear. But it's got incense, jasmine, and sandalwood in it which is probably why I love it.
I love big, vintage, musky florals and woody, spicy, leathery fragrances. So it really is left field for me lol I usually smell like an Esther

I love Alien & Angel but I can't not come near my sister in-law it's a Hate for her. I tried Guidance I didn't care for it but later it smelled amazing on the dry down. Good fortune is a hate for me Triggered me to having a headache.
I don't like Good Fortune because of the fennel note! And it's in the anisic fragrance family which many people don't like so I can see why it's unpopular, but it may have more popularity in other regions of the world

I actually like Sex and the Sea but it definitely was NOT a safe blind buy for ANYONE. It is certainly an acquired taste, and even though I liked it, I wouldn't have wanted to wear it more than a couple hours. Not sure if it was the dry down or if the scent was just linear and it was too persistent. But Yeah, I like the uniqueness of it but it's the only one I've tried and it was like a 2-3ml decant anyway.
I knew when that Cockatiel was rocking that blouse it was a wrap😂🤣😂 I want to love Erba Pura because that👏🏽 blue👏🏽 bottle👏🏽…but all I get is delicious fruit soaked in isopropyl rubbing alcohol, not just on me, on errbody! 😆
Interestingly there are several niche house notes that give rubbing alcohol or gasoline to my olfactory glands 🤔 I can’t believe I’m advanced enough to adore Guidance! You did a fabulous job with this theme!

Have you tried Profumum Roma’s Vanitas? It’s a vanilla with myrrh and to me it’s almost a fresh vanilla easy to wear in summer.
I have not tried that one yet. Will it also work for fall you think??
@@SharidaM I do! I actually got it to layer with Naxos-as a way to lighten it up a bit. I actually layer it with a lot of their others which are generally linear, but that means I get a lot of neat combos! Xo

Normally I’m nervous about wearing a fragrance that’s polarising because I hate negative comments about my frag but with guidance I literally don’t care because I’m totally addicted so much I’ve wore it every day and not even thought about picking up my others. I’ve purchased every formula of angel, 6 bottles in total and sold immediately, straight up body odour on me

I hated Good Fortune! I struggle with Neroli and thus smelled like neroli even though it's not a note. I can't tell you what it was but I had to scrub it. My daughter hated it too. It smells cheap and cloying.
I don't like Black orchid, but I don't hate it. Cow by Zoologist just smells like fruity shampoo on me. I own a bottle for when I just want to smell clean but different. I will be getting a sample of Guidances soon.
Harvest Mouse by Zoologist is so beautiful it’s a vanilla amber I highly recommend giving it a try !! It was my first niche full bottle purchase.

Erba pura is like rotten fruits . I was so glad I didn’t blind buy it . Guidance starts off smelling so good and then it changes into a big mess . I hate it so much . Rosendo Mateu smells like straight up rubber tire and vanilla . I think people who say the tire smell goes away have just gotten used to it but everyone else can still smell it .

The perfume i hate the most is Youthdew from Estee Lauder.smells like a 98 years old lady who is about to die very soon.
I never smelled the originals of Alien or Angel - I think Alien today is fine, I like it but I probably wouldn’t buy it since I have a fairly large collection. But Angel?? I love her 😭 I used to hate patchouli until I smelled that perfume! Now I love it - I get a really chocolate-y vibe in Angel rather than soil but hey every nose has its own preferences haha

I actually really like Guidance too. It's so interesting and complex. It reminded me of Santal Royale by Guerlain--just a much more feminine, leather-free version of it. Take out the oud and leather and add the apricot and hazelnut and they have a strong similarity, probably the musk and sandalwood. It's sweet, it's nutty, musky, and woody. I'm here for it! Angel by Mugler-here's my tip. Get the body cream. The perfume is too heavy, especially with the patchouli, but the body cream, that's where it's at. It's lighter on the patchouli and more gourmand and Angel is so strong that the body cream will last you forever. A little goes a long way! The one thing you can say about Mugler fragrances is that you get your money's worth because most of them are beasts that project!
Fenty perfume...the worst. I don't get it. It's just bad to my noes. I wouldn't dare put it on me!

I had the original Angel and loved it. But when I wore it, a female law partner told me on the side not to wear it because the secretaries said I stunk. Same with Alien. But to me, these are original takes so I can never hate them.

Yeah the musk is quite make or break. It was quite lovely on my skin for the full wear. For some reason still have not added a full bottle. Maybe when I finish up with some of my Terenzi fragrances. I have enough musky fruit bombs for now LOL. 💞

You've made my afternoon, I've been laughing at your reactions! Ok so my MOST HATED note in perfumery is incense, I frickin' HATE it! I don't like it in the air and I definitely don't want it on my skin (got me smelling like some cheap massage parlor), that's why I cannot stand Good Fortune! However, there's a combination that to my nose is even more vile; it's incense paired with nutmeg... if you want to make me gag, all it takes is 1 spray of Delina, and then take a step back... LOL
