Charlotte Tilbury's Scent of a Dream. OMG! But the bottle is gorgeous.
We need more videos in the community like this. Our noses are too different for everyone to like it.
I chuckle because iced pound cake only wears well for me with Puffletuff. 😂

Love the video! These videos are just as helpful as the ones where you talk about the fragrances you love. Also, a failed buy doesn't make it a bad scent. It just didn't work for you. I LOVE Angel's Share on paper but on my skin it smells like my skin is burning ashes.
Agreed! Failed Buys teach us lessons about what doesn't work for us personally. I must admit that I passed off Angel's share because I tried a couple of dupes and they were straight up pancake syrup on me, but when I sampled the original, whew it went smooth. Still not something I would reach for daily, it gives me November vibes. 🍁🍂

Loved this video, it just goes to show that everything is not for everyone. You mentioned a few fragrances that I enjoy and no need to apologize for your experience. For instance I enjoy Eau De Vanille, I love spice and more masculine leaning fragrances (not all the time), but you enjoy it better on your husband.. I purchased a scent for my partner, from Dua, and loved it so much I think I'll wear it more than him😅. Thanks again for sharing.

Oh, my gosh! I love your candor and your humor! My worst blind buy was definitely Armaf Club de Nuit. I haaaaaated it! All of those citruses and florals sounded divine, but the reality was more like sour gasoline. It was SO bad, y'all. I know there are those who love it and say it smells like fresh oranges. Uh...no.
My biggest disappointment was Poets of Berlin. I wanted to love it so much. The inspiration was everything. Poets...Berlin...David Bowie. The blueberry and lemon top notes and the vanilla and sandalwood base notes just sounded so perfect. That said, I wasn't familiar with the mid notes. I never made it to the mid. It was a literal scrubber for me after a torturous 30 minutes. So sad. It was only a (long awaited) sample, though, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
A PERFECT example of "sample responsibly" (nice phrase!) for me was Kilian Love Don't Be Shy. I adore Kilian. It's my favorite house, hands down. EVERYONE adores LDBS. Of course I was going to love it. Was it you that gifted me a sample? It. Was. Awful. To my nose, it was warm orange soda. Nauseating. In fact, it was so bad that I swore off orange blossom for almost a year. THEN they came out with Can't Stop Loving You which is also orange blossom forward, and I swear if I could only have one fragrance for the rest of my life, that would be a very strong contender.
Poets of Berlin is a bit rough in that opening, I will agree!! I don't mind it and find it very unique, plus the dry down is amazing! Sounds like it tortured you! 😆
Your ldbs story never gets old , mainly because it made you swear off orange blossom until you met can't stop loving you! So interesting! Ty for sharing.😊
I feel you on lemon pound cake. At first I loved it but after a couple of tries it was not doing it for me. I did a massive declutter and yes that want left. Genre Essence, eau de Vanille left too but another 13, silky woods BR540 and handful
More stood the test of time. I’m at 20 fragrances. Looking to declutter at least 10-7 more.
Our tastes change over time as well, nothing wrong with it.🤗 I will declutter eventually because nothing fits and we're still trying samples over here daily!!🫣

I initially liked Angel Nova when I bought it last summer, but since then, I have been exposed to do many more scents that are better that I don't care to wear it anymore. I haven't worn it any this summer. Time to declutter!

The Rhubarb in the Angel Nova is too much. It turns it to a sour mess to me.
I do like Fame from Paco Rabanne, but I hate de bottle so much that I decant it to a generic bottle.
I adore Amethyis Lalique. I can't smell any rose in it, mostly blackberry.
By the way, I got an unrelated question. What would you say it's the best Love don't be shy dupe?
Do you think Caramel Overdose is a better option than Floral Marshmellow? I have Melodie from Orientica (spot on dupe of Sintra from Memo), which I love but it's greener, with a stronger jazmin I think.
Thank you! I prefer the Floral Marshmallow, only because it doesn't turn screechy after wearing it all day,it stays fluffy sweet. The Caramel Overdose, as much as I love it, tends to turn a little sharp towards the end of the wear. Hope that helps! 🤗

I’m super over Baccarat. It’s not bad, but never understood the obsession.
That's wonderful. It was awful on me and didn't feel quite finished. Maybe it's a quality control issue. I have heard of others really liking it as well.
The Baccarat has a scent that reminds me of my upbringing in a hospital which is comforting to me, others have other reasons, I love to hear about all the likes and dislikes about it though, I find it so interesting!

BLEND OF THE DAY: Dior (the Dua, the one w-popcorn note and Brazilian Crush 71. Received a compliment 3 hours after spraying my cubicle and shawl on chair :) at office.

Good day to everyone. Hola Janelle, 👋... as you know, my major challenge is my nose. I have never experienced headaches and if I.cannot smell a parfum, I gift it to family. I cannot smell Mugler Goddess Intense or Girl of Now! That may be my own nose failing not the parfum itself. 😢😅

Fame Le parfum is better than the original fame. Although I prefer to mix alien goddess with B&BW mango lagoon - that combo is perfection

I totally agree about lush! The names do not match the actual fragrance and they have strange notes and very loud and obnoxious. Also so heavy in essential oils I developed atopic dermatitis from the perfume. That store is a pass for me!
Oh no! Sorry to hear that! This was the first scent I was really excited to try and was a hard pass. I do have about 5 samples I might tackle one day.

I had a parfum from Etat Libre D'Orange called Putain des Palais or maybe it was Secretions Magnifique... it is art perfumery but I could not wear it! It was ... Secretions!

I feel like Paco Rabane fragrances have this “dog dorito feet” vibe in the dry down that ruins it. My husband told me to never wear Angel Nova. It has that intense woodiness that kills it.
For me Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad smells like pee pee. Glad I sampled that one. Lush Lust is a no go because of that Jasmine. Lush is a weird one.
Not the Doggie Dorito Feet smell?!!!!😆 I'm grateful GGGB stays fresh and floral versus musty pee territory for me, we can't win them all though, lol. Lush is tough, they're extra triple strength! Ty for sharing!🤗
I can't do Lush Lust either - it's wayyyyy too indolic and smells like halitosis for the full wear - won't do that again! :)

That one has a love or hate type response I've seen! 😆 Might be the medicinal smell, but since I'm a Nurse and actually was raised inside a hospital my first 17yrs of life, I find it a very comforting scent.
