  • Welcome to the Urban Hobby Farm. This is Ben, and in this video we are going to look at how I built a door for my backyard chicken coop.
The Urban Hobby Farm is a Small Holding/ Homestead or Hobby Farm in suburban Brisbane, Australia. It's a warm, humid climate most of the year with a long growing season.
The Urban Hobby Farm is a mecca of Homemade DIY Do It Yourself with Carpentry items made from Plywood and pine.
We also love our Home Grown backyard Crops of vegetables and fruit.
We love our Chickens and have made and designed a backyard Chicken Coop and tractor run for our cook pen. We have a variety of Chooks and Poultry being Leghorns, Rhode Island Red and Isa Brown. Bantam Veggie Prepper

Hi, thanks for the video. I am in the process of making a pvc chicken run. The trickiest thing I have found if figuring out a predator secure latch for the door. I wondered what latch you used. I could not tell from the video. Also, what size pvc did you use? Thanks so much and your run looks great!

the other advantage of the mesh you have choosen is snakes wont get through and baby chicks wont escape... my next coop with be made with that type of mesh...

Reference to the door, it would have been easier to put pins in the top and bottom for the door to pivot on. Like used on bi-folding doors. The top pin is spring loaded so you can install or remove the door. Otherwise, I really liked your setup. Very nice.
