I could listen to her forever
Absolutely stunning singing.
I think the older performances of Cherubino, such as Edith Mathis's, are some of the best and are underrated
Beautiful voice
One of the very best performances of that out of this world piece of music, which by the way is so perfectly constructed, that I believe even the lousiest singer cannot possibly manage to ruin it.
I was smitten by Maria Ewing's version though, who, I'm starting to believe, was born to sing it once in her twenties, like no one else before or since.
Voi che sapete is not easy to sing and needs a VERY GOOD singer!
Agreed with your assessment of Maria Ewing. She's forever etched in my mind as the best.
@@bauchmann9971 Absolutely! It's not an easy aria.
I could look at (& listen to) the Countess all day. PS: Lovely Edith Mathis.
Edith Mathis ❤🌹👏🏼👏🏼
Such a perfect mix:) A very very pretty voice.
Beautiful women, all Beautiful!
Bravo.
Almost make me cry...
Preciosidade
I have watched multiple performances of this song. They always do a very good job of making the singer look like a boy.
That's deliberate; normally he is a page boy, but it is a role for a soprano, and we no longer have castrati.
@@jothughes9950 I know. It’s common in opera for women to play boy parts. I believe the reason for that is because actual boys don’t have the voice box to handle this sort of thing.
Cherubino IS a boy
susanna is so skilled! She's not even strumming and she's still making music!
Stupendo!
Grande, meravigliosom divino.
superbe !
EXCELENTE!!!!!
Toll - ganz beeindruckend!!!
Não canso de ouvir está haria
Che bella Contessa!
Lupo A. Janelli Agreed. And how! Irresistible.
Lupo A. Janelli Unhappily, Claire Watson died at age 59 of a brain tumour. 😢
Melodia linda ❤❤
Best Cherubino ever
andreea94a I have always loved her too in the role. Even in German. Something special, delicate, subtle but felt.
My fav for acting and voice is Fredericka von Stada!
A perfect thempo, often they sing to fast.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤩
Who is that delightful Susanna?!
Reri Grist
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Did you know that Chreubino succeeds in impregnating the Contessa in the final part of the Figaro saga?
Voi che sapete
che cosa è amor,
donne, vedete
s'io l'ho nel cor.
Quello ch'io provo
vi ridirò,
è per me nuovo,
capir nol so.
Sento un affetto
pien di desir,
ch'ora è diletto,
ch'ora è martir.
Gelo e poi sento
l'alma avvampar,
e in un momento
torno a gelar.
Ricerco un bene
fuori di me,
non so chi'l tiene,
non so cos'è.
Sospiro e gemo
senza voler,
palpito e tremo
senza saper.
Non trovo pace
notte né dì,
ma pur mi piace
languir così.
Voi che sapete
che cosa è amor,
donne, vedete
s'io l'ho nel cor.
comunque bisogna vedere Strdbler
I think she was a better Susanna than a Cherubino...
Quatsch
@@bauchmann9971 Thanks for writing in your own language, first of all. That really helps communication. You think it's non sense what I wrote, but it reflects my personal taste. Her Susanna accompanied several years of my life (under Bohm direction). I think there is no better Susanna than her. Perhaps you find this to be a quatsch as well... But in any case, it is much better to motivate one's own responses than labeling someone' s opinion as a non-sense.
