Well yes of course... But by how much? And is it worth it?

you win the the lowest priced summicron award! yay! I got my V1 Dual Range Summicron with coating damage on the rear element and a few random specks of coating loss on the front elements for $500, the exterior is excellent condition and was recently CLA'd, i did notice it tends to glow a bit but still super sharp, very happy with it, shocked how sharp they are.

I'm quite sure if you haven't indicated the flaws of the lens that no one would have ever noticed by the images. Thanks for sharing

Well done Tom, I'll be amazed if this video doesn't get tons of views! I bought an immaculate Ricoh 1 as spares because it had a bad case if fungus, I still takes great shots unless I point it into strong sunlight 👍 I bought second spares R1 to swap the lenses over, but that works too!

Lucky find at that price even for a battered lens. I think in overcast conditions you are likely to get away with it, but in a high contrast scene it may be a different story. Good shots BTW.

Thank you for watching and yes I’m going to be using a lens hood to help control the high contrast scenes thanks again Tom

Even lousy lenses for Leica are recommened! It's stupid waste of money, when far less cash, gets you great lenses, by Canon, Nikon and Pentax! Maybe need to buy a SLR, which are reasonable! My Pro carreer was from Pentax Spotmatic and K models, Nikon-F etc, and Canon AE-1, AE-!P, Av-1! Try some out and be amazed..

I own Pentax’s Nikons and canons and my favourite lens is a 55 super takumar f2 which I use with my Pentax spotmatic I own meany different lens and camera not just Leica my most used lens is a Russian Jupiter 12 but you seemed to have over looked one thing most specs on lens there normally based off of Leica glass or element groups because Leica have been in the game far longer and the coatings on the lens are a lot better then other lens hence why there so expensive I get where your coming from there are many different lens that could most definitely out perform the summicron 50mm f2 but they have a legendary status for a reason thanks for your comment and watching kind regards Tom only analogue
