    I've been waiting for these vocal lines for a long time, since I can not tell how much. I can only thank you for your commitment and quality of work. As I am a Beatles fan since I was 4 years old (and now I'm 47), remaining always respected all the details involving his songs. Some may call preciousness, but the fact is that every detail in these fantastic songs are not just a mere detail - are genuine samples of passion and genius of the Beatles.

    That pedal-tone (one note) vocal part of Paul's on the top shows how much the Everly Brothers influenced he and John's singing. The Everly Brothers are the ones who popularized that pedal-tone, Kentucky Bluegrass style of singing one note on the top while the melody moves around underneath. You hear it in alot of the Beatles songs, "Please, Please Me" and "I'll Be Back" immediately come to mind. Check out the Everly Brothers catalog and you'll see where the Beatles and everyone since got it from. The more you listen, the more you will realize why the Everly Brothers were in that first class of inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and why we are still hearing their influence in music today. John and Paul mentioned when they were starting John would be "Don" and Paul would be "Phil". They even considered calling themselves the "Foreverly Brothers" before ending up with the name, The Beatles!

    Hey Galleazzo -- FANTASTIC! I've been waiting for you to do this one for some time, and you did not disappoint! One thing to note -- according to a number of sources, the additional vocals on the main chorus -- they're not overdubs, they're Ringo, Neil Aspinall, and Mal Evans! (So there's actually six voices there -- you noted Mal and Neil and Ringo in the middle eight, but they're there in the chorus, too.) But you've nailed the different parts -- sounds just like the record (which, of course we knew you would achieve). Brilliant stuff as always -- thank you SO MUCH for sharing.

      Oh, and more Queen harmony breakdowns would be great! :D

    • @LeChaunce
      @LeChaunce 9 лет назад

      Yes -- since they all had such similar vocal tones (well, other than Ringo), it's often difficult to make out who is who. Of course, you did a great job separating out all the harmony parts for us regardless of who sings which part -- you picked out all the subtleties that have been eluding me for decades now! Great job! I think I can finally record a proper cover now.

      The Applesauce Project Very well!

    • @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony
      @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony  9 лет назад +1

      The Applesauce Project The recording was as follows: on Feb 2 Paul recorded the Lead vocals along with John's and George's harmonies on track 4. More harmonies were overdubbed onto track 3. The two above tracks were then reduced into track 4. We can't really tell who was on which part of the song. Most probabley some of the vocals are by Neil, Mal and probably Ringo.: ) Hope this helps.
