i love jinjer because of the dynamics and how complex their heavy parts can be. the singles were everything i hoped for and your review calmed me down even more... new album releases of bands i like always make me nervous 😂
Tumbleweed sounds intetesting.
I really wanna hear them try making a soft album, I feel like it would be really beautiful and a great change of pace
Sounds like their greatest magnum opus to date!
I've heard the same notable highlights mentioned by multiple people. Can't wait to hear myself.
Saving it to watch after work. But I already know it's a great review as always, Pedro 🤘🏽
Excellent record
Dropped everything to watch this. My parcel will hopefully arrive any day now..
My personal ranking of the singles:
1. Green Serpent
2. Rogue, Duél
3. Someone's Daughter, Kafka
"Green Serpent" is the hookiest, most accessible song they've ever released, IMO, and yet it retains considerable complexity and progressivity, and that combination is a huge accomplishment. Having said that, it might prove not to have the same staying power in my rankings as something like "Rogue" or "Duél" - it might not have enough of the right kind of musical and thematic complexity to hold my attention over the long haul. Only time will tell.
Great reveiw
I cant wait for the album so badly
Dude this Album is insane! First listen today. It's definitely Progressive Groove Death Metal. Lots of elements. Sometimes Morbid Angel or Obituary and then sometimes Death and then Pantera and even Soundgarden and Alice Chains. And that can be all in one song. So many influences. Time and key changes happening all in the same passages. 😮 Roman is let loose on this album. Many moments where my eyebrows were raised in disbelief. A really really good Album. Absolutely Badass!!! 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
All songs sounded the same and droned on just like on their last 2 albums. Beyond boring
My CD was delivered to me today. I've had my first playthrough from start to finish. Heavy and brutal as expected. Wonderfully the signature Jinjer genre/sound with awesome musical twists/turns and bit of added vocal spice/melodies on top. Tatiana really stretched her vocals out here. No "death metal" at all that I hear. Very much identifiable Jinjer genre. 👍
this album need a few listen, just like the single, I was not hooked instantly, but i am on my third listening, and it's really great so far and better with each listen. and please dont listen to fast draw in your car, it could be dangerous
Did we ever get to the bottom of the question why there is an acute accent on the E of "Duel"? There is no accent on "duel" in English or French. It is "duello" in Italian and "duelo" in both Spanish and Portuguese (both Portugal and Brazil.) After that I'm stumped. I'm afraid to try Catalan or Romanian...
Great question!
Did I miss you explaining why you only talked about 3 of the 11 songs?
In all my reviews I pick 3 songs as my favourites of the record to illustrate my review. I also pick non-singles
@APREACTS Well, now I know -- and presumably I have to remember that, as you won't explain again.
Don’t forget to breathe…god forbid you forget to do it
I'd say that you are wrong in identifying Death Metal as one of Jinjer's genres -- nobody has ever suggested that. It is possible that what you are recognising is Hardcore, which was a precursor to both Death Metal and Metalcore. It is the latter which is often attributed to Jinjer. (It is probably best if we don't try to distinguish Metalcore and Djent...)
I said that this album has death metal elements I didn’t mean to say that death metal in general is one of their influences
@@APREACTS And I'm saying that you are incorrect in identifying death metal elements.
I believe you are incorrect in not identifying them
Eugene has even said it has some death metal elements himself and it’s listed as death metal/black metal on iTunes
They are more like metalcore!
Nah they are Jinjercore
Could we compromise on Djent?
@@johnbriggs3916 No, because most of the time they sound nothing like Meshuggah. The genre is Jinjercore. Or maybe simply progressive metal because that usually means a band is “all over the place” which Jinjer certainly are.
@@promovideos75 Most commentators recognise Meshuggah in "Rogue."
@@johnbriggs3916 This I can totally see but that song is definitely not summing up most of their catalogue. Still a great song though.
This album was more boring than Wallflowers. I think I'm done with hoping they'll release another good one...
