I'm an amateur photographer and lately I've been getting into film photography, and I never really realized that all of these movies were, yeah, shot ON FILM... You guys have shocked me. I worked on those same shots that Adam Savage worked on for Matrix Revolutions 18 years ago, and until today, I had no idea he was behind the practical side of the FX. I animated the lightning coming off of the Mjolner ship as it crashed through the gate and fell. I can add to the narrative here. We ended up replacing much of the ship in CGI, presumably because the model had more detail added in post production. There were also CGI sentinel(squiddy) robots added at the bottom of frame, being kicked up by the debris and crash. I was impressed with how convincing the blue lightning looked in how it lit up the smoke elements.

Personally I quite like the prequels, and I love the sets and models they did.
And I love Adam's descriptions of how the set designers work in their own backstory to each prop or set model. If you like that kind of visual storytelling you'll love the production of Mad Max: Fury Road. They didn't write a script; instead, they made thousands of storyboards in which they could showcase all the different designs and visual worldbuilding that the artists had in mind; so the movie is cluttered to the brink with detail, but everything is cohesive and doesn't distract from the story, it just adds to it. It's amazing.

Damn, every time i see Adam i get hit by such a huge nostalgia surge. This guy filled my childhood and young adulthood, he made me passionate about science and most importantly taught me to question and test everything, no matter how silly or pointless it might look at first. Of course the rest of the Mythbusters crew also played a significant role in that, but somehow Adam was and still is the most vivid representation of the spirit of that show. Had HUUUUGE crush on Kari ( i mean who hadn't), laughed almost to unconsciousness with Tory and his ability to self inflict injuries, was completely amazed by Grant and Jamie's ability to built incredible stuff, but Adam was like the finishing touch to all of that. The pure unrated, unfiltered emotion coming out of him is what bridged the TV and the viewers. His grown child personality on the show bonded perfectly with the inner child in each and everyone of us.
As for the video... well for me personally it's the best react video on this channel so far.

This is, absolutely perfectly said. Ive had the same experience all through childhood and as an adult now I still watch his RUclips and builds and just the pure unfiltered passion he has for creating is absolutely contagious. It fuels and pushes me every time and I love him forever for sharing that passion all the time.

This was an awesome Christmas treat, two of my favorite channels, as well as two adjacent disciplines, Practical and Special FX knowledged people. I would so love in Adam's next visit you guys trade notes on the strengths and weaknesses of practical and computer generated FX, because you have ley people constantly taking one side or another, but in the end they are both tools and with any tool its the artists job to know how to work with each tools strengths.

Maybe on Adam's channel with some practical demonstration in prop building. So much fun stuff to do
