Oh wow Teresa, that flower is fabulous. Loved the inspiration that you sourced. It's my turn next month, so expect a parcel winging it's way to you over the next couple of weeks. Lol 😊 x
Hello from Michigan! I'm Juliana, Celine's daughter. We watched your lovely video together tonight and just loved all your comments and inspiring art. The beads were purchased in Frankenmuth, Michigan at Bead Haven on one of our shoppings trips. Once you read through the book, you will find some more surprises....let me know when you find it! Thank you so much for sharing your art and conversation.
Hello, Juliana! What a fabulous surprise to hear from Celine's daughter -"Welcome". After I received Celine's beautiful package, I Googled "Behchoko" and found a wealth of 'Mackenzies' including -Elizabeth,, Alexander, Henry, Thomas... I discovered a wonderful story , full of rich history, exploration and trading. What a marvelous man Alexander must have been? I mentioned all this in my video but edited it out. I thought it might be too private if it relates to Celine's personal history. Regarding the book, which I love. I am wondering if your "surprises" are to do with p63 (Inuvialuit) and artist Agnes Nanogak? This page led to further research leading to places such as; Mackenzie River, M. Valley, M. Delta, M. Railway, M. Transportation...the list just goes on. The M. Valley, dates back to pre-historic people, 10, 000 years ago!!! I think Alexander Mackenzie was an amazing person and explorer to have so many places named after him. Am I barking up the right or the wrong tree? 🐕😁
I've found it!! I don't know how I missed Celine on p 31! Such beautiful bead work , like the piece she sent in her parcel. It s a great story. I laughed at the story of the pinking shears- it could have been about my lovely mum 😅 I love the example in the article and totally agree about not keeping patterns because of hindeting creativity and originality. @Celine...Congratulations it's a wonderful article. I can't believe I studied the beadwork and missed your name!! 😮 xx
