Hey Everyone!! a heads up: Not All Tokyo Lens Explore LIVESTREAMS will be posted after wrapping up. Make sure to turn on all notifications for this channel so you never miss a stream!! See you all, real soon~
To everyone checking please note: This stream will be at 5AM Japan time. in the bottom left of the screen you can see it says Premieres in x hours and you can set a reminder.
Oh no, Norm, why do you not post all the livestreams after wrapping up? we can sadly not make it to all of your livestreams because of the different time zones etc, but a lot of us still enjoy seeing your awesomeness post stream. nevertheless, keep it up with your great work ( ̄▽ ̄)
Man I miss Kagoshima! Due to the big typhoon back in 2018, we ended up in Kagoshima instead of Okinawa for a few days. We managed to arrive at the big Jazzfestival held every year and had a blast. bumped into the father of one of the founders of the festival, and he and his wife dragged us around the city to the best performances. To us, Kagoshima was one of the highlights of our trip, and we enjoyed it more than Tokyo and Kyoto. So thanks for sharing this, so we can reminiscence, and that hopefully more foreign visitors go down south and experience Kagoshima.
Both the 720 streams and 4K premieres have their place. I like being able to interact with you, choose directions on the streams and also like the 4K premieres that generally have a zen type feel and still interact with you and guests in the comments.
Norm, I love your enthusiasm in every vid! Every question you have, heck, even when you listen to someone in total silence, one can just feel the joy of just listening beaming from within you! Love this channel and the original Tokyo Lens channel! Keep up the good work!
Finally got a chance to watch the video! Awesome as always Norm. It took me right back to my honeymoon in 2018. We spent a day in Kagoshima and on Sakurajima. It was so peaceful just walking around the island getting to see the volcano. I even got a photo of the submarine!
Having grown up with volcanoes, Tacoma, Washington, this takes me right back there. In Kentucky now, but still miss the Ring of Fire. Thank you for another amazing video!
This was so amazing to watch! Mitch is full of knowledge & I loved learning more about this area. Would absolutely love for more walks around different parts around Japan with locals who can share the history of the area. Thank you so much for exploring with us, Norm!
I loved this. Sitting in my home in Australia I have gained a huge appreciation for Japan and it’s beauty. Please, Please, more like this. It is really wonderful.
I really liked Mitch's inputs, much like Alex's both of them are passionate as they share their knowledge about Kagoshima and Sakurajima. I would really love to hit them up one day if and when I go there. Thanks again Norm as always for bringing us with you in your adventures.
Thanks for another fact filled video Norm and Mitch! Really love those back alley walks. Volcano was very beautiful. A visit is definitely on my bucket list!
I will be honest, I planned to watch this in stages, but ended watching it from start to finish. So very enjoyable, and Mitch was an awesome guest. Thank You, Norm, for this content. Take care out there.
Since I can't get a visa atm, I appreciate the walking streams as this is what I used to do a lot as well - just have a general direction for a location and then I went on my own paths, almost no main roads
I doubt something like this would happen but if you ever need a tour or a list of the good spots in Yamanashi, I am up for helping ya. It would be cool to see the reaction of everyone in the comments to many of the spots I visited and know to be very amazing.
For exmaple, I am good friends with a tea ceremony master and he can introduce you to the tea ceremony community of Yamanashi. I think something like that can be a good thing to flim. I can also introduce you to a Shugendo practitioner, a yamabushi that lives in Kawaguchiko. So yea, I've used my time there to talk and meet interesting people xD Also, one of my former teachers (an American living in Japan for over 30 years probably) has a lot of acquaintances and friends tied with Japanese culture.
I loved this, thank you for bringing Mitch, and taking the ferry. As someone who lives on an island on the other side of the Pacific, I love seeing ferries!!! Everything was so interesting
What a super fun adventure, thanks for brining us along as always! Mitch is a fount of knowledge for that area and shared so much cool info! Enjoy your MEGA COFFEE!
Thank you so much for this video. It was so cool, Mitch is a big star and knows so much about the area. I definitely don’t mind if the video is 720 or 4k, as watching on the phones it does not make a big difference, and the life chat is fun.
I cant wait for my exchange year at Kagoshima University, which was postponed 2 times already due to Covid. Hopefully Japan will lift its entry restriction soon so that I can explore Kagoshima and Sakurajima myself.
Its the depth of winter here in New Zealand, it snowed last night and this was a very pleasant subtropical interlude. Your videos are always great but this was extra special, thank you for sharing.
Actually my first time to finish a whole hour of walking tour. You guys are awesome! I've enjoyed the beauty of Kagoshima and at the same time learned a lot from your trivia and facts. Thank you and will definitely tune in more of your future videos. Good job 😊
Came here to chill, ended up getting a crash course in this beautiful place. Great work as always, and thanks Mitch for dropping all that premium Kagoshima knowledge!
Thanks again for the video! Seeing it brought me back to when I used to ride my bike around the the route you took. I would hit that exact McDonald's when I craved a little taste of home. It also reminded me of the summer festivals that would happen in the parks you had walk passed. As always keep these great videos coming!
I know your videos are usually full of fun and interesting facts, but learning about the grass under the tramway was so cool. It looks awesome, and potentially has a great functional purpose as well. Now I want all tracks to have grass around them 😍
This video is really fun to watch and I liked hearing the little trivia about the place (some of which I wish was in the video like the monks and the ash ice cream).
I love 4k content just because you get to see so much more detail! But it's also fun having the premier and having you and any special guests hanging out in the chat as well so 720 is fine for that! :)
I think I prefer these premieres just because I can plan to be available to watch them a bit better, but exploring things in real time is also exciting! The quality of the video doesn't matter to me. I would trust your judgement which adventures would be better live or as premieres!
Okay, since you mentioned it I'm going to have to formally demand a video at Tanegashima. This video was fantastic and Mitch was a great guest. Keep up the great work!
Both livestream and premier are nice. I like the long form premier style videos cause it's higher quality and feels more casual compared to your main channel! Live streams are fun though as we can interact with you while filming!
Man, I'd love it if Mitch could go along with you for more videos! I know he'd probably wouldn't know as much for other regions, but I just love the way he has an explanation for everything, or a little story. I love to be that way when I am hanging out with friends. The way he explains even the hydraulics for the docking arm in the port, I love little details like those! Thanks for the stream Norm, one of your best ones yet! Sending positive vibes and support from Costa Rica :)
Damn, i'm reminiscing the good times when I lived here. I also met Mitch a few times out drinking. Good guy. This pandemic needs to end and let the world open up. Can't wait to go back to see family and friends.
@@TokyoLensExplore TY. Don't know how I missed that. Just subbed. Always happy to find new, fun and interesting people to follow and learn more about Japan.
It has been 4 years since I was at Kagoshima, but even then, did not get to spend time at Kagoshima, since it was a road trip of Kyushu and Kagoshima was just a two day stop T.T Always wanted to go back but never got the chance, since other parts of Japan came first XD and then the world turned to s***~~ Thanks Norm and Mitch for the tour~!! That was amazing~! Would love to go and visit and catch the Monk Band XD~!! Cheers~~
I would be really interested to see what the ash gets used for. do they sell it for use in concrete? is it used for plastic manufacturing or chemical processing or something?
Loved hearing Mitch talk about the city and all the information about the volcano was super interesting. Thanks for basically kidnapping him for the long walk 😂
Super fun video, I love all the extra info Mitch had on the area. I'm intrigued by the "ash ice cream", is it actually made with volcanic ash? Btw, I like any video, doesn't matter if it's 720 or 4k or 8k. ;p
Love Kagoshima, I stayed in Kanoya for some time and really enjoyed the people and the weather in the south. So different from the rest of the country. It would be good to see you explore more of the southern region including the dialects like Kagoshima Ben
While waiting I just read something about Takagari. But, there's no good clip on youtube about that. Maybe that's a thing for one of your channels. I made some pictures of a falconry event in Germany, a while ago. These fast birds are quite a challenge, but I think you have the skills for that.
damn the ferry is actually so cool and very convenient ahaha, although that city looks lovely, i think the of living next to an active volcano would scare me to much ! 😅

Will be sad if I miss one :( hopefully you'll leave them up for at least a day before unlisting them?
I feel so bad! I missed the rest of this! I'm sorry. Had to help my brother as soon as I got back. *sad face*
Sad that not all livestreams will be posted. you post too dang early lol. thanks for the stream though!
Love how knowledgeable Mitch was about his city. I aspire to reach his level someday and would enjoy if he made an appearance again!
The thing that i love about Japan is how Japanese maintain their cleanliness, look at the city, even the alley way are neat af!

The whole place is beautiful

Ah Norm, that starting viewpoint you mentioned is amazing, definitely on a spot ill revisit on next trip to kagoshima
Mitch is really interesting and has a lot of useful information!
Norm, I love your enthusiasm in every vid!

The guy's so informative! A great tour guide!

45:35 very cool ferry. The frequency of the runs is incredible.
Fun fact the tram with perth written on it is due to kagoshima and perth australia being sister cities for now about 40 years 😊
I loved this. Sitting in my home in Australia I have gained a huge appreciation for Japan and it’s beauty. Please, Please, more like this. It is really wonderful.

It was great!!! to know a city.... to learn while 'walking' with you and Mitch!!! i hope also your day is beautiful.... i want an ash icecream!
Thanks for another fact filled video Norm and Mitch! Really love those back alley walks. Volcano was very beautiful. A visit is definitely on my bucket list!
Reliving my experience. Same route. Thanks for this.
Love the stream, those narrow alleys and streets, with those small shops and diners, is so enchanting.
Kagoshima looks so great here! And I really loved hearing all the fun facts from Mitch. Definitely on my list to visit now!
38:38 I saw the 2nd half of this before too. Glad I saw the first part now. Mitch dropping lots of history in there.
I will be honest, I planned to watch this in stages, but ended watching it from start to finish.
So very enjoyable, and Mitch was an awesome guest.

Sounds like a fun walk! Looking forward to the Premiere!
I miss japan so much, even the sounds of the pedestrian crosswalks, so I am always happy to hear that sounds in your videos 😆
Even the trees in the island arra are so pretty..
I cant wait for my exchange year at Kagoshima University, which was postponed 2 times already due to Covid. Hopefully Japan will lift its entry restriction soon so that I can explore Kagoshima and Sakurajima myself.
Great video as always! Have you ever considered doing a video about Miyazaki City? Aoshima island is a visual mystery.
What a journey!
I didn’t catch the whole thing, but this was fun. Thanks for hanging out with us, Norm!
Always love your videos ❤
Your narrating is much better than others!

Great history lesson thanks guys!
This was a very educational stream! Loved it!

Great job!❤
ahhh the shrine is also the one place i didnt get to visit when i went to sakurajima this year, i'm so happy you're going so i can see it!
4:46 Genki Volcano the much awaited follow up to Too Much Volcano.
This are definitely a pick-me-up, love the vids.
I know your videos are usually full of fun and interesting facts, but learning about the grass under the tramway was so cool. It looks awesome, and potentially has a great functional purpose as well. Now I want all tracks to have grass around them 😍
Awesome.I never visit the Kagoshima.

I loved that you had a friend with you on this one. :) How was the ash ice-cream?
My son lives here now since before the 2011 Tsunami up in Tokyo.
He grew up in Italy, hard to think of him here...
I think I prefer these premieres just because I can plan to be available to watch them a bit better, but exploring things in real time is also exciting! The quality of the video doesn't matter to me. I would trust your judgement which adventures would be better live or as premieres!
These walking/exploring videos make me want to go there even more 😃
Really enjoy when someone joins you. Loved it
Missed most of this, lost my internet after a thunder storm, lovely rain we really needed though lol
Yayyy! Super excited about this. Your streams/videos are so relaxing
Thank you so much
Means a lot!
I am so in love with that downtown shop area. And I'm with you about the balsa wood airplanes!
I loved that style of premiere. And fun that you were able to be more involved in the live chat than you can be whilst walking around, etc. Great 👍🏻
This is one of my favs on your channel, sad it's soo short :) I enjy your chat , great video

and also, I now need to visit Kagoshima and Sakurajima because of your documentary!
Listen to this 30:00 😄 it's kind of wholesome honestly.
Like your narration. You make the visual and words very interesting. Keep up the great work.
My history nerd self really appreciates all of the interesting stories about the development of Kagoshima. 😊
This is the best way to spend the first day of lockdown! Awesome stream! Hopefully I don’t miss the next 🙏

What a very interesting city Kagoshima is I love the history
Great livestream! A few years ago I was in Kochi and they also have tram tracks with grass
I always loved Japan and Japanese culture growing up. 🎎 🥰
Couldn't make it on time, but started watching now, just before sleep! ❤
We need a livestream just for cats, and maybe pigeons, but mainly cats... GO NOW! :)
Lol needs to happen
pyroclastic flow is the best volcanic buzz word
Like the livestreams and the premiers equally. Which I realise doesn’t help to see which people prefer 🙃😏
But uuuurmmmm… party on a ferry?!
I am 100% down for the idea of having a party on a ferry!!
@@TokyoLensExplore excellent. I await my invitation in the post 🧐🧐🧐
