i just moved to downtown salem and thankfully i'm able to walk everywhere, but i have noticed that salem drivers are very non-observant... i have been hit by a car once when i had the right of way to cross the street and an older lady was trying to turn left into a one-way street and didn't see me. there were couple other near-misses but this hasn't happened to me anywhere else

I will admit for all Oregonians here...we are terrible drivers. Where did you end up moving from?
I wonder, are the walkable neighborhoods more expensive to purchase a home in?
Depends on the neighborhood.
North of downtown is more economically feasible. South of downtown is more expensive.
