I think for Kalafina as for all excellent Japanese music, it's an exposure issue. These songs will not be played in places for people to hear the beautiful composition and vocal performances. That's why Yuki Kajiura attending more avenues for exporuse is so important, such as the AniMagic in Germany earlier this year, and the Crunchyroll Anime concert also this year (even though the atrocious technical situation with the sound ruined Fiction Junction's performances).

The way Hikaru dances is soooo cute... All these rubbish comments about who sings better than who or who is the prettiest... K'mon, this is absolute bullshit. Just enjoy the show! Kalafina is a BAND not a solo effort. They are all great singers (without any voice assistance onstage contrary to their US or EU counterparts...) and honestly really pretty. And for those here who pretend to be experts criticizing Hikaru safely eating popcorn behind their desks, you would be wise to remember that she was selected after a massive 37'000 (!) singers audition... Then maybe you would be a little bit less arrogant. Maybe... But in any case: given their massive success, they are way above that, sticks and stones may break their bones, words will never hurt them.
I agree about Hikaru (she's my favourite). Yuki Kajiura chose Hikaru herself! She knows a good voice when she hears one, and Hikaru added something to Kalafina that no other vocalist would have - her unique vocal timbre, personality, and charm. You are right that Kalafina is the three of them, that's why Fiction Junction could only cover "Sprinter" with Keiko and Hikaru in the center. Yes, one can say that since the drummers or arrangement could change between studio and live performances, but the front vocalists is a whole other matter. Even if Yuki Kajiura did a revival/cover project with Keiko Hikaru or brought in rito and LINO LEIA it still wouldn't be exactly the same as Kalafina.

I am thinking it would be weird now for Kajiura to invite the ladies to cover Kalafina songs in FJ, while they are actually active and doing the songs themselves. The only question is if Kalafina will continue an active schedule after the reunion live - I suspect Sony will be watching this very closely (opportunity for more money to be made if it's successful).
