Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. I spent an entire day and a half trying to figure out how to make a decent looking blog using this builder you nailed it and I am grateful.
That's awesome Carolyn! I'm so glad I could help :) I'll keep trying to make more to help you an other people explore Divi further. It's a powerful Theme!
I try to write primarily in gutenberg, and use the theme builder to deliver it as a nice template. Divi is awesome for layouts but I can't stand writing with it haha
I don''t have a video on that sorry, but I'll add it into my list of Divi videos to look at. I typically just use the default WordPress editor. Otherwise, I'd treat it like any other page when editing. Some tips that may help: If you want a full width page editor , I'd make the Section & row the post content module is on (in the Theme Builder) full width under 'sizing'. So pop everyinthg up to 100% width. Or if you still want it constrained to a certain width but want to maximize your design within that width - apply the above sizing to your sections and rows in that design. I will do up a video in the next couple of weeks though, as I feel it could be useful for many people including yourself.
@@carolyn1174 That's it! Haha :) I'm definitely going to do that video soon now. It seems to be in demand. Give me some time to sit down and plan it out but it's definitely coming now :)
The user is someone with limited capacity. Just a simple post from a phone. Example: lost dog. A photo and some text. I feel Divi adds too many steps. But I haven’t executed a plan. Wondering what others have done
It's not simple, I agree. I haven't tried this but there is an area in settings you can create a way to email posts in. I am not sure how it works but someone out there may have a video on it
How do I create a blog series similar to how I have in Wordpress, by having a Shared Title: Different Sub Titles, such that the several blog posts become linked showing all blogs from the series at the bottom of a blog post that is within the series?
I would say the best way is using categories, and linking them up manually...OR you can add PAge breaks i to your content and keep expanding on the one post. ruclips.net/video/e-SYdB1aG5E/видео.html
I haven't looked myself, I'd check the Divi Marketplace. I wish I could be more helpful with that. However you could try setting a shorter character limit, turning off the excerpt (which I think works well if you had the read more button) or again, if you know CSS, define a set height for each blog entry (obviously having to code is less preferred).
How were you able tô place 3 blog posts on top and 5 ones on bottons? Are they sequentials? If not how do you define which ones Go on top and which ones Go on bottom? I want tô place two sets of blog modules, but i always get repeating content...
@@SonnyBurnett2012 Hey Sonny, that's exactly right. If you have 3 on the top module, then the second module just pop 3 into the 'Post Offset Number' under the 'Content' tab. It's handy for adding some variety to the layout :)
I Just go Crazy because i have 40 blog Pages and i get Lost tô know (or tô define), the Pages order. Só i dont know How to define the order Pages i want (maybe creating a numbered category?). But this way, How to avoid the number bê displayed on the meta data?
@@SonnyBurnett2012 I would check out this video I did a little while go, it goes over custom ordering. I found it works with Divi too if the order is just the default setting: ruclips.net/video/6FefD8bu-I4/видео.html
You would need to use Categories and set up multiple blog modules showing only the selected category for each area. There may be another way but that's how I'd approach it. Or you would possibly need to learn some CSS to style certain categories.
@@WadeMcMaster Thank you, After searching I found "Divi Gear - Divi Blog Module" it give me more control on reorder category and metadata, but it not give me option to give every category different color so I think the only solution is play with CSS
The simplest way in my mind would be to: 1. dashboard you can go to 'Appearance' - 'Menus' and create a menu for the categories. 2. go to 'Appearance' - 'Widgets' - if Divi is installed you should be abl eto add a new widget area, pop the custom menu in there with your categorys listed and save 3. on your divi page, create a layout with narrow column on the side you want. Add a 'Sidebar' module and select that widgetized area

You're very welcome! Thank you for letting me know as it makes me happy to know i can help :) have a good day!
Great over the shoulder teaching of what's possible with Divi. I'm discovering how much I've underutilised many of its features.Thank you!!

Fantastic is an understatement for this video!

Thanks for sharing. I have learned something

Excellent video and Master Class Wade, I would like to ask you if you create a new post you use the editor in Divi or Gutenberg?
I try to write primarily in gutenberg, and use the theme builder to deliver it as a nice template. Divi is awesome for layouts but I can't stand writing with it haha
Also, thank you for the very kind feedback :)
Thank you so much for the clear instruction! 🙂
No problem, thank you for checking out my video!
For the grid view of the blog, can you change the size of the image or does this need to be done in the actual image under media?
Unfortunately it needs to be done to the image itself.
It's cool 🎉
Do you have a video to edit the actual page that renders the individual post after you clilck on it in the design you just made?
I don''t have a video on that sorry, but I'll add it into my list of Divi videos to look at. I typically just use the default WordPress editor. Otherwise, I'd treat it like any other page when editing.

so how does a user post to this.. guessing a general blog page? like say a specific category a post to page with basic stuff for users. ?
You can just use the visual builder on a page directly. Or you can use the theme builder and apply it to categories, archives and so on
@@WadeMcMaster thank you

So many people seem to do blogs in totally different ways.
Definitely. This is good point if you're not sure where to start but whatever you want to build, go for it!
Nice
how to make images in grid same size? tx
I typically upload images at a certain size or use CSS to set a max-height. I haven't found an easier solution but will see what I can find!
