The infamous boy racer/chav car. I love the fact that it came in colour which can only be described as "fake tan orange". Someone at Ford had a sense of humour. A really good hot hatchback - until Ford finally made a 4 WD version of the Focus. Only one big downside of the car is there's no left foot rest(so long motorway journeys aren't as comfortable).
I actually bought one, (ST not the 'Stang) I couldn't agree with you less. It is one of the best combinations of refinement and speed. Resonable fuel economy, fun around town, and when the mood takes you, an absolute speed demon, throw it a twisty mountain road and it will thrill. The EcoBoost is a feat in itself, not an ounce of turbo lag, perhaps it takes longer exposure to fully appreciate the brilliance of the Focus ST.
I have this model, bought it little less than 1 year ago,no problems what so ever. There was 95 000 km test drive before me:)Summer time so damn fun to drive with snakeing roads, you can trust it doesnt pushing out of the road at tied corners. And now winter time its great also, its warming inside very fast even -30C and with the right tires you can enjoy it"almost"like summer:)Love the car and love Top Gear:)

S/T stands for Street Technology and R/T stands for Racing Technology. That badge all depends on the type of equipment put into the car; brakes, suspension, turbo etc.
I had a test drive in a new ST, and i liked it. You do miss the rumble of the five pot, and it hasnt got the same grunt on lower revs. But it shifts very nicely, and has loads of power. Mountune is working on a performance upgrade for the ST, so there is still some performance to get out of it. You have to compare the new ST to the Golf GTi (easy to live with, civilised hot hatch) and the Focus beats the GTi with ease.

The fuel economy is not as bad as people make out. Don't know what everyone else does to theirs, but even on really short journeys mine never drops below 25mpg. On proper runs, it's more like 32-35mpg even driven quickly.
Correct and while you say 'faster' that is slightly faster in a straight line, yet slower in the corners. The ST beat the VXR in lap time tests of the day and everyone praised it as being far more fun and better handling
The Astra VXR did it in 1 min 33, I think and the Focus ST did it in 1 min 34. The ford did a 1 min 34 on a slightly damp or moist track. when he said that his focus was the most reliable vehicle he's ever owned i literally fell out of my chair laughing. my mothers focus was reliable, until it hit 100k miles, then it basically had a switch flip telling everything on the car to fall apart. leaky thermostat housing, vacuum leaks, clogged fuel filter, rear hub spindle and control arm broken so bad they welded together, bumpers falling off (plastic anyways), radio quit working, door locks broken/jammed, and broken spark plug wires.
Way to listen to a video praising the car, then insult it on no basis, with no supporting information. Truly a great example of exceptional intelligence.

guy named arin 2 doors does not strictly appeal to Europe. Would be nice to see it in a 2-door model in the US.
well there actually is not a current 2 door version of the current focus. only 4 door, 5door hatch, and 5 door wagon. and there was a 2 door focus in the us (2010 focus coupe), but it was a completely different car and it was terrible. but the three door hatch back SVT from 2000 that's about the closest thing your are going to get in the US, and you can pick it up for like 5k.
Over a decade later and I STILL find the bit with 'Bananza' by Akon living in my head rent free. Incredible.
2:33 xD
when he said that his focus was the most reliable vehicle he's ever owned i literally fell out of my chair laughing. my mothers focus was reliable, until it hit 100k miles, then it basically had a switch flip telling everything on the car to fall apart.
leaky thermostat housing, vacuum leaks, clogged fuel filter, rear hub spindle and control arm broken so bad they welded together, bumpers falling off (plastic anyways), radio quit working, door locks broken/jammed, and broken spark plug wires.
Half a V10
Way to listen to a video praising the car, then insult it on no basis, with no supporting information. Truly a great example of exceptional intelligence.

Must be Top Gear.
This is one of my most favourite cars. I really like the focus st's. Mk2 or mk3 doesnt matter. Same for the rs models
Got to love how we are still watching top gear from like 12 years ago
I still have my PB ST2 and she's 11 years old and still going strong :)
hilarious choices of music. almost fell over with laughter when my milkshake came on at 00:58.
If you are in europe! In the US, the family cars (with the exception of the Fiesta) are made here in the U.S.. One of the cool things about Ford is that they tend to build their cars in the same regions that they sell them!
The production value they put into this show is what got me into in the first place
I love that colour, but I even love the green more on the RS one.
it's just crazy how it pops out of the boring terrain around and the boring silver and grey cars all around.
Base model £17.5k.
2 gen later the base of the new ST is almost doubled the price...
Love hearing The Prodigy in the background.
