That pond is just beautiful in every way and its only going to get better. I love seeing the fish explore all the nooks and crannies. Such beautiful colours too, cichlids are awesome.
Amazing ecosystem that you have created. Makes me very happy that you got thriving animals and plants. Are you putting in more plants? That will help with breaking down the nutrients.
Hands down my favorite fish! I had a cichlid tank for about 10 years. It broke my heart, but I gave the tank to a family member who was having some depression. But I knew he was a fish fanatic, and I hoped it would cheer him up. What can I say, family over fish. It's been years, but I'm saving up for another beautiful cichlid tank. They are amazing, intelligent little guys!
First of all, your pond is amazing! It's my dream to have such a beautiful pond of african cichlids! At 15:21, the blue fishes with yellow fins are Pseudotropheus Acei from Lake Malawi. It's so cool that you added some branches of wood because Pseudotropheus Acei are frequently found in sandy areas near fallen branches of wood and tree trunks in the wild. They graze algae on the wood. At 10:02 these are "Maingano" (not maingamo), now their scientific name is Melanochromis Cyaneorhabdos. And you're right, these fishes are called "Mbunas", which means "rockfish".
I would love to see you add some Frontosa to your pond. They are considered the gentle giants of the african cichlids and would get massive in your pond. Not to mention they are gorgeous!
Totally awesome..I had a headache so i sat down to watch this video. Headache is now gone. Its amazing that watching fish can relieve you stress!! Stay Blessed.
Your pronunciation of mbuna is spot on. In the shallow areas of your pond you might consider some of the shell dwelling Cichlids and scatter loads of shells around.
"Swimming with.."? Count me in. (: What a beautiful pond/environment it turns out to be and this is only the beginning as this pond matures. Those Cichlids are not only beautiful and interesting, but they´re also a vital element for this ecosystem. Keep it up up. 👍🏻😉
I came to see the pond but was just as impressed with all the plants...We had Elephant ear plants growing near the house when I lived in the Philippines, they were massive
I have to say that I'm getting more and more demanding with every single video that I watch....but this one in particular is absolutely special....thaks a lot for sharing ....well done....
I am so jealous of you and your pond right now.... I'm only kidding, I absolutely love the pond and I love the fish that you have inside of it also. You are a great inspiration to me and I really appreciate the way that you share your animals and pets with your fans. I only wish that I was able to have my own house, that way I could build my own one day and enjoy it. I am a very interested in the cichlids of all 3 lakes in Africa and have kept many of them, however, I tend to want more than I can handle and it then becomes a problem for me. Right now I don't have any tanks up and running, but I will in the next few weeks, I will post pictures of them once I've done that, until then.
Great video! As a cichlid guy myself, I love seeing people take interest in their behavior. Amazing parents and amazing life cycles throughout the family. I would suggest one KINDA big thing though. To truly experience the behavior of the small cichlids of the rift lakes, you need a predator. 2 or 3 emperor cichlids (preferably of the same sex) would keep populations in check and bring out the natural rock dwelling behavior of the smaller species.
You should add some type of shell dweller. Little piles or shells in a specific area of the pond. This is the craziest pond I have ever seen. Would love to see it in person.
Remember to keep your water lilies blooming all summer and fal, add root tab fertilizers once a month May through October 1st.. Place one tab a couple of inches below the soil in each pot.
Ok,you win most natural tropical pond on RUclips. Outstanding ..extremely natural rockwork . I wouldn't change much..maybe add more red Peacocks..the whole rainbow of them. A few Synodontis to keep the fry numbers down to manageable. Or, and, Haplochromis to thin the young herds. You must have some sort of winter heating? Big bill on that? Predator birds or Raccoons? I hate them! Maybe just for fun..you add a wave maker to dump 50 or 100 gallons and make a wave that spreads across the pond? Congrats!
Put a glass alongside the pond, dig a room on the other side. You'll be able to enjoy watching these beautiful fishes while sit on sofa and drink a cup of tea.
Please consider adding Victorian chiclids to your pond kenan! They come from the 3rd lesser known rift lake. They are zo beautiful and under appreciated! Also look into synodontis lucipinnis or Petracola, both are small species of catfish native to tanganyika. I work at a fish store down here in Portland Oregon that's famous for having one of the biggest supplies and varieties of African cichlids in the country. I'd love to see more rift species represented in your pond!
Amazing, I like the guppies in there also. Good thing for the other fish to eat and guppies also eat algae so they work as cleaners and food and they breed like crazy so they will always have good numbers.
Now I want some cichlids. But I already have three tanks in a 1 bedroom apartment, so it isn't going to happen. It's so peaceful watching your pond and seeing how things develop. I love seeing that there are already little babies and everything.
Oh my goodness! You´ve literally got the most amazing plants right in your backyard, It´s a dream come true! That strange vine is called Aristolochia gigantea and you were right with the Monstera deliciosa. Both will justify their Name very soon. Monstera deliciosa can really grow to enormous sizes, climbing trees and developing leaves up to six feet Long and beautiful Flowers.
Thank you Kenan, I had a horrible day today. Your video called me down and made me smile. Keep up the great work. I'm doing my best to conserve and educate up here in wi. Yes I remember the magic garden 👍
The pond to end all, my guy I am jealous. Only thing your missing is some synodontis catfish, bichir and maybe some larger haps to help balance out eco. Cichlids can reproduce very fast in a pond environment so it wouldn't hurt to have a few hunters and some cleaners.
This is so amazing it’s like you cut a piece of AfricaS lake & placed it in your yard. and cichlids are the best!!!!! Better than koi & Tropheus Duboisi are even cooler they have cute body’s and are super fast and they school ! I’m excited for the grass bed but i love how you have more rocks I think the rocks are cooler looking than plants!!!! wish I could swim in there 😍
Beautiful.. I know your blessed with that pond I hope one day im blessed to own one cuz that is so amazing to be able to swim in the morning with beautiful fish and a beautiful eco system
This is an amazing idea! When you're adding plants, I would suggest some anubias. It's native to Africa, tough enough that cichlids don't eat it, it can grow into massive clusters with roots that act like mangroves (fry nurseries), it can attach to rocks or logs, and it can grow up through the surface.
Your pond is amazing!!! I love all of the colorful fish. I have a fish called a frontosa which gets to be a pretty good sized fish. But I love seeing them all school up around the rocks and I think they would look great in your pond. Keep up the great videos and we love what you do!!
So dang amazing kenan. Life is THRIVING in and around your pond. Just beautiful. Love it! And it's just setup so cool all the different little area and habitats. I could watch and look at this stuff all day! Keep killing it!
You should have a live 24hr kamp kenan cichlid pond cam.
YES!
This would definitely help him hit over a million subscribers
Fresh water shrimp and craws will also clear the water. Beautiful pond, awesome therapy session.
The Aquascape Ecosystem in action!!!
It´s a truly beautiful and inspiring environment. Keep it up, guys. 😊👍🏻
Hope to get a pond from you guys one day, it snows where I live though!
I want one
That pond is just beautiful in every way and its only going to get better. I love seeing the fish explore all the nooks and crannies. Such beautiful colours too, cichlids are awesome.
For a guy that didn’t know much about fish or plants you totally nailed it. What a blast. I watched it a second time on mute. So calming
Amazing ecosystem that you have created. Makes me very happy that you got thriving animals and plants. Are you putting in more plants? That will help with breaking down the nutrients.
Absolutely insane brother, what a priviledge and honor it must be to live alongside these amazing creatures. As always, thanks for sharing!
I love your pond where you can swim with your fishes, very love it. Nice idea of the pond
What a awesome experience you get to have anytime you have the urge, way better than any swimming pool could ever be.
Oh man you have the best natural aquarium ever ! I can’t say enough about what watching you have done to my creative mind.
Awesome pond. This is the best life cichlids could have because for them it feels like they’re in the wild without predators
JOEY KING OF DIY needs to come visit you!!! Also super impressed with your plant knowledge!! Kudos!
I wanna see this once a week please its awesome love it
First of all, your pond is amazing! It's my dream to have such a beautiful pond of african cichlids!

man this is a really cool setup swimming with rift valley cichlids in your backyard just awesome
This pond is perfect for this cichlids. Love it. Maybe you want add some cyphotilapia frontosa 🤓
I would have liked to see the construction of the pond. The best I've seen ever
I love how everything are set up... Got a society of cichlids when I was a kid and watching you is like a paradise.
You live the life My friend...nice pond beautiful cichlids...
I love love your pond so much!
Pond is clearing up really well. Beautiful fish!
That is really cool all of those fish look happy and their colors are beautiful!
So Happy you have been able to enjoy the pond! Really clean up nicely! Love the selection of fish! Enjoyed being apart of the Build!! Great Time!!!
Thanks for your help!
Love the way you're showing us the cichlid pond step by step and taking us all the way with you! Keep it up!
This is one of the most bad ass things ever, cant wait until the population really booms its going to be beautiful
Took cichlid keeping to an entire new level! Very cool.
Wow. I’m jealous. That pond is AMAZING.
Go back to Florida Aquatic nurseries, get some large anubias barteri to plant on the rocks in different spots
Yes I agree
Would be neat but the African cichlids will most likely shred them.
@@justino1980 nah
Sounds good!
My blood pressure just dropped watching this video . How beautiful and peaceful ...👍🌻🐟
Wow pond is amazing, you knocked it outta the park on this one!
Your pronunciation of mbuna is spot on.
In the shallow areas of your pond you might consider some of the shell dwelling Cichlids and scatter loads of shells around.
Your pond is speechless.. No words to describe the beautiful habitat of fish.. Love it

Every look so nice under water amazing I love your land.

Love how clear it is.
I don’t care what it takes. I’m gonna get a pond just like this in my backyard. This is so awesome 👏
Amazing and such a healthy environment for cichlids. Wish I could have that kind of setup instead of an aquarium.
Fantastic video. So relaxing to watch. Thanks Kenan
Amazing, I like the guppies in there also. Good thing for the other fish to eat and guppies also eat algae so they work as cleaners and food and they breed like crazy so they will always have good numbers.
I cant wait to see all the grasses at the bottom of the pond. The fish will love it.
i love your pond.....so calm and amazing
Incredible!!!
I love seeing the progression of the pond and watching the Ecosystem become established!
The Cichlids are a great choice Kenan!
This is Amazing. It literally looks like the real lake Malawi. I Love the algae on the stones and that they interact with them.
The grass you're putting in is gonna make it look so much better!
congrats on making such a cool pond, it is like u have a "wild pond" u could say in your garden as if it is its own ecosystem
I love this video Kenan!! It was very peaceful just watching you swim with the beautiful fish.
Now I want some cichlids. But I already have three tanks in a 1 bedroom apartment, so it isn't going to happen. It's so peaceful watching your pond and seeing how things develop. I love seeing that there are already little babies and everything.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING FOOTAGE. I WISH I HAD A CICHLID POND IN MY OWN BACKYARD. WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEEN SOME ZAIRE FRONTOSAS IN THERE TOO!!
Frontosas are Tanganyikan, his current cichlids are malawis, it's not a good idea to mix
Oh my goodness! You´ve literally got the most amazing plants right in your backyard, It´s a dream come true!

Thanks! I live the plants also! It’s fun to learn about the different varieties! Love how it all comes together!
Thank you Kenan, I had a horrible day today. Your video called me down and made me smile. Keep up the great work. I'm doing my best to conserve and educate up here in wi. Yes I remember the magic garden 👍
