this is the best visualization you've done IMO. Having the track layout always present is a huge help to those trying to understand what course they are looking at straight away given you are presenting the visuals in angles not often seen.

Max‘s pole time last season was a 1:43.66 and this years pole time from Max a 46.1… The Ferrari would‘ve probably done a low 1:43 this year and Max probably a sub 43.

let's make a comparison between the cars...
    F1:
    ~ 1000hp
    - 789kg
    - hp per ton: 1250
    ~ 750kg downforce @ 100mph
    - Tyres: 305mm front, 405mm rear
    - Tyre Life: around 100km are usually around the maximum for the soft tyres used in comparison
    - cost per year: 140.000.000€
    Hypercar
    - 680hp (subject to BoP, but that's base power in the rules) - laptime here is with 692hp
    - 1030kg (subject to BoP, but that's the lowest weight in the rules) - laptime shown with 1040kg
    - hp per ton: 660 (laptime shown: 665)
    - 4:1 downforce to drag ratio
    ~ 650kg downforce @ 100mph (calculated weight)
    - Tyres: 300mm front, 310mm rear
    - Tyre Life: average stint would be around 170km, but tyres can hold over double and triple stints.
    - No tyre warmers
    - cost per year: 10.000.000€
    conclusion:
F1 has almost double the hp per ton far better tyres, way more downforce and costs around 14 times as much.
    Nothing surprising to see here
And now that I have your attention: I can only suggest for everyone watching here to go ahead and watch a WEC race. The races are uploaded in full for free on the FIA WEC RUclips channel a couple of weeks later, so even if you are unable to watch it live (due to it either not being broadcasted in your area or you're not willing to pay the 30$ WEC broadcast) you can catch up on them there.

LMP1 is much faster than Hypercar Class! LMP1 have higher horse power and lower weight at only 930 to 985 KG correct me if I am mistaken. FIA WEC limited the horse power of Hypercar to 700 to 670 HP only. They also made it heavier at 1030 KG.The Hypercar can match this Formula 1 race car if it has 1,000 plus HP and lighter than 1,000 KG. The Formula 1 here have more than 1,000 HP and it is like only under 800 KG in weight. The result is not surprising to me. In the past the Porsche 919 Evo unrestricted ran faster than the Formula 1 of Red Bull and Mercedes-Benz. Toyota's LMP1 at the time can also match a Formula 1 IF UNRESTRICTED. I was a bit disappointed to Le Mans Hypercar because I thought they will bring back supercars and hypercars on the road to be used as race cars in the racing circuit but it all cars was purpose built race cars that never resembled any road car hypercar or supercar. I do hope next years Hypercar will look more like road cars modified for the racing circuit to become race cars! Hypercars, LMP1 & LMP2 body the design, I want the shark fins to go away or to be remove because it makes the race car look more ugly!

For sure, F1 cars are going to slow down. They will still be faster than hypercar class, but would they still be much faster than the LMP1 hybrid golden era?

Straight line speeds are influenced by many factors. Remember it’s not a drag race where both cars are starting out at the same speed. A straight is generally preceded by a corner. The car that can corner at higher speed will exit a corner at a higher speed, allowing it to begin the straight at a higher speed. F1 has more power as well. The advantage a prototype has over and f1 can’t be appreciated because of addl weight, less power and aero constraints of prototypes these days, that advantage is superior downforce to drag ratio.

So. There is a fundamental problem with the SF23 comparison. The assumption is that it won’t blow up, due for engineering incompetence. It won’t spin off due to driver incompetence . And that it will be on track in time due to team management incompetence.

Now compare with it the Toyota TS050 Hybrid 2017 or Porsche 919 Hybrid 2017
Even while lifting and coasting every corner they both managed to do a 1:53.
They probably would run 1:50 or 1:49 without lift and coast.
And without battery, fuel and aero package restriction (like the 919 evo), they would be as fast as the W11 depending on the driver skill and the amount of preparation/practice.
For example Neel Jani in a 919 evo was faster than Bottas (Q3) in a W11 but slower than Hamilton (level of preparation Q3). So the driver skill is very important to give us the full potential of the car but also the amount of training and preparation.

@@jaiganticpooey3012 Yeah I know but FIA LMP1 are way more restricred than F1 cars
Even the 919 evo is still restricted in some kind of way. It is just unrestricted in comparaison to the LMP1 regulations not absolutely unrestricted, or the car would be way faster than an F1 to the point that it would be undrivable. Same issue would go with an absolutely unrestricted F1 car.
