- In this video, i did the waterproof test for Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus(2018). including shower test and immersion test. This time I will put this IP68 certified waterproof cellphone into a 1.5 meters water tube and keep it for 30 minutes. It should be okay, except some bugs appeared after water test.

As an audio technician i can honestly say that the speaker on the a8 sounds waterproof as well.
As I went to sit down on the toilet, that phone was in my back pocket and It fell into the toilet. Still works fine! Best phone I ever had. Beautiful design.

Works fine after all the water dries out there is no possible way that water will damage the speaker

Elizabeth Sunday you should be cleared Samsung advertise it as water resistant you say whats the difference well water proffimg and water resistance are the same things the difference is in case of resistance the company doesn't own water damage problems

The phone will lose waterproof when disassembled means even if a Samsung technician disassembles it

Mines got it's back cover smashed when it dropped from my pocket onto the concrete.. went to authorized samsung dealer and had my back cover replaced and "jigged" the same way original samsung phone comes and you it works just fine.. speaker works everything works as it's supposed to be
You used 2 phones i assume 1st one had been damaged in water test as the 2'nd phone is having sticker on the back and 1st one isn't?

Yes, it could say that all waterproof phones can not remain this feature after repaired yet.

i dropped my A8 star in the pool, at first it was fine. turned it off and now it wont start, i tried force restarting it and all it does is vibrate and show 1 streak of light in the middle of the screen.
The A8 Star (A9 Star) is not the A8, the A8 has the IP rating, whilst the A8 Star (A8 Star) does not.
The charger thing is not a prob. Just keep it in some type of dry towel or dry it with a hair dryer its not a prb at all.
I do that in my a7 2017 and its perfectly fine.the speaker is fine... but it doesnt work with sea water.

right now I just changed the motherboard to my samsung galaxy a8 plus, the repair was made in a samsung service center here in Mexico, they told me that my device was IP68 certified. Do you think that I should trust them? What do you think? If samsung mexico tells me that it repaired it and still keeps the IP68 certification, could I do some test with the confidence that this is true? guys, that doubt is killing me!
If you repaired your phone in Official Samsung Center and they said so, then of course it is still water resistance. Why would they lie to you?

I got the 0hone and I took an image in the pool and it works fine water get in the speaker I waited some minutes and it got back to normal and the USB was detected and it dried out but the phone works fine but I tell u KEEL IN MIND U SHOULD NOT TAKE THE PHONE WITH U IN WATER

Dont wash it or submerge it even with a tiny crack its gonna fill with water and damage the inside i know this because i had a small crack in my s8 and washed it and it started dying now im using an a8+ and im scared as fk to wash this thing
Water can penetrate through broken glass if the glass is not broken the phone will not leak.
