I stopped watercolor painting several years ago and now am finding I forgot almost everything. I so appreciate the thoroughness of your videos, and the pace. They are very helpful in getting me back in the saddle.

The beauty of simplicity. I’m totally drawn to the colors and the shadows in the water. Just brilliant. Thanks for this one.

A nice contrast between snow & tertiary colour...the water seems to be gently flowing with the strokes of blue

This is stunning. I appreciate the fact that you ALWAYS state the colours you're using. I know we shouldn't obsess about artists' choices but it's all experience and it teaches about colour combinations and different warm and cool colours. Thank you so much Rick.

Wow Rick this was the most helpful video I have ever watched. I live in country side exactly like this. Walk along a river every day and I have worked and worked at painting its many moods but never happy. I learned so so so much from this one. Not only that, your voice is so gentle and soothing. Thank you as ever for your generosity.!

Can't thank you enough for your expertise and your generosity in sharing it. I'm still working hard on being able to attain a loose style of watercolor painting and your videos are super helpful! Thank you so much!

Beautiful painting! Love watching the process and to hear your thoughts. However, the frequent ads are very distracting. Is it possible to have them all at the beginning, or at the end?

    • @RickSurowiczWatercolor

I Kathryn, I've had ads in the middle of my videos turned off, however, a few recent ones were enabled. I've changed those to prevent that now.

Lovely! Does anyone else have the problem of their Atelier fine mist sprayer being too strong? I try to mist at an angle and pull the bottle away, but the initial blast is so strong, it typically blasts all the pigment away.

Hi Carol, Often when I use this, I start low, then pull away and up at the same time. I also don't normally depress the button all the way down, just a touch.

    Another great demo/tutorial!
I just will ask again. Watching your palette in sync with your painting would be a real treat. It would be enormously helpful for us, your students, to see how you prepare your mixes, how you prepare some pools of paint in advance and some others "just-in-time" All this "time dynamics" of handling your palette is extremely interesting. Thank you.
P.S. Here is a example of how Laurel Hart does it: ruclips.net/video/QCWgghlQu_Y/видео.html Maybe this is too many things to show one one screen but her big palette similar to yours is visible all the time and this is very helpful.

Hi Ted, I appreciate your feedback! I do get much more involved with what you're suggesting in my online courses. With that format I have the opportunity to get much more in depth.
