Everyone should watch this great watercolor tutorial. Every brushstroke was explained so well from beginning to end. It's a plus your videos are not 12 minutes rush jobs, as well. Liked, shared and you've gained another subscriber, Rick.....awesome work!
Thanks Mary! I'm glad you enjoyed this!
Excellent tip for evergreens trees. By painting first in a light wash and then doing the main color on top you do get nice hard and soft edges. I just tried it and it's a big help. Thank you , I need all the help I can get.
Thanks for sharing your comments on this!
Thank you Rick, I'm halfway through painting along and enjoying it. So far, so good- (going too well in fact). I find I learn something every time. Looking forward to starting work on Mountain River.
That's great Barbara!
@@RickSurowiczWatercolor Finished it! Really pleased, but now I must learn to rely on myself and my own interpretation of my subjects. Time will tell.
You've been such a help. 😊

It's really good ~♡
Thank you!
This is so wonderful - thanks for sharing your techniques. I suffer from SAD and find grey skies very gloomy. If I wanted to change this into a clear bright sky and sunshine, do you have any tips for changing the colours? Particularly on the snow and water. Thanks very much. :)
You could use a light value warm mixture of something like gamboge and Quinacridone coral to paint a light warm sky and reflect it into the water.
I really like this Rick and learned a lot from your tutorial
Thanks for the inspiration re you Patreon?
I'm glad you enjoyed this Catherine! I am not on Patreon. Thank you for asking!
Why do you start the midground trees with a violet color? It obviously works, but what is your thought that started you doing this? Thanks. I look forward to your response.
Hi Beth, I try to look for where I think the lightest softest shapes will be and plan my painting sequence accordingly. By painting the light violet first, I'm able to tone and wet the paper which will allow me to create some softness in the tree when I add the green, Some of the light violet I keep.
