    This car has probably outlasted many BMW’s, Audi’s, VW’s, Mercedes, Ford’s, Renault’s, Peugeot’s, Citroën’s, Range Rover’s and more, including people 😂 Goes to show you Toyota reliability. It’s the reason why they’re number 1 globally in sales.

      I can confirm.
      Mine is from 2001, still working today; never an issue, never replaced a part (if we exclude oil, filter, brakes, bulbs, etc...).

      @@R1DER420 Are you kidding? 0-100 takes 13.6 secs for the 1.0 l model, which at the time was not bad at all compared to other cars of this category. Plus I said decent, not the best or extraordinary.

      @@R1DER420 Research the 0-60 mph figures of a VW Polo or Vauxhall/Opel Corsa of this year with equivalent 1000cc engine! The reality is that the Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVTi was a good performer and very competitive at the time, and of course reliability was waaaay superior.

    U may like design or not, but this is a quality car, maybe the best in its class. Even now still keeping good price. Was driving it for a few years at work.

    in my opinion it is the best car to start driving with
    it maneuvers good and it is small so its easy to park and easy to drive in narrow streets

    Im running a 2004 1.4 diesel with a remap ,decat, manual boost controller, lowering springs, t sport side skirts ,t sport rear bumper(facelift) and a mk2 yaris rear wing. Good fuel economy and it pulls good. Getting a thumbs up occasionally from randoms.

    Great little starter car, and these early 2000's Yaris's are really cheap to buy in the UK.

      cars over 20years fails MOT almost every single year, you better off buying 2015 Skoda Fabia for 4k. You pay more for the car but it is very reliable.

      @@waduhek2568 I don't know many average students/ young people in the UK with 4k on hand to straight up buy a car. Meanwhile early 2000's plated cars can be bought in good condition for £700 - £1500 which is more realistic.

      @@waduhek2568 Obviously you'd check the service history before you buy it also UK used car standards are generally really good for mileage on cars, if the mileage is genuinely high its dirt cheap. I bought a pre owned Toyota 08 with 90k miles, great condition and full service history, used it for 3-4 years treated it well literally ran amazingly. Also I don't think Skoda is on anyone's top tier list to buy. If people wanted a fairly new 2010's plated car you would get a peugeot 208, Clio, Ford Fiesta, or Focus 2014/2015 plate for 2.5k which are much better for value.

    This Yaris is a 2003 restyling version with new bumpers, new lights and new wheel covers. The 1999/2003 is different.

    Dzięki za film. Mam takiego, tylko 5d, z trochę biedniejszym wyposażeniem. Dwa protipy od użytkownika Yarisa: gdy klikniesz przycisk mode (prawy gumowy przycisk pod prędkościomierzem) po włączeniu świateł, prędkościomierz wróci do normalnej jasności. Yaris mk1 ma komputer pokładowy i żeby sprawdzić średnie spalanie bieżące, z całej trasy, średnią prędkość i zasięg wystarczy kliknąć przycisk Trip w prawym dolnym rogu koło ekranu radia. Fajny egzemplarz, szkoda, że sprzęgło umarło. Więcej takich samochodów proszę ;)

    Samochód nie do zdarcia.. Żeby go zniszczyć trzeba chcieć i w zasadzie chyba tylko poprzez wysadzenie go w powietrze. Jeździłem takim (z rocznika 2003 - nie wiele różnic, też 1.0, 16V..) przez 9 lat od czasu kiedy zdałem prawko, kupiliśmy ją z przebiegiem 103 tysięcy kilometrów w 2011 roku teraz ma 236 tysięcy i jest w rękach siostry na pewnie kolejne tyle lat, jedyne nasze wizyty z nią w warsztacie to wymiana opon i oleju, dwa razy miała wymieniane klocki i tarcze. Jestem Yariski tak pewny, że nawet teraz po prostu wsiadam i jadę ze Śląska do Gdańska i z powrotem na strzała i ten samochód to po prostu zrobi z przerwami na tankowanie. Jestem ciekawy czy jej nowsze wersje są też takie pancerne. :)

      @@workaccount2415 I mean just having to replace parts each and every year. I just got tired of spending 500€ a year to essentially slowly but surely replace the whole car. Replacing brakes, headlights (not the lights itself, the plastic covering them), the exhaust, the idk what's it called in English, the metal plate over the exhaust for heat protection. Just like... a bunch of things.

    Ach Yariska... tutaj widzę nieco bardziej dopakowana niż moja, z radiem. No i polift, ja mam przedlifta rocznik 1999 - niemal początek produkcji. Niestety poważnie rdzewieje, także pewnie to jej ostatnie lata.
    Takie pytanie - moja ma taką cechę, że jak jest zapięty bieg to nie kręci rozrusznikiem, nawet jak mam naciśnięte sprzęgło. Ta też tak ma?

    świetne to jest auto, trochę głośne, brakuje trochę elektrycznego otwierania/zamykania okien i centralnego zamka, ale i tak je kocham (moje pierwsze auto po dziadku), jak dla początkującego kierowcy jest idealne moim zdaniem

      They came with either a 5 speed Manual or 4 speed Automatic.

      Same! Constant revving in gear. The clutch is either dying, or he's badly riding it and causing it to slip. Couldn't watch it til the end - the constant over-revving was too irritating!

    How do you know that the street is a two hands street? In Brasil two hands streets have yellow lines. One hand street has white lines.

    What's going on with all the "in-gear" revving here? Was the clutch slipping, or were you just struggling with controlling the clutch? Lot's of revving in gear.

    i don't know for everyone, but i feel, even though this car is manual, that is it is like a cvt gearbox. Maybe Joe black is missing these types of gb

    I was expecting to hear 3 cylinder sound. Didn't know that this version of Yaris had a 4 cylinder, thanks for the info. 3 cyl. sound way better I think and 3 doors looks nice.

      4 cyl 16v is so much better than the 3 cyl, sound and reliability

      That's right, these Yaris mark 1 cars had the 1.0 4cylinder engine - really noisy and thrashy. The 1.0 3cyl engine in the Yaris II is far better; sounds sporty and the gearbox is far more flexible (taller gearing).

      @@demoknight4822 i searched all around the country and it was the best price for the mileage available. Also we had a used car shortage at the time. It works great and I’ve had no problems.

    Doesn't it bother you that the display that shows your speed is above the radio instead of the steeringwheel?

      Imho i kind of prefer it now after a few months of owning my 2001 Yaris TSport.
      Its never blocked by my hands or the wheel. Also its clear to see in the sun, whereas traditional speedometer location can be a bit dark when in bright sun.
      On the downside, its really small, and theres no temprature gauge, just a little lights that turns off when oil reaches operating temperature (2-3minutes after start usually)
      Also your significant other now has full sight on your speed and might get mad at you for going over the limit.
