I was there with you when that person on the scooter tried to grab people´s bags. I didn´t see it but you guys told me about it. I did see your wife talk to the police about it and they immediately took it serious and drove on gran via looking for the theif. And how cool does it feel to say "wife" ;)
I am a foreigner, and a woman and live in Barcelona and I find it 1,000x more safer than London ever was. I walk around Barcelona without an issue and so do my female friends here (young, blonde, pretty). Whereas in London I feared for my life a few times and my safety nearly every single day. I was mugged 3x, grabbed, followed, stalked, threatened, almost dragged in to a car and my male partner was jumped in an alleyway. London is HORRIFIC. And it’s always British people complaining that Spain is dangerous (cus they’re racists) when the UK is the most dangerous place I’ve EVER lived. In saying that in Barcelona, I have my phone on a rope attached to my arm and a theft proof backpack and on the metro I always put my bag between my feet with one of the straps around my leg and I dress relatively like Spaniards (even with my white skin and blonde hair, haha!)
I'm so ashamed of my country. We used to be one of the safest in Europe a couple decades ago. Nowadays I tell everyone not to visit Barcelona, especially women. There are many smaller, safer and cooler cities to visit. Just in case, it's legal to carry most short knives and pepper spray.
would you say that the crimes are related to more migrants in BC or it's not really related? just curious since that's the case in some cities in the US for sure
@@englishwithishmael8371the only crime I have seen with my own eyes in Spain was in Valencia and it was a group of pick pockets targeting foreigners coming off cruise ships
I hold my bag that way too.

Good one Johnny
Thanks for watching Brett!!
when you got mugged in bc, where exactly did you have your phone? like in your front /back pocket or somewhere else? just curious
It was in the side pocket of a pair of basketball shorts. Very loose fitting and an easy target :/ thanks for watching!

Barcelona is an amazing city. I love it here and find it safe compared to England.
