Guess I'm old because it isn't history to me. I had some friends that formed a very good rock band. They would promote their own shows, they hired the Runaways to open for them two times. Being I had a truck I would help them haul, setup, do the sound check and break down. I would be there 5-6 hours for a 3-hour show. So, I hung out with the Runaways, cool girls they were all teens at the time and were pretty good, Joan & Lita obviously improved with time. Shortly after opening for my friend's band, they signed with a label and got pretty big. especially in Japan.

Fun fact, this song was just a random jamming session. Ozzy was at Lita's house, and she had her own studio. Ozzy had a melody in his head and Lita wrote the music. They finished the song while drinking all night. Ozzy told Lita that she can have the song and do whatever she wanted with it. Next thing you know, it became a big hit.

Just found this. Lita has been rocking for a long time: The Runaways '75-79, solo '82-95, 2008 return to the stage and at 66yo still going strong. She singed with RCA and Sharon Osbourne Mangement, that was the Ozzy connection, they were friends. The duet came one night Lita and Ozzy were shooting pool in her basement and started jamming in her home studio and they had a hit by morning. I fell in love with her from Love Bites video.

I have vague memories of listening to this song on a jukebox at a Pizza Hut in the 80's... back when people went inside and sat down to eat pizza. Loved the song, wasn't that familiar with either artist at the time.
Ozzy Osbourne had a lot of 80's solo hits, but you may want to go back to the start of his career, with Black Sabbath around 1970.
And I see the Device cover of this song has been mentioned, from 2013. David Draiman and Lzzy Hale, with a more industrial sound.

I've always been a huge fan of Lita Ford. I think a good way to try and summarize her voice is saying that she is like a hard rock/metal version of Stevie Nicks.
Like I've seen a couple of other posters say, Lita was definitely a crush for me growing up as a teenage boy in the mid to late '80s. I remember a bunch of people being in love with the pop star Samantha Fox around the same time, but when I saw Lita Ford... It was like Samantha who? As talented as she is beautiful, Lita Ford is an amazing artist. Hope to see you check out a few more things by her (and Ozzy too of course!).

Sharon (Ozzy's wife) talked about this song. Ozzy went into dark spaces with his addiction after the death of Randy. He hadn't done anything..and Sharon thought he was gonna die. Lita showed up...she was working on a project with Sharon...and they started partying and Lita just started playing...as musicians do. Sharon went to bed. And she woke up to this song in the morning.

This song literally saved my life. The first time I heard it I was in the process of ending it all.

We were spoiled back in the day for sure! "Kiss Me Deadly" by Lita is a great one. "Mr. Crowley" by Ozzy with Randy Rhodes on guitar is EPIC and a cover of this song by David Draiman (of Disturbed but this cover was done on a side project of David's that he called 'Device') and Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) gives this song justice.

Great reaction, as always, Rachel. Happy Anniversary!
P.S. King Diamond when? Most people these days get introduced to King Diamond via the live version of the song Sleepless Nights, which is a perfectly fine song to react to.

Very possibly still the greatest duet in metal of all time. I feel like it’s a totally classic tune, and that they teamed up and got it solid and strong. People have pointed out how soulful Lita’s singing is, and with playing an instrument she’s a double threat. While Ozzy possesses one of the most unique voices in the metal world.

Ahhhh... The Prince of Darkness singing about, You say you love me, but would you die for me? Then close your eyes for me. This duet and song kind of resurrected his career.

lol I'm 58 now but back in the day myself and all my Navy and Marine buddies had a huge crush on Lita Ford. This was a massive hit back in the 80's, try "Kiss me Deadly" for Lita Ford and "Crazy Train for Ozzy you can't go wrong with those 2 songs.

This song was so sick when it released. No one expcted it to be so good. You gotta crank it up concert loud to really experience it right.

I haven't heard this song in a very long time. Lita is 30 and Ozzy is 40 in this video.

I took that back. It was late high school because I graduated in 1989 and the song was recorded in 1988.

Ozzy Osbourne was the lead singer for a group referred to as Black Sabbath. You might want to check them out because they are some hard-core rock ‘n’ roll.
