This song was played at my friends funeral in 1991,she was only 13 and died in a car accident. This song was requested by her if she ever died, powerful stuff. I just turned 44 years old and this song is cemented in my head for life. Great stuff my man💪
Lita is the first Lady of hard rock. She was in a band with Joan Jett called the Runaways in the 70s when they were both teenagers. You should check out more from her. She's bad ass
Lita is one of THE pioneers of women in hard rock, starting out in the Runaways with Joan Jett in her teens. She is still performing. Lzzy Hale of Halestorm counts her as a major influence.
Someone has already mentioned it; "Runaways". Lita Ford was really big in the 80's and 90's. I have all her albums. She's just a damn good performer and she writes almost of her own lyrics and music. Love smart, independent women that won't take sh*t from no one. As for Heart, they are sisters. Ann and Nancy Wilson. Another great band to listen to.
unfortunately it's too bad some of the men treated her like crap Through The Years. cuz she's a wonderful woman you can read about that in her history she had a little bit of a negative part of her life that she's at least come back from.
Just being in The Runaways with Joan Jett. That's the first thing you here. Joan Jett! It must have been hard as Hell to get from that shadow. It's why I love her music so much. She said fuck it and ran with it; much to our amusement. Lita is amazing!
I love lita ford, she was so hot to me as a teenaged boy, even today she is beautiful in her 60's. I think think every guy that lived in the 80's and had mtv had 3 big crushes lita ford, Samantha fox and Tawny Kitain.
Wow! No joke, I thought I was the only one! I do have to say I had a 4th which every guy around me agreed on ... Kim Wilde (in her Chequered Love/Kids in America days). Kim had that dangerous cute/stunningly hot style and could mesmerize with those eyes.
I know people here have already mentioned that Lita Ford and Joan Jett were in The Runaways together but what I haven't seen mentioned yet is that Micki Steele, who was in The Runaways with them, was also a member of The Bangles (who I noticed you're reacting to today as well). Also, if memory serves me, Sharon Osbourne was managing Lita at this time which is what made this truly legendary performance possible. There are a few Lita songs that were decent sized hits for her and one of them actually inspired me to create this user name decades ago. The song was called Dancin' on the Edge. It was the title track on her 2nd solo album. Other songs that are too good to miss are Gotta Let Go, (One Shot of) Poison, Kiss Me Deadly, Black Widow, Lisa, Larger than Life and Hungry. Some other amazing ladies from that era that you don't hear a lot about today were Doro Pesch (lead vocalist of Warlock, who also had an amazing solo career), Sandy Saraya (lead singer of the band Saraya), Lee Aaron and the band Girlschool. They were some of the best hard rock/heavy metal had to offer in the 80s-90s (next to the usual suspects).
Now you get swamped with requests for Lita's "Kiss Me Deadly" That tune has appeared in TV and film a lot, most recently in "Captain Marvel". And yeah, I love women!
I have loved Lita Ford from the start. This song with Ozzy demonstrates her ability but also highlights Ozzy's unique voice. Definitely one of my favorites from back in the day ...❤️
I'm sitting here watching Ozzy's current tv show "The Osbournes Want To Know" when this notification popped up. Also watched a documentary about him the other day. Ozzy's a little frail these days but oh, man..what a wild roller coaster of a life he's led. Would love to see you do "No More Tears". I think it's one of his best. 💙
@robrcx Actually, I didn't know all that. I knew about the ATV accident & they discussed it in the documentary I watched. They also said they think he has a form of Parkinson's but then said it might be some sort of neurological damage from years ago & how he's abused his body over the years. I didn't know about the fall or that he's planning to tour again. I hope that happens because I've heard him say he's happiest when he's onstage. I was afraid it's now a thing of the past. Hopefully not. It's funny, in my teens & 20's I was always going to concerts. Saw everyone from Hendrix to Zeppelin (3 times) but somehow missed out on Ozzy, whether with Black Sabbath or solo. Wish I'd seen him back in the day. I always felt a little sorry for Ozzy. Not sure why. Famous, successful, talented, rich Rock Star who also has a family that loves him. All good things. But it always seemed to me there's a tenderhearted little boy inside (despite all the drugs, booze & doing some awfully crazy things). Watching the documentary made me realize I just might be right about him. He's carried a lot of sadness around all his life. If you're interested in trying to catch the documentary I saw, it was on the "Biography" series on A&E. Anyway, I hope for the best for him. And thank you for the info & friendly reply. I appreciate it. You filled in some blanks.💙🌿
LITA rocks!! She’s had several solo albums and has toured extensively. Idk why she didn’t get as much AirPlay as Joan Jett. Most of Joan’s hits are covers. LITA wrote most of her music herself. She’s still a heavy metal GODDESS as far as I’m concerned, personal problems aside.
Heard Runaways in 1975 on WDVE Pittsburgh rocks on the midnight album hour where they would debut albums often of unknown bands . I was 18, same age as Lita at that time. I found their little garage band from California seductive and collected every album the did. Lita was a stand out then with a slow dirty blues riff called Johnny Guitar. knew she'd be big one day. Her solo stuff is great. This duet is even better. Still smokin hot today... like fine wine she just gets better.
CLOSE MY EYES FOREVER was a duet between Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne that was co-written between Lita and Ozzy. Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne was Lita Ford's manager around the time of her third album. She also had a song on that album she co-wrote with Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead called CAN'T CATCH ME. Lita Ford was dating Nikki Sixx (bass player and main songwriter for Motley Crue) around the time she was recording her third album Lita. He co-wrote a song on that album with her called FALLING IN AND OUT OF LOVE and Motley Crue did a tour with Ozzy Osbourne around the same time she was working on her third album. CLOSE MY EYES FOREVER was the last song on Lita's third album.
Great choice Lita The Rock Goddess of Heavy Metal. If you have not listen to the Runaways this was the all-girl band back in the 70s that Joan Jett and Cherry and Lita had formed with the help of their producer. There one hit was Cherry Bomb. Joan Jett went on to form Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Lita Ford formed her solo band.
Lita Ford started out in the 70's all female rock band The Runaways. Here are some other songs by Lita Ford to check out Kiss Me Deadly, Shot Of Poison, & Lisa that song she wrote bout her mom that passed away from cancer
The backstory on that song is very interesting. Stevie wrote that for Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter and they agreed that no one would record it except for Waylon and Jessi or Stevie and Don. Not exactly four people you would have put together but with musicians they just look at each other as musicians, not rock singers or country singers or whatever, they just appreciate each other's talent. Waylon, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac are definitely in my top 10 and always have been. Awesome musicians!! They were the best.
@@christopherhuff3123 No he didn't. The story as Lita tells it, Sharon was Lita's manager. Ozzy and Sharon were over Lita's house that she had just bought. As a house warming gift Sharon gave Lita a life size stuffed version of Koko the sign language guerilla. Eventually Ozzy and Lita made it into a small studio in the house and wrote the song.
Lita was/is a Rock Goddess then and now .. she looks awesome to be over 60. Fun fact... those ripped jeans she bought off a lineman she passed on the side of the road.
Being a teen in the 80's was incredible for guys. I don't know why girls spent so much time on big hair but they never looked sexier than with that style.
This song right here, you close your eyes and feel it, it grabs your soul, and puts you back to the time you had no other choice but to walk away from the love of your life this song still gives me a lump in my throat, will you ever trust me? no, I just don't feel the same, wow, just wow.
OMG! You went there. As a hard rocker, this was an amazing rick duet!!! She was awesome. I saw her a couple years ago with Halestorm on the Gulf Coast.
Once again but late to the show, Lita Ford is probably the greatest rock goddess of all time, Beautiful raspy voice that has a lot of emotion behind It. Lita and Stevie Nicks the greatest ever, not one soul can match the magic that these two ladies have ever done!!
I haven't heard this since the 80s. Good song, Ozzy & Lita's voices mesh well together. Lita Ford I believe quit putting out music years ago saying "She wouldn't put out music till rock & roll was back, rock was dead"

When I was a kid I grew up listening to these women/women in these bands: Heart, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Concrete Blonde, and Roxette. Please check out Concrete Blonde: Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) (full version) (my favourite), The Darkening of the Light, Joey (that one is my mom's favourite but always makes me cry because it reminds me of my parents when they went through a rough patch, but I still love it), Dance Along The Edge, Someday?, Heal It Up, Walking in London, there's more. Belinda Carlisle: Circle in the Sand (my fav) but Heaven is A Place on Earth most famous. And Roxette: The Look, How Do You Do!
Lita was the Queen of Metal in the 80's and 90's along with Doro Pesch (Warlock and Doro). Then Grunge came along , and she went on hiatus for a over a decade. She is back and on tour. Lzzy and Lita have a couple of videos together doing "Close My Eyes Forever" and "Cherry Bomb" They are a must see.
One of the reasons why Ozzy Osbourne recorded this song with Lita Ford was because Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne was Lita Ford's manager at the time And when you mentioned that you might not be familiar with Lita, she was one of the members of an all-female group called "The Runaways" which also had Joan Jett as a member
Bruh....BRUH.... BU-RAH!!! There is a great cover of this song with David Draiman and Lzzy Hale with David's other band, Device. ALSO.....There are several videos of Lzzy Hale singing it (doing Ozzy's part) with Lita herself! So Lzzy has sung both sides of this song with two different amazing artists. This is clearly a sign that you need to revisit Lzzy hale and/or Halestorm. The Rock Gods have SPOKEN!
Ahhh, the lovely Miss Lita Ford. Very talented artist right there. I met her once back in the mid nineties, she was super cool and sweet. Answered all of our dorky fanboy questions with a smile and sincerity. She had nothing but good stuff to say about Ozzy. She told us a couple of great Ozzy stories. Check out Gotta Let Go and Dancing on the Edge by Lita as well as "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways.
This song kills me! I love it! Caught my boyfriend cheating and the line where it says will you ever trust me, No I'll never feel the same! It brings chills to me now after 30 years!
Me too! My wife cheated on me when we were just 18 and this song was really popular at the time it happened. So i’ll never forget it. Just like Ozzy said in the song, “i just can’t take the pain” and “no i’ll never be the same”. This song still rips my heart out till this very day!
This was the wedding song for my first marriage. People were confused but I didnt care. I still own a 'not for resale' 45rpm disc, made for radio stations. It will be buried with me.
The funny thing about those jeans. Back in the 80s we took a razor to get the tears to appear over time. Now you're just buying expensive pants with holes.
Yes, she is still lovely, smart and talented. Got to see her at a special "Evening with Lita Ford" show in April 2018. My desktop background is our photo from the post-show meet and greet.
David Theisen Do you have to be an ass about it? I don’t see Run Around Sue, I see another Dion song. But I will look again. But if I did overlook it, could you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?

ALSO.....There are several videos of Lzzy Hale singing it (doing Ozzy's part) with Lita herself!
So Lzzy has sung both sides of this song with two different amazing artists. This is clearly a sign that you need to revisit Lzzy hale and/or Halestorm.
The Rock Gods have SPOKEN!
Beat me to it! Love the original but David and Lizzy freaking kill it.
@@markjenkins3369 Have you heard/Seen the one with Lzzy and Lita?
Ahhh, the lovely Miss Lita Ford. Very talented artist right there. I met her once back in the mid nineties, she was super cool and sweet. Answered all of our dorky fanboy questions with a smile and sincerity. She had nothing but good stuff to say about Ozzy. She told us a couple of great Ozzy stories.
Check out Gotta Let Go and Dancing on the Edge by Lita as well as "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways.
Bro, you need to check out her song "Kiss Me Deadly". You will not be disappointed
Lita Ford could legitimately rock! She still does and is still gorgeous.
I forgot about this one....loved it when it came out
This was the wedding song for my first marriage. People were confused but I didnt care. I still own a 'not for resale' 45rpm disc, made for radio stations. It will be buried with me.
Lita Ford can SHRED. Always enjoyed her music.
Jamel! 🙌 *"Gypsy" Fleetwood Mac* 🔥💯
My Girl Lita🤟🤟🤟 Such a BadAss. One of the BEST DUETS❤ I Miss the 80's
If you like this version, you need to heck out the one done by Device, it takes it so an truly epic level.
Every metalhead in the 80's was in love with Lita! Check out more of her solo stuff!!
Great song and video :)
I listened to this song over and over and over back in the day. Love it!
Have you heard "I'm a dreamer" by Ozzy Osbourne? If you haven't you should.
Beautiful song
I think it's called Dreamer, but either way a good song.
It is called Dreamer. Almost like Ozzy's version of John Lennon's Imagine. Which makes sense seeing as John was one of Ozzy's idols growing up.
@Matthew Drake that's true. Sorry, my bad, but yes, it's such a beautiful song.
DAmmit.."back in the day" Rock....It's awesome to be hearing these songs again, and it still surprises me how good Ozzy's voice was :)
Now try some Lee Aaron. Metal Queen of Canada!
and Doro Pesch of Warlock!
Oh God, yes on both!!
Kiss Me Deadly. Lita's biggest hit! Great song....SMOKIN video!!!
The funny thing about those jeans. Back in the 80s we took a razor to get the tears to appear over time. Now you're just buying expensive pants with holes.
Absolutely love Ozzy’s voice
Me too!
Feels like Scorpions: winds of change (about three fall of communism in the 80s) needs to find your radar
Yes! Winds of Change is an amazing song!
Yes, she is still lovely, smart and talented. Got to see her at a special "Evening with Lita Ford" show in April 2018. My desktop background is our photo from the post-show meet and greet.
'Stompin my foot' by the North Mississippi Allstars...you wont be sorry.
I danced with a girl in 1988 to this song . I was in the 8th grade and this song was on MTV all the time. Thanks for sharing.
If you do Lita, you've got to give Joan Jett some equal love.
Lita lita... she’s our ROCK GODDESS!! RESPECT!!! 😎👊🏼
*Dion - "Rounaround Sue"* Definitely Think It's A "Jamal Type" 😎🙌😂
Pete!! Thank you!! This was going to be my next campaign, to get Jamel to listen to Runaround Sue! So glad you’re on it. 🙏❤️
Hey Kara!! Yes that’s my next mission lol. I think he’d love it!! I’ll keep working on it! 😂. I hope you have a great day Kara!! 🙏❤️
BigPete S We can double up and annoy the hell out of him until he does it! 🤣 One of my all time favorites. Have a great day too, love! ❤️
He’s done that one! Go onto his page and SCROLL the hell down!!! LOL it’s there!
David Theisen Do you have to be an ass about it? I don’t see Run Around Sue, I see another Dion song. But I will look again. But if I did overlook it, could you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?
Those beautiful guitars you are hearing is all Lita. She was one of the first bad ass guitar chicks that paved the way for others to follow.
I heard the story of how this song was born is true
Lita Ford! Wow, serious 80s nostalgia here. Their voices go together so well.
