I agree I have been tagging him in my videos as well and telling people to go to his channel but my reach only goes to 250 lol but you never know maybe some people in Germany will start watching his content as well
It's a joy to watch your son working with you. He seems to be genuinely interested in working on cars, and he absolutely loves his dad... that's obvious. Congratulations... you're doing more right than you think you are.
I just want to personally thank you for indirectly helping me fix my car, lol. I picked up a 72 dart with the 225 slant six a couple days ago and it sputtered and coughed real bad while running. I haven’t had the time to dig into it yet but I was watching your video this morning when I went “hmm, I wonder”. I walked outside and took a look under the hood and sure enough, cylinders 2 and 4 were swapped on the distributor. I switched em back and fired it up. Running smooth as silk now. 😂
I'm a 46 old guy who was taught like you're son& I appreciate it everyday it's really good to see you keeping a old trade alive you have my respect& I'll help try to get you many likes as I can

I remember these back in the day. With IROCs and fox body Mustangs everywhere, Eagles we're about as un-cool as you could get! Almost 40 years later? It's actually a pretty cool little car! I'm glad you saved it! It needs a roof mounted light bar for that "Enduro" look!
Have had my sx4 for about 17 years. Still going strong and fun. Watching some of your fixes and getting ideas. But I have developed over time an OK working knowledge of these cars. LOVE mine and modded it a bit. Figured out retrofit parts, jeep swap ins and what nots. I did replace the rear with an XJ 8.25, and a low range T-case among many things and made it what I think AMC should have done. I was going to chime in with this and that here and there...... BUT I had so much fun listening to your boy and his enthusiasm and actually some good input I just let all my comments go. So cool and awesome memories you are building with him. I smiled all the way through and I don't even have any kids. Heres a link to a vid I did after my poor Eagle sat for 5 years and I put some love back into it last spring (2022) Revived my love for her...... Can't wait to see how yours progresses ! I don’t know how this guy doesn’t have at least 300,000 subscribers, he might be a menace to society 😂but his content is top notch 💯💯💯💯💯. All his videos are pure comedy and genuine entertainment⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I discovered your channel back when you were working on the goat and subbed ever since. This is one of the best channels on RUclips. You’re a great dad too.
Dal'un reminds me of how my dad worked and taught his three sons in the 1960's. Good old fashioned DIY where trial an' error is a great tool for ler'nun.
I had the chance to buy one of these Eagles many years ago but it didn’t have a ratchet strap transmission mount so I passed. Now, THIS car suits you perfectly! You look great in it!!!
Dude 😎 you've totally brought that car from the dead, I love it!!! This car is amazing and really fun for you and your son. It looks so cool ripping around the mud. Your such a good father to your son and your really making the best memories with your son. When he gets older he will have the best memories ever saying to himself, my Dad rocks!!!
I love this car. The first car I went solo in with my drivers license was an 81 AMC Spirit. It was the 2wd 4cy/4spd version. Man these cars are something else and honestly nice to drive. And that vid...at around 55:00 LOL Cig in the mouth, rowing gears, looking in the mirror. Man that was great.
I remember when these cars came out in the early 80's in NY/NJ. They were plagued with problems from the beginning which was the beginning of the end for AMC. The concept was cool and for the first year or two of ownership owners had a blast driving them in snow. Then came rust, electrical problems, and constant breakdowns and they disappeared from the roads as quickly as the Chevy Luv! Both vehicles disintegrated within 3-5 years, from new. The only survivors are southern vehicles.
I test drove a hatch eagle back in like 93. It was at a Honda dealership and they wanted like a $1200. I probably should’ve grabbed since I always had an eye for these. Please keep thrashing it and fixing it!
I’m glad you specified that you used the correct installation method for the baling wire. I have used both methods before but I couldn’t tell the difference
One thing I like about your videos is that you're not afraid to smoke on video. All the other guys are like, "ewww smoke smell in this car" or "nasty smoker", but you are in their face with it. thank you for that from a fellow smoker. I smoke on my videos too. Screw the non smokers who hate my freedom, lol.
"I dont want to put a hose clamp in there - that would be hackery!" LIterally the next clip "So the trans mount is broke - we we are gonna fix it with this ratchet strap...." Dude - I love you! LOL! - Subbed! BTW: I grew up riding in my dad's AMC Concord (2wd brother of the eagle) - Dad worked for AMC / AmGeneral is entire career.
15:15 Never knew this model had the extended length u-bolt option so you can hear it hit the frame rail before you fully bottom out the rear suspension. So many advanced features! 😅
This channel reminds me of when I was young and broke working on my rusty piles of crap. Now I'm old and broke but my vehicle is not a rusty crap pile of crap. Yet.
The old concord I had back in the day had a 30 gallon tank and a four cylinder. I live in central Illinois. Could make it to the upper peninsula and almost half way home on one tank. Loved that car. That and my station wagon ( 1990 mercury grand marquis) were the only 2 cars I cried when they went away.
There is an old AMC dealership here, Long since closed. They have started selling all the cars there. I'm talkin Javlins, Rebels, and Eagles. There were a few AMX's, but they went quick. I have owned several AMC's over the years, still love em. Love that Eagle!
You can do so much cool stuff with this car. A guy I knew had three of them. He put a huge lift in one of them and put a gigantic winch on the front of it. That thing looked awesome. This will be a fun one to build.
Amazing how much better it sounds and looks with all piston firing, that is some stuff I'd overlook myself. Nobody knows how to screw myself like me. Awesome video
It’s wild the 95’ Cherokee Sport with a 4.0HO and AX-15 5 speed manual I had in HS was the exact same color as that SX4 and had the same black rubber molding with stripe that came with the sport package. It was like a trip down memory lane with the view of you working in the wheel well.
The eagle has landed. You pushed the stuffing on this old car. And it did not break down. The brakes are working. So, I think you may have a driver. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Every Eagle/Concord (the 2wd version) we owned growing up had a pliers on the AC vent shelf under the steering wheel to open the hood--if you know, you know!
last time I did brakes I had to replace some brake lines anyway so used the old lines and fittings to make bench bleeders that just dump right back into the reservoir. Works like a champ.
I have never really been an amc fan but the more I see you working on this car the more I am really starting to like it lol around here in East Tennessee that thing woul fit in real nice on these mountain roads keep up the great content man
Dalton, i just watched all of the eagle liftback series again. For like the third time. I appreciate these and find them enjoyable everytime. I hope the eagle is still treating you like the backyard built car it is.
"Who would do this?... it's me, I'm that guy!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can relate more than I probably should. But hey, works is works right! Great video my man! Always entertaining! Blessings and respect!
Watching your channel has finally made me feel confident I can revive an old muscle car one day. Now to just get a couple thousand bucks and like…. A parking spot. lol.
Back in the year 2009 or so, I was the CEO of the city's Red Cross operation. I hired a tall gorgeous woman to be the director of our health & safety program - wonderfully talented single Mom. One Monday she came to work "tired" from her long weekend. I joked thinking she'd had her boyfriend over or something. No. She changed out the brake pads in her car. New respect. The woman had it all.
I’ve had a few of those 4.0s and they all rattled like that. Drove myself crazy trying to quiet the ticking down, eventually just accepted it and gave up. Send it!
After watching various series of videos. I always look forward to the usage of the phrase, "time to shoot some self tappers." It always reminds me of the phrase my dad always used which was, "Don't worry about it. It will be alright."
I had a friend that had a older jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L. That thing had the worst knock that I have ever heard coming from the engine, but the dang thing ran for years knocking like crazy.
I know this video is 6 months old but the 4wd actuator has little e clips that hold the fork in place if you take them out and slide the fork to the 4wd spot and put the clups back in it will go over the collar and truly lock it in all time 4wd learned that years ago on the old 2nd gen cummins front axle for snowplowing
I have a feeling that these AMC cars were more hand built than we think. lol My mom had a 1968 Javelin in pea soup green with vinyl roof when my parents met. Ive only seen pics of it as she sold it off after my parents got married. But she liked it a lot
Man that interior looks pretty good for the age of that Eagle. Those were "granny cars" when I was in high school. Now it's cool! Catching the brake fluid is a good idea for many reasons, one being it will remove paint! What is with the LONG u-bolts on the leaf springs? They are about 5 inches too long. Blue Tooth Drive Shaft on front! LOL
I am shocked to see one of these eagles on the road. I worked at an AMC Jeep dealership when these came out. Transmissions were junk right out the gate. I really liked the car. It was a great idea. Glad you got it back on the road.
In 1986 I purchased 2 1972 AMC Matadors for $200. 1 had a good motor and rust bucket body the other was opposite. It was the first motor swap I ever did.
I loved those cars so cool! I can't believe it was in a scrap yard, body is great! Love your channel I hope you get some sponsors soon!! SUPER CLEAN would be SMART to ask you!!❤
There was a wagon version in my local pull it a few months ago,I started to get the wheel flars , didn't have the proper tools and it was on a 50 acor lot in the very back,
With all that snow, you'll want to look into something called Lanoguard. Miracle stuff. Used it on my car two years ago and water still beads in the arches!
I bought one new back in the 80's. They were never much on power. And they were not the most dependable rigs.. But, there were always junk yards full of them , so parts were easy to find. Overall , they were a 5 outta 10 . But I loved mine..and in 4x4 they would climb a tree.
You're welcome man. Any time.. keep it coming .. truly love watching y'all... Let's face it I'm not a rich man the fact that u do what u do not being a rich man either gives me hope that maybe I can jus build something fun.
I'm running BFG KO2's on my 84' Eagle they are 235,75,15's. That's about the maximum size you can go before you really start chopping away at the fender flares. A little grind here and there at certain locations on the inside of the flare and you can't even visually tell a difference
Well if it blows up you can always fine a good running h.o. 4.0 from a 90's xj cherokee sport, and the eagle will be a killer toy. And the clicking in the front end might be the u joints at the axle hubs behind the knuckles. It was definitely in 2wd the whole time
We need to get this much deserved guy up to 100k subscribers, am I wrong? Hell no I'm not, come on let's help him
I agree. Hot takes right here

I don't hand out compliments easily, but Dalton... you are a great Dad.
Appreciate that!
Love that car. I used to see a black one with reddish trim coloring driving around my home town. I've wanted one ever since.
Dalton, i just watched all of the eagle liftback series again. For like the third time. I appreciate these and find them enjoyable everytime. I hope the eagle is still treating you like the backyard built car it is.

I had a friend that had a older jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L. That thing had the worst knock that I have ever heard coming from the engine, but the dang thing ran for years knocking like crazy.
Congrats PBG and Son on another adventure of will he make-it back home.. cool sx4 car..

good thing that you didn't lose the shop once again!

I'm not sure, maybe it has springs in it or something? Or had?
My old man had an AMX in this bodystyle and I still miss that car it was one of the fastest factory cars I've driven
Man I wish we'd gotten these in Australia. Would be wicked with a turbo Barra swap.
Great video! Also sometimes the o-rings on the oil filter adapter go on the 4.0 and make it look like a rear seal.
Turns out it was overfull, I think it's ok!

Not to be a negative Nancy but I don't think 4wd is working unless it's very rear wheel biased. Bad ass non-the-less! Great progress.
It's not working because I engaged the t case into 2wd. I didn't know which way it was going lol

It was definitely in 2wd the whole time
Yeah I'll wire the t case the other direction and leave it lol
