Can´t beat the 5 years 95-2000 period. Fourth Dimension, Episode, Visions, Destiny, Infinite. Amazing stuff. For a brief taste of that, you can listen to the Visions of Europe Live album. It's so great!
When I started to watch the video, my question was always: “which is gonna be number 1, Episode or Visions?” I’d choose Episode because it has my favorite song “Will the Sun Rise?”, but they are both glorious.
I have a couple of songs which I like from the Stratovarius album (2005): -Fight!!! (have that Megaman X feeling sounds catchy) -Leave the Tribe (I like the epic dark riff of this song)
Great video man, you conveyed exactly what you wanted to say very clearly without bantering on for too long. Also I absolutely love this band and I loved hearing what you had to say about all of these albums
Cheers, thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! I love this band too (other than a couple albums), so tough to rank my favorites by them, since there are so many awesome records
one of the nicest Stratovarius rankings I've seen on RUclips, if not the best :) and yes, the 2005 title album was their worst, by far...they wanted to add some "dark" elements to their music, but it didn't work out at all...I didn't like their 2 "Elements" albums as well, although these two were definitely better than the 2005 album, actually, even their first two albums, Fright Night and Twilight Time, which I didn't like as well, were better than the 2005 album...ok...and now the albums I liked...my favorite Stratovarius album, after all these years and after having listened to ALL their albums MANY times, is Visions...after that I liked a lot Infinite, Episode, Destiny and 4th Dimension...Dreamspace was a decent album, the best with Timo Tolkki as the lead vocalist of the band, Tolkki was a better guitarist than singer and bringing Timo Kotipelto after Dreamspace was a very wise move...from the post-2005 era of the band I liked Nemesis and Eternal the most, although the other albums with the new guitarist, Elysium, Polaris and their most recent, Survive, were not bad at all...but Nemesis and Eternal I liked a bit more than Elysium, Polaris and Survive...
Thanks for your insight. I've known Stratovarius for a long time and owned Infinite, Nemesis and Eternal for years, also seen them live a couple of times, but I'm just now checking out their entire discography chronologically. I thought perhaps I'd be in for a bit of a shock seeing how much the lineup has changed but so far I'm impressed at how good they already sounded at the start and how different yet recognizable they sounded... Reign of Terror is a sick track!
Cheers, thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! Ya those early records are still really great too, even though its a bit of a different sound overall, they still have those trademark amazing guitar melodies and solos
Started with Destiny a month ago when I ordered the vinyl. Looking forward the other ones. They just have so many albums, thanks for the tips, will check out Episode and Visions next.
So many albums! Its a lot to get into for sure haha. Destiny is awesome. If you enjoyed that one, I am sure you will love Episode and Visions too. Cheers!
@@HammerheartMetalReviews I would go with Destiny as my Number 1 but apart from that agree with your rankings. As I have said before I never get involved in these band disagreements. Timo did have health problems and personal problems after he quit etc. But we get 2 bands now yeah. Similar with Queensryche although think ex drummer sueing for something. Some bands just have problems
My list: 1. Visions 2. Infinite 3. Destiny 4. Survive 5. Nemesis 6. Episode 7. Dreamspace 8. Fourth Dimension 9. Polaris 10. Elysium 11. Eternal 12. Elements 1 13. Elements 2 14. Twillight Time 15. Fright Night 16. Stratovarius The middle part for me is very very switchable especially from 8-11
Please check Best of Stratovarius on Medieval Heart RUclips channel it’s just mindblowing ! The best compilation album from one single band that I’ve ever heard. Thanks for the video 👍🏻

Totally agree! That span of albums is so awesome. And oh ya that is an absolutely great live album, really showcases them at their best. Cheers!
I agree

I’d choose Episode because it has my favorite song “Will the Sun Rise?”, but they are both glorious.
Awesome! Ya it was honestly so close for me between those top 3, especially Episode and Visions, both so good! Cheers!

Cool ranking. I don't know this discography well, but now I know which period I should start with.
Thanks man! Ya their 1995 to 2000 period put out a string of great albums, I would definitely start there. Cheers!

A guy doing a full Stratovarius album reviews wearing a Blind Guardian T-shirt 😅. Epic.

@@HammerheartMetalReviews thanks a lot!
I've always liked twilight time and fright night the best.
Totally get that....those had more of a classic heavy metal vibe to them, I still really enjoy those ones too!
I love the drums on Fright Night.
Agree in most of your list. I love this band!
Cheers!

Nice! Always like seeing others playlists and choices of favorite songs. And no problem at all man, cheers!
Timo project and solo work is great to
Such a great guitarist!
Good ranking 🤘

Great List , but I'd rank Infinite on a higher position ...
Thanks, and fair enough! Infinite is a great album. Cheers!
